Great pizza, salads, and bread sticks. The employees are always cool and the orders are timely. Once they ran out of ready cheese bread and I had to wait a few minutes. They took it off the bill. The only problem is the lack of consistency in pricing. We order the same thing every week. The price is different when various employees take our order. I've discussed this with one female employee whose bill is always a few dollars more than when the male answers the phone. She claims she is giving us the 'best deal'. read more

This is by far the best Hungry Howies in Oakland County! This store remains consistent with the expectations of the franchise and continues to impress me by the exceptionally trained staff. No matter what I order, it is always made perfect. On a rare occasion that it is not, everyone seems to go above and beyond to accommodate me and make things right. The manager is doing a fine job by implementing this culture into every associate. I appreciate the hospitality of everyone that works here and the consistency with the results of my food. Absolutely the worst employees I have ever had to deal with in my entire life. I ordered pizza to the three times a week from this place, and tonight I put in an order and made a mistake and hit pick up. I called back immediately and switched it to delivery, they confirmed. An hour and a half later the manager is calling me a liar and telling me that I never called and they were not going to refund my money. The excuse, they weren't allowed to refund money and the owner was in California. All I want my pizza and now I'm sucked into a conversation with a pizza place and then calling me a liar go someplace else especially on the weekends!!!! read more

I'm not even sure this restaurant deserves a two rating because I find my observations to be so egregious. I called and ordered a pizza from outside of the store. I prefer to walk in and get my pizza so I did. At first all seemed OK, all employees were wearing masks except that one employee had such a full ZZ Top style beard that the mask appeared to be a postage stamp on a shag throw rug. Not sure how all that hair doesn't get into the food let alone make the mask useless. Worse than that, in the 15 minutes I was there, zero handwashing was performed. The same employee with the pirate beard as well as other employees routinely operated at the cash register and then immediately went back to assembling pizza including sticking bare ungloved hands into containers of toppings such as mushrooms, peppers, pepperoni etc. Well I prefer clean hands to dirty gloves when preparing food, there is zero chance that these hands were clean, as employees were repeatedly contaminating their hands on common surfaces such as cash register, front counter etc. and then touching dough, toppings, and every condiment container both outside and in. Even if hands were washed, every condiment container would already be contaminated from previous unwashed hands. Disgusting. Never going to this hungry Howies again and likely not going to any. Mod pizza was meticulous about using gloves and or washed hands when handling food and / or food containers by comparison. The pizza was just average (barely and green pepper or onions and way too much black olive) but probably not as good as it could been since I felt the need to completely re-bake the pizza at home to kill off any bacteria and viruses left behind by this unsupervised crew of kids. I used to support this business a lot. Will never go back again. Ordered via their website, checked in via website on arrival per instruction. I had Parked behind where the drivers park On Old Towne. Patiently waited 30 min. No one came to car. Called store and was instructed that I should have called on arrival per sign. From where i was parked at location, the only sign visible was a sandwhich sign that was covered in snow on both sides. Called back to speak with manager, as I was disappointed in the customer service. Got Bill on the phone, he proceeded to make my complaint all my fault. When I asked why he felt comfortable to talk to me the way he was choosing to do so, he hung up the phone. Called back to the store to get customer complaint phone number, and was hung up on 3 times and was told I was banned. Awesome! So now I had cold food and lost out on the 20% tip I had left to help support the food industry. I called to corporate and was told because this store was individually owned, that I may or may not get a call back, and that I should reach out to the store directly for complaints. Called back to store and got female on the phone. Explained my story to her, and stated that I just wanted to file a complaint as I am not sure why I was being treated by Bill the way I was. I never raised my voice once to him. She put me on hold, came back on the line and her and Bill proceeded to yell at me, about wanting their bosses cell number. I never even asked for that. Not sure what childish games were decided to be had at this location On Saturday 2/13/21. Ended up having to get the Rochester Police Station involved to obtain complaint phone number For their business. Do you know how dumb and embarrassed I felt having to do so. Have not received any communication from Hungry Howies Corporate or location. Still out my money, and cold pizza went into the trash. Absolutely ridiculous. God bless to the manager named Bill. It's a Sunday tradition in my house to eat pizza for dinner. We have been going here since we moved to Rochester 3 years ago. The pizza is always tasty and they have only goofed up our orders twice in three years. No biggie. The past 4 months or so, we have been experiencing any pizza connoisseur's biggest pet peeve. I order pizzas and wings from this location for a lot of events at my business. So far they have gotten all my orders correct and the pizzas were all cooked the way I ordered. They are always fair priced and always on time. I typically place the order in the morning and they always arrive at the time I requested. I ordered bbq wings (made with "sweet bbq sauce" is what's advertised), they made them as buffalo/spicy and instead of remaking them (because hey everyone makes mistakes) they just poured the bbq sauce on top of them (literally; they didn't even have the decency to at least take them out the box and at least toss them in the bbq sauce, they literally just poured bbq sauce on top of them as they were still in the box). Since hungry homies are a franchise... There isn't much difference from one to the other. That being said this comes down to staff, location, and hours. I like/ appreciate them having late hours especially on the weekends after a night of drinking. Delivery people probably are a huge turnover... But we seem to have the same ones. If I could leave a zero star review, I would. Tonight I placed an online order at 6:13. By 7:31 the pizza was delivered. When I called they couldn't tell me where my pizza was, the boy on the phone said it was maybe on the road, but he wasn't sure and didn't know how to find out if it had been made. After being placed on hold for 18 minutes to speak with a manager, we were given the run around and the mystery was still not solved. Finally was able to speak to a manager - who never tried to make it right. He said we could cancel and get a refund or they could make the pizza and get it on the road. I get it's Friday and they are busy, I understand they were having staffing issues. We are loyal customers, we order from that location weekly. They could have offered to send the pizza at no charge, they could have given us a free pizza for another night. Needless to say, we'll be ordering from the Shelby Township location from now on. read more

Ordered pizza from here at 11 PM guy was not only rude to us when we took our order but when we went to go pick it up (10 min before they close) he tried telling us he was closed! We had to stand outside for another 10 minutes for him to answer the phone! Then we finally got to talk to him and told him we had ordered a pizza and already paid give us our pizza, its your fault for closing when you have someones order waiting to be picked up! THEN! We get home and the pizza is so greasy the box is almost ready to break. We ended up throwing away 20 dollars worth of pizza because all we could taste is grease. He obviously did not care how people would think of the pizza or of the business! The only reason we ordered there is because they were open late. The service is great and the pizza is excellent considering the very affordable pricing. I also know that even though it's a franchise it's family owned, which I always view as a positive. They're also open super late which is sweet for late night snacking. I think it's like midnight during the week and 2am Fridays and Saturdays. read more
