    Say it aint so!

Its a sad day in the hood. I drove by here the other day and noticed a piece of paper in the window. So i came back to see what it was. Sure enough there is a demo permit in the window. Man im hurt, i grew up in this place with their breakfast sandwiches, burgers and chili cheese fries. This place is a hood staple. Ill definitely miss it. The lady inside was always really nice. Not to say that sometimes it cant be dangerous to come here but sometimes it was worth the risk. I hope to make it back again before they are gone.

Today I took it back OLD school and had a taste for Hungry Harold's I don't know why because I haven't had it since I first moved out here from Chicago in the late 70's!! First I had to navigate through traffic from my house on Centinella and LaBrea to Crenshaw and Slauson which was definitely a mission dodging 5 o clock traffic, in a Monday, a hour before game 4 of a possible Laker playoff elimination playoff game! So the pastrami was a little from what I remembered I could've had 2 and I forgot they add chili it wasn't what I remembered and could've left this memory in the past, it wasn't bad it was just so so not what I'm used to having.

My homie stayed right down the street. When his mom would make vegan meals we would dip to Harold's. We'd spend our change at Slauson donuts. Won't miss them, but glad to see they're in a spot across the street in Woody's lot.

Need something tasty to eat if you're near Slauson and Crenshaw? Hungry Harold's is one of many places in the area that would be a good place to stop. If it's the morning, you can't go wrong with a breakfast burrito. Afternoon, there's always a chilidog, chili burger and/or chili fries. Friendly staff and it's easy to get in and out of. Ample parking and if you need something sweet, there's a donut shop across the parking lot. (not promoting them) Give it a try.

I've driven by this place idk how many times but just never pulled in. Was in the mood for a pastrami sandwich, so I called in my order, asked to have my pastrami grilled and bread too. Let me just tell you it was amazing. Not a lot of places do grilled pastrami but it had the perfect amount of mustard & pickles..... the little peppers that came with it were so FIRE, had my tears flowing n nose running. Yummy shoe string fries with generous seasoning salt. Can't wait to go back and try something else. Hope you enjoy too.

Definitely an LA staple for a reason! Get the patty melt! The fries were good too! I felt like I was eating a patty melt made in heaven. I f**'d my plate up!

Two Hommés is truly an absolute gem in Inglewood and I highly recommend coming here because of how they've blended West African, Mexican, West Asian, and American ingredients & flavours - the food is a lovely mix of feeling light & fresh, paired with more meaty (but not dense) options, and overall very delicous. Pro-tip: Make a reservation online through Resy - this restuarant qualifies for AmEx's Resy credit! Layout & seating: The front-door faces the main streetThere are high tables, bar seating, and low tables throughout the area. I haven't used their bathroom, so I can't speak to that. Parking: There's a free, public parking lot in the back that's shared with the school, so be mindful that you're not parking in designated spots during school hours. Other times, e.g., weekends, it's fair game. It thankfully has never been packed, so I have been able to grab a spot for myself. Accessibility: The door is a little heavy, but there are no steps to get inside from the street, so that's good. The inside can feel a little cramped. Ambiance: During the late afternoon, the sunlight filters and the entire dining area feels nice but not too bright. Service: Very prompt and attentive; friendly staff. What I've tried: Pre-Summer menu 1. Duck Dibi Ssam: Senegalese smoked lamb shoulder, bib lettuce, green Shito, pickle, and suya peanuts; $52 I love the combination of Senegalese and Korean dishes here to create this juicy duck dish. I do wish there was more Shito because the amount you get is not enough for the entire plate and extras have a cost. 2. Jollof Platter: Ghanaian jollof, bomb azz black beans, plaintains, arugula salad; sauces: Scallion, BBQ jerk, cilantro-lime cream; added on root beer braised short rib; $28 + 22 (protein add-on) Absolutley tender, fall-off-the-bone short rib in a rich mole-like root beer sauce. The jollof was well cooked - definitely parboiled before cooked off at the end with the seasoning & spices, and nicely smoked. The beans were simple, but I do remember tasting the bay leaves and seasoning. The plantains were soooo well cooked; crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Summer menu 1. Suya Mushrooms and Greens: Oyster mushroom, snap peas, peanuts; $15 Absolutely scrumptious mix of suya, fresh & crunchy snap peas, and just smokey enough. I cannot stress how much everyone must try this dish, if nothing else on the menu. 2. This is, A Tasty Burger: Short rib, caramelised onions, pickles, cheddar, Gold-Coast BBQ sauce, fries; $23 Not heavy, but very filling and juicy; loved the BBQ sauce - I think there was mustard in there? Either way, the flavours were so "simple" yet flavourful. The meat felt "light", if that makes sense. 3. Lamb + White Bean Hummus: Flatbread, yassa onions, (ground) lamb bits; $21 The hummus felt very traditional Palestinian/Syrian and the ground lamb was delicious. The flatbread was reminiscent of the flatbreads from the Levant, Khubz Arabi or a type of pita - soft, pillowy, and perfect for hummus. 4. Smashed potatoes: Labneh, Lula Mae's chilli oil, fried rosemary; $15 This feels like their version of Batata Harra and it was nice; loved the fried rosemary and garlic - so crunchy and flavourful. Really rich & tangy labneh - I wonder if it's homemade or from a Lebanese store? 5. Drinks: Hommémade lemonade (jamaica) and Mocktail of the week Love the (spicy pineapple) Both drinks were well-made - a little tart, a litle sweet, and well mixed. My absolute favourite items have been the duck and the Suya Mushrooms and Greens; I cannot wait to go back and order more of the latter and try out the Big Fish, and finally try the desserts! My only issue is the noise; there's a TV that's on in the background, music playing overhead, and rather close seating to the next party (to the point that you can hear what they're saying rather clearly). Having a conversation is very difficult with all these competing sounds. Note: There is a time limit for parties of 4 or larger of 1.5 hours, so please be mindful as Two Hommés gets busy from opening to close.

My husband and I often find ourselves at odds when it comes to dining out, as our tastes don't always align. However, when it comes to Toochie's, we're in complete agreement: they serve the best burger we've ever had. The secret lies in the careful preparation and meticulous smoking process, which elevates the flavor to new heights. Each bite reflects the love and dedication put into their craft, creating a harmony of taste that is genuinely hard to beat. What's more, Toochie's Kitchen has managed to earn a special place in our culinary hearts, something we fondly refer to as a "hood Michelin star" in our household. This accolade is well-deserved, as they consistently deliver on quality, flavor, and hospitality. Whether you're a burger connoisseur or just someone who appreciates a good meal, Toochie's Kitchen is a must-visit destination. They've managed to bring my husband and me together over food in a way few other places have, and for that, they have our wholehearted recommendation. We haven't visited the store yet but we did do the stand a year ago and then tonight we uber eats it. We have been thinking about and following this place for so long.
