I have to say, we were very happy with the food here! We are big fish and chips lovers....which we originally tried and didn't care for the fried fish! But, that being said, everything else has been great!! Even the breaded chicken wings(and at a seafood place). I'll admit the food was pretty good here the first time so I doubled back- but always wondered why there weren't many people patronizing the restaurant. Well, I discovered that ownership/ management has some flaws and deficits and it trickled down to me bigly last night. I arrived around 1015p , I asked the bartender if the kitchen was still open, he said yes, but stated "I need to get the order in right away because the owners are adamant about closing right at 11pm when we're slow." The restaurant closed at 11pm, so cool no problem- I understood. He brought my food out shortly (with no utensils) and it was pretty decent- no complaints. I could sense that they were rushing, so I offered to box my food and leave... the waiter said "nah you're fine, just pay your bill so that I can clock out" and I did that. At this point, I'm sitting at the bar eating my food I've paid for...the bartender's wandering around (off the clock I guess) and an owner/ manager type cuts off all the tv's (while I'm watching) -- it's not even 11pm yet. I asked the bartender to turn the tv back on because I was actually watching it and he did- no harm no foul. Now here's when I get upset and decide to get outta my seat n' say something to somebody....the "busboy " (according to the manager) commences to pull the chairs away from the bar and begins mopping the floor... around me!!! I think it bears noting, when I first sat down the bar was dirty af and greasy and perhaps I should have left right then, but I asked the bartender to clean it and he did. But now that my money is in your pocket, you want to prioritize cleanliness- come on now. This ain't in no way cool, polite, respectful, appropriate professional or necessary as far as I'm concerned. I told the busboy to chill out and asked him in Spanish, "who is the manager?" and he pointed him out. I went straight to the manager and expressed my disdain and he immediately attempted to blame the busboys language barrier for the misunderstanding (wild, disrespectful and audacious) versus listening, apologizing or making some type concession (which I was not seeking). So in short, we have an Asian man, not very proficient in speaking English, throwing shade/ attacking a Mexican man that was simply doing his job as instructed, speaking disingenuously and dismissively to an African man who happens to be very fluent in Spanish- this almost sounds like a joke doesn't it lol, but it wasn't. The Asian man's accent was significant, but I understood him well enough to know he was on some bs and the crux of the matter is this, there was never a language barrier, he just didn't care enough about me nor my experience to even attempt to listen nor empathize. I'm sure this person has found success with this tactic of skirting accountability at the expense of others that lack the capacity or power to express/ defend themselves for whatever reason and that shouldn't be ok. I'm not sure why this person is this way and honestly I don't care enough to find out why, maybe he just woke up and decided to be a clown yesterday.... well he did a great job, every circus needs a good clown. In one fell swoop this person converted a lackluster customer service experience into something more pernicious and not so subtlety racial at all... and I'm sure it' wasn't his first time. Whatever your name is sir, you should be ashamed of yourself... no one owes you anything, but you owe it to yourself to be a better person- work on that. 1. quit throwing hardworking people under buses that have nothing to do with or no power over your business/ management decisions. 2. be more respectful of anyone and everyone willing to patronize your business. 3. Don't ever assume again that people that look like me are ignorant, diminished and only speak one language. She promptly apologised and took the check to management for an adjustment, management said absolutely not! He ate the dinner portion and would have to pay for it! They had a house flavoring that was a combination of garlic butter, lemon pepper, old bay, and some other things that was fantastic. It's called Hungry Seasoning. The timing was a bit off because we ordered steamed and fried food. The fried food took a little longer. They just opened, so I think they'll figure it out. I had a terrible experience at Hungry Crab due to one of their bartenders acting very suspiciously with my debit card. A friend and I went to have dinner and drinks at the bar. This was my fifth time visiting the establishment in the last two weeks. When we cashed out, the bartender took our cards and brought both of the checkout books to us -- but my friend's card was in her book while mine was not. I searched through my entire purse and mentioned to my friend my card was missing. Another bartender overheard me then checked the register that is literally in the bar. My card and the bartender who served us were nowhere to be found. When the bartender finally showed back up, I simply asked her, "where's my card?" She rolled her eyes then walked off without a word. She returned from the front register (we were sitting in the bar are where there's a register). I asked her if she was supposed to check me out at the bar and she replied either register could be used. I nodded my head and left it at that. As she walked off, I could hear her say, don't nobody want your card," but I let it slide because I was excited to hang out with my friend. As my friend and I were leaving, I turned back around to grab