Overall: We've had a few misses in the morrison area in terms of food and this has been a solid spot for good food and cocktails. Everything is made from scratch - including their fruit juices. For drinks they have a rotating spritz that is always yummy to try out. Came here a few times and some standouts have been shrimp and grits, calamari, brussel sprouts, and the parpadelle. the shrimp and grits and perfectly creamy & evenly spiced - a nice slightly heavier brunch item. The calamari was perfectly fried and seasoned. And the real standout item was the brussel sprouts. Some of the best I've had. Lightly fried with pickled onions and a beet hummus that is to die for. I'd order a bucket of that just to put on everything. Most everything else has been solid (burger), the salmon left a little be to desired in terms of taste and texture. Overall its yummy solid food if you are going to be nearby. But not amazing blow your socks off (other than the brussels!). So I wouldn't come out of my way just to come here - but there is a ton in the area (a good stop for visiting red rocks, mt falcon, downtown morrison) They have an adorable outdoor patio with a waterfall and a separated dog patio which is a huge selling point for us. Value: Food is great but a little on the pricier side. Would I come back? We're in the area so this has become a staple for us if we're looking for some good food. The Hungry Goat is an absolute gem. It's my husband and I's go to spot for date night & any time we have visitors in town. We've dined here so often that at one point, when I got in my car, my apple maps would automatically pop up & tell me how far away The Hungry Goat was from home. My family and I ate at this restaurant today. We were seated right away, and our server, Bryan, was amazing. But I'm so disappointed in the wait time for our food, as well as the way the manager handled the entire situation. We ordered three burgers and two side salads, along with a side of fries. We waited 55 minutes for our food. When we spoke with maria, the manager, her only responses were "heard" and "let me take a look at that, you can go sit down with your family" in a monotone voice. Eighteen dollars was taken off our bill. That $18 covered the side of fries that were ordered. As someone who works in this industry, the wait time and manager's response are not acceptable. The Mr. DD, SIL, and sweet little granddaughter had brunch here after church on Sunday. DD chose the charcuterie with 4 options, our SIL had a quinoa burger, the Mr. chose the brussel sprouts, and I opted for the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. There wasn't a child's option on the menu, so the waitress helped us put together a meal for our 3 year old granddaughter. She had scrambled eggs, ham, and potatoes. That plate looked amazing. I was sorry she ate it all, because I would have loved to have finished what was on her plate. This is one of those hidden gems. It used to be Beso de Arte, but had been totally transformed into a quality restaurant with a full bar and delicious meals and drinks made from scratch. I had the Angus Black Smith burger and my wife had the Caesar Salad. My burger had a bakery fresh bun and the Angus patty was huge! We thought about dessert but didn't have the room! From the outside, this place looks small and unassuming. From the sidewalk you can see the secluded patio tables with umbrellas, and waterfall, but looking into the restaurant from the entrance all you can see is a tiny waiting area. It's not until you go inside and walk through the doorway next to the host stand that you begin to see the real restaurant. Just past the host/waiting area is an intimate dining room and then a little further is the stairway that leads to the main dining area, bar, and patio. Our server Patrick, who was fun and attentive, told us this restaurant is one of the newcomers to the Morrison main strip. He said the restaurant was totally remodeled about 2 months ago and gets quickly filled up on weekends. They have a lunch and dinner menu and some desserts. Spent my Sunday afternoon walking around the shops, growing an appetite for lunch. I was drawn in first by the smell of the food. And after waiting 10 min to be seated my wife and I walked into what is a smaller seating arrangement inside, but having the options to be seated outdoors and in the extended patio. The menu was extensive in alcoholic beverages and had some exciting charcuterie plates, but being more hungry we ordered from the lunch menu. I had steak frites and eggs, my wife the eggs Benedict. Unfortunately, for her eggs they could not poach the eggs, the eggs had to be over medium yet were over done. My skirt steak was a little smaller than anticipated, but then again I was hungry so might have just been my appetite... all in all the food and service was great, and our server did compensate for the eggs not being made well. So we stumbled upon the hungry goat by accident for lunch and it was absolutely incredible! We had the pan roasted Brick Chicken and the Black Smith Burger. Both were totally unique and a wonderful surprise for Colorado! The burger my boyfriend ordered was remarkably well prepared and cooked. The burger was juicy and he loved the combo but the truffle flavoring wasn't as strong as he had hoped. I had the Brick Chicken - it came with a yogurt spread and some seasoned vegetables. The kicker was the mint scallion rice cake. I would have to say that the portion for this was incredibly small. It was $28 and while the chicken was flavorful, everything else on this plate was a lacking in flavor and quantity. The yogurt cucumber and tomatoes needed a bit more than of something, we almost wish it had been it's own item- instead it seemed like a junior level chef threw this on as an add on for decoration. It just, needed more umph to it. But there REALLY should have been more for the plate. I'm going to chalk this up to the fact that they are new and they are likely still working out the kinks. :} I have to comment on the atmosphere and the bartenders though because those are the reasons we will be back. The bartenders were so sweet and helpful. And watching them making the drinks was a lot of fun. Besides that, the patio is GORGEOUS! I want to come back just for brunch here!
