Tried Hungry Harold's and it definitely delivered. The onion rings were the star for me crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Honestly some of the better onion rings I've had in a while. I also went for the extra juicy burger, and it lived up to the name. Great flavor, cooked right, and messy in the best way. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is I think it could use just a little more consistency/finishing touch to make it perfect every time. Its a sad day in the hood. I drove by here the other day and noticed a piece of paper in the window. So i came back to see what it was. Sure enough there is a demo permit in the window. Man im hurt, i grew up in this place with their breakfast sandwiches, burgers and chili cheese fries. This place is a hood staple. Ill definitely miss it. The lady inside was always really nice. First I had to navigate through traffic from my house on Centinella and LaBrea to Crenshaw and Slauson which was definitely a mission dodging 5 o clock traffic, in a Monday, a hour before game 4 of a possible Laker playoff elimination playoff game! But i'm here to tell you, ITS NOT. I ordered 1 cheeseburger combo, and one cheeseburger by itself (it was a long day). While the fries never withstood the test of time they did satisfy me (not crispy, under salted, still good to me). The two burger came out fairly quick, given there were no other customers. ONly about 5-6 minutes. They were fresh and i like the onions and other ingredients they used. The patty WASN'T a smash, but it was thick like a hockey puck. Great quality burger, glad I got two. I used to come here when I was younger and the same items are served but management has changed... that means smaller portions and of course higher prices. I would usually go for their bacon and egg sandwich or their pastrami sandwich. I recommend driving up and looking at the menu IF you want to try it or have questions. If you call with questions, the asian woman that is usually there can be a bit rude over the phone. She does not like to provide information on prices or details or the menu. The bacon is ok I guess but there was barely any cheese, and the worst of all the hash brown was mush. Ugh I specifically asked for them to be crispy.