my receipt from the book. I walked to the bar, grabbed the receipt, and was walking out of the establishment when the bartender YELLED ACROSS THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT, "don't nobody want your card!" Literally yelled across the entire restaurant as I was on my way out the door. I turned around and approached her to address the issue, but she continued to say "don't nobody want your card," as she backed away into the kitchen. Pure comedy! The fact that she went straight to "don't nobody want your card" instead of saying she mistakingly left it somewhere is what really made me feel something shady was going on. I've turned my card off and am now inconvenienced with having to ordering another one. After talking to another friend about the issue, I called the restaurant to let them know I wanted a refund. I was told the manager Tai would give me a call. He called me, informed me there had been THREE other customer complaints about the bartender, but he refused to give me a refund. There is no way I should have paid for that meal after being completely disrespected by their employee. Tai initially told me I could get 70% off of my next meal. But why would I feel comfortable using my card in an establishment where employees can act shady with my card and not face any recourse? He then said I could get a free meal, but that is not satisfactory to me. If you decide to go to this establishment, be sure to take cash. They clearly don't take employees acting sketchy with their customers' cards seriously. read more

As others have mentioned it is not cheap. Having said that I have not been able to find any place in Brunswick to get Kind Crab legs. All the food was fresh, there was no fishy smell when we walked in. I got the King Crab legs with Cajun seasoning and my wife got the fried shrimp basket. The crab legs were fresh and sweet. The breading on the shrimp was crisp and shrimp were fresh as well. Other then cost this is a good place for seafood and it only loses one star for that. read more

If you value your health, do not eat here. The fried oysters tasted like chemicals and still to this day, I have no idea if they were actually oysters. I don't think I'll be able to eat oysters again after that experience. I became very ill afterwards. There's no reason why my food almost killed me. Went here Saturday to celebrate our 11 year old birthday she loves seafood. Now we came to go to Mr Shucks but they were full. Now I didn't want to go to a large chain but wanted a more intimate setting but they weren't crowded. The food, other than the high priced boil plates, is terrible. There's too much breading on the fish and on the shrimp. The fries just a plain not good. The service was not very good either. They brought me a Coke without syrup in it, and then I had to wait forever for another one to come. They brought me a spray in the meantime. Our server Laquesha was fantastic!!! We went to the Hungry Crab to celebrate my birthday which was just the day before and the Manager, Joy was terrible and gave us terrible service. Saying that, the start of our lunch was anything but fantastic. Right outside the door, not feet away, I mean crouched down, back against the wall right at the door was a man who I think was the chef smoking a cigarette and an my aunt and I walked up he hawked a loud loogie and spat right outside the door. He did reach out and open the door for us with the cigarette wafting smoke at us. I told him he should not be smoking his cigarette right at the door. We went in and I spoke to the manager at the podium and let her know there was someone right outside the door smoking. We were seated and Laquesha as just awesome as our server. We both ordered a dozen oysters with my aunt having medium spicy cajun seasoning and I requested no spice, just the garlic and butter. When the oysters came out I did notice that my oysters looked a lot like my aunts as there was red sauce/spice all over my oysters. When I tried one it was immediately spicy. I had my aunt try the cauce on my oysters and she agreed it was spicy. We apologized to Laquesha but had to send them back as they were too spicy for me to eat. The next ones were great, just the garlic and butter. As we were eating I noticed I only had 10 oysters, not 12 which I had ordered. I let Laquesha know and she went to the manager who was the woman I had spoken to when I first came in the restaurant. The manager then says I ate 2 of the oysters. FIRST I only ate one and that one burned my mouth and was not what I ordered. SECOND, why would she even argue the point if it was sent back for being inedible? I could see if I had eaten 6 of the 12 but I only ate one and sent it back right away. The manager came to our table and argued the point with me stating two were eaten so they were only going to redo 10. Horrible customer service by Joy, the manager. She begrudingly went back with a scowl and came back with two more oysters. They were great. She never apologized she didn't come back to check in, Joy was awful. We also heard loud shouting coming out of the kitchen. Again, the food and Laquesha were great but the manager Joy was terrible. On 5/28 my husband and I ate at Hungry Crab. The food was ok and so was the service. Our bill was $78.93, which we paid on our debit card. Instead of leaving a tip on the car we left a $20 tip in cash, which is 25%. After getting home and reviewing the charge on the account, the server added a $10 tip to my card. I called to speak with a manager, who indicated that the receipt for my order was missing and they would research it and get back to me. I have yet to hear back from the manager but fortunately was able to dispute the charge with my bank. read more
