I ordered delivery from here after a coworker recommended it to me. The food was delivered to my job and since the delivery man waited for me for about 5 minutes, I decided to be nice and tip him extra. Little did I know they charged me a $3 delivery fee because I was located 3 miles away. When I called and asked why they didn't tell me about the fee, they said everyone who orders from my job knows about the delivery fee. None of my coworkers said they've ever been charged a delivery fee. The delivery fiasco aside, the food was disgusting. My coworker got sick from her egg drop soup. My broccoli and chicken with garlic sauce was sitting in a pool of oil. It gave me a horrible stomach ache. The rice was tasteless and so was the chicken. I have been going here for many years. The service has changed for the worst. Every single person that works there is extremely arrogant. They take your order and talk to you like you're lucky to be in the restaurant. Very clean food, great service, comfortable atmosphere. The portions are the perfect size for sharing several dishes. The valet parking is a cool feature, which prevents people from arguing about finding spots in a small lot. Easy to get to if coming from the East, but a nightmare when getting out if going East. read more

I'm not Chinese and Nassau County has way more Chinese restaurants than I've been to or know about, but this place is probably among the handful that are the best. We think Pearl East in Manhasset is among those. Not as to every dish, but generally, it has a great menu and quality cuisine. White table cloths, classy and attentive service, reservations required on weekend nights, valet parking.... Last night, Friday, we ordered an off-the-menu special, roast pork for the table (there were four of us): it was soft and juicy; neither rare, nor fatty or overcooked, just right; well spiced on the outside; and was like a pork version of fillet mignon (which is also a dinner choice). Soups were not their forte. For my entree, I had the jumbo shrimp with Chinese spinach - just perfect. My buddy ordered for himself and his wife, who is an attorney, so that surprised me, but she likes everything they have, so whatever he wanted was fine with her. After trying out a bunch of different Chinese restaurants, Hunan Taste is one of the best on Long Island. No matter how crowded it gets you can always expect amazing quality food and service. Had lunch there today. The food was good. It wasn't the best Chinese I've ever had but it was tasty. I had chicken with mixed veg. I prefer more sauce. It was more like a glaze than a sauce. But I really appreciated nice white pieces of chicken. No "mystery chicken" here. I have to add that our waiter served us food and totally disappeared. No drink refills. Visited Hunan Taste on a crisp and cool Sunday evening, and I must say everything exceeded our standards. The service is efficient, friendly and accommodating. The staff moves like a well-oiled machine. The food is astounding in its preparation and taste. We ordered the Spicy Szechuan Wontons, Sesame Beef, Eggplant W. Garlic Sauce and Chow Mie Fun-shrimp. All were winners. The price range is between $20-$30 per person, depending on your appetite and what you would like to take home for the next day. Not including alcohol and gratuities, the price is appropriate for the quality of food. The decor and ambiance are not on-par with the Four Seasons, but gets the job done. The vibe seems like one from the Chinese restaurants in the 80s that no longer exist. Parking is not an issue, as they have Valet right by the door. We also observed a nice handicap accessible ramp in the dining room which leads to the street. Look forward to trying more things on the menu. read more

Are you kidding me ! Probably the worse chinese food I've ever eaten. Everything from the egg roll, dumplings, pan fried noodles , and general tsos. Egg roll obviously frozen, and something you can get at any supermarket in the frozen food section. Pan fried noodles bland, skimped on the shrimp which was obviously frozen, not fresh. I have no words to describe how bad the general tsos shrimp was. I'm thinking about going to the emergency room to get my stomach pumped. The worst part is the prices they charge. A correction to my prior review: Their stringbeans, which I complained lacked garlic sauce, were in fact perfectly prepared-the stringbeans are normally prepared with a minimum of sauce, at this restaurant and others. I placed a phone order recently on the lunch menu, for pickup, for broccoli with garlic sauce, brown rice and wonton soup. The broccoli and rice were delicious with good portions and well priced. i had a chance to come here with upper level management people from my company, and i was super impressed with this place and the quality of their food. granted they ordered all the expensive things on the menu, the food was still superb. i also came here on another occasion with my co-workers, where i couldn't order the most expensive things on the menu, but the food was still really good. i liked tangerine beef and the shredded beef with garlic sauce. sounds like regular chinese take-out menu items, right? well, i can tell you right now that this is definitely not your run-of-the-mill chinese restaurant. read more

I went to college about a mile down the road from here so I was introduced to this joint by some friends. The food is good and I liked the atmosphere.
