No one is claiming that this place serves authentic Chinese or even China Townese food. Still, in my book, they get three stars for their efficiency, the freshness of their ingredients, how accommodating they are to special requests and the taste of their food. Their dumplings are not great, neither are any of their appetizers. Their soups are also nothing to write home about; however, their main courses are all cooked to order any way you like them. For example, I like Kung Pao shrimp very hot and with cashews instead of peanuts and with broccoli instead of green peppers and with straw mushrooms and water chestnuts. I know, that's not Kung Pao shrimp; but when I'm here, I don't care. I can order Kung Pao shrimp exactly how I want it and they make it for me with a smile. I admit that I take advantage of their kindness, but I am a good and appreciative customer. Also, the place is very cheap and you can feel that MSG tingle when you take a deep breath of the air inside the shop. This is a guilty pleasure that many will criticize; but if I'm ever confronted by someone about it, I'll deny knowing the place and pretend the conversation isn't even with me. This place is awesome for take out. The wanton soup is really good, so are the dumplings (fried or steamed - I have only had fried but a friend raves about them steamed). While we have never had a bad thing there - let me tell you, the Lo Mein is the star of this place. I swear they must put something addicting into it. Its amazing. Grossssssss! I'm sorry but some of these reviews are dead WRONG!! This food had no flavor what so ever to the point where I physically had to re-cook everything myself. They don't deliver to the Marriott Hotels that are on hotel row, 5 miles away. Ok, 4.8 miles by mapquest. If you're in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl for a cruise, order from someone else who actually delivers. Order this restaurant by mistake but was pleasantly surprised. There are 3 restaurants with the same name in the general area. I thought I called the one I usually order from, went there and they said it happens a lot and directed me to there other location about 10 min down the street. Went there and again, not the correct restaurant. The correct restaurant was not under the same ownership as the first two so I was a bit nervous. This restaurant was definitely out of my area but was very good. I ordered friend rice, general to chicken, and pepper steak. The only complaint would be the pepper steak was a bit chewy and not as flavorful as the other places I go. The customer service was great. My favorite chinese take out in Broward County. The Singapore mei fun noodles are terrific and the steamed dumplings are a favorite. I haven't had anything I don't care for and the dishes seem to have more flavor (with very fresh ingredients) than other places I have tried. I have been coming here for over 7 years and I have never eaten a bad plate of food at all. Today I ordered one of my regular curry shrimp and onion. But when I tasted the shrimp it it totaly was mushy and extremely soft as if it wasn't fresh. So I called the business to let them know of the order they placed earlier so they can know that the shrimp wasn't good and maybe they should pay more attention to it. Instead the owner which I've known including his whole family son and daughter and wife that work there yells at me and tells me he's been selling shrimp all day and no one else has complained and then he wouldn't let me speak then he hung up the phone. So there is no customer appreciation here the whole airport orders here as well I will be sure to let everyone know how you treat your customers and how you don't care about their well being like want if I come down with seafood sickeness after this ? I order from here all the time and the food's great. They've never messed up my order, are always throwing me little freebies and they're generous with sauces and fortune cookies. The place is always clean and the staff's always great, even when they're swamped. They've even let me slide a couple times when I got there or called a few minutes late for the lunch specials. They deliver super fast as well; I live less than a mile away, but even given that, they're pretty fast. Oh, and I can't forget to mention that their ingredients are always really fresh. You know how sometimes you'll get that day old taste when you order something? Not here. I actually asked the guy at the counter and he said they throw all the leftovers out at the end of the night and bring out fresh stuff every day, and it definitely shows in their food. I drove from Hallandale because the yelp review said it was New York Style and it was good. I ordered shrimp fried rice, the shrimp was chewy and the rice was dark brown and didn't have a good taste. This place is a chain. I think there are a total of 8 now. I've eaten from 3 and the food is pretty much the same. This location is the closest and where I get delivery from. Let's face it people. We are not going to find authentic Chinese food here. Unless you are in NY or CA then maybe. This is the American version of Chinese food. It's greasy and loaded in sodium. I crave this after a long night of drinking when I wake up at 2 in the afternoon with a hangover. You will need a gallon of water after eating this food. This time I ordered the boneless ribs, well done. There is some fat in it but the meat is good. The sauce is sweet Asian BBQ that's thick and gooey. I also had the pork egg foo young. The brown gravy is very good. Ask for extra if you like alot because it never seems to be enough. The rice is full of meat and veggies and not overly seasoned. The egg rolls are good but can be very greasy at times. I usually take a paper towel and wrap it around to blot up the extra grease. The price is cheap. Combo meals start at $7.95. This place isn't for everyone. You might love it or hate it but it's worth a try. read more
