Have been coming here every trip to the Keys since 2010. They cook your fresh catch for you and offer many sides, which tacos and onion rings are the best. Service outstanding. If it is hot you can eat upstairs where they have indoor seating and AC. I started coming here 10 years ago for fishing trips and while the charter I take, Mutton To It, changed to a new marina this year, we still came back here to eat. Two dinners actually last week! They even fry your whole fish if you are into that. The snowy grouper we caught, which they cooked, was probably the best cooked fish I've ever had. I love this place. Reasonable prices also. We just arrived in Key West and we understand most restaurants are dog friendly. Our campground host recommended this restaurant because it has outdoor seating and she's been there with her dog. We went in with our 5 lb poodle. We were asked to leave because the restaurant was worried about liability and no longer allowed dogs. Our dogs not welcome, no business from us. You gotta come to this place when you get the chance. I'm down here in Key West as a fun dolor pad trip and I was looking around to find a good bite to eat. Lo and behold I found this place in Yeplp. It's located inside the Hurricane Hole Marina Complex and it has access to walk ins and those docking their boats here. Anyhow I had myself the fish and chips and by was I surprised! The battered fish just melts in your mouth. Oh man it was so good. The fries were good but so much better when you dipped it in the tartar sauce. I really recommend it if you are in this area. All the food looks good and they have a good selection of beers. I had myself one called Sunfish and I recommend it if you like Amber ales. For the dessert I had Key Lime pie and it was delicious. Seriously if I could give negative stars, I would! Food isn't good and service is even worse! After waiting over 10 minutes with all waitstaff staring at us I had to go ask if there was service at our table. Then, a girl came over with a major attitude and when I said we needed drinks, she promptly turned around walked away like that meant we didn't nerd anything! I called after her and said "excuse me, we still need to order" and her attitude turned even nastier. I was about to lose my sh*t on her. Then, a totally different server brought my son a Coke instead of water, along with our drinks so they could charge us for his drink. DO NOT GO HERE. Additionally, when we were here earlier for lunch, their menu was obviously changed from when other Yelp reviewers were here... and the food wasn't fresh... at all! We stopped by here on our way out of Key West, and we are glad we did! We brought our fresh caught fish and they cooked it up perfectly, offering several different ways, we opted for grilled and blackened- both were delicious. Our waiter Goran helped us with our choices and everything was perfect! Drinks were cold and delicious and stayed full, kids menu items were just right, Mac-n-cheese for one and a grilled chicken salad for the other, Goran offered suggestions to get things just right for the picky eaters. We will definitely come back here next time we are in town, and hopefully Goran will be here too! If you catch some fish while in the keys and want to enjoy it fresh, bring it here and let them cook it up, they won't disappoint you! The sides were great too! Went there tonight for dinner and they had Yellow Tail Snapper as fish of the day so i ordered it. Well what I got was Mangrove or Grey snapper a far lesser fish. When I questioned the server she said the Chef said it was Yellow Tail. Well I live here and have ate and cleaned many of both and that was not firm Yellow Tail snapper but it was mussy Mangrove snapper. I could even tell by the shape of the fillets. I would not use this place for group spot or event lunch. I was told over 1 1/2 months ago to email the restaurant so the owners could talk to me about my event lunch. I guess the managers don't have much say so on what they can or can't handle or do for a group lunch spot. I emailed them 1 1/2 months ago with no reply to my email that I did through there website. A week ago I sent another asking if they got my email with no reply. So I called the restaurant last week and talked to a young lady very nice and was told to call back on Tuesdays because the owners are at the restaurant then. Called today asking for the owner and got the same cocky manager as I did the first time. He Told me if they didn't reply to my emails then they prob are not interested. Instead of calling me by my name he called me bud super unprofessional. He could have said let me go ask or see what I can find out for you sorry about this. So now for one I'm not sure if the owners didn't get my emails or if they don't have the decency to at least reply with something. If "just two" do not expect to have wait staff notice you during spring break. Happened Sunday and today. Once again the larger parties were waited on and served drinks while "just two" were ignored. Sunday we gave up and left because we could not get a server to take our order. This was even after someone asked if we had been helped and stated someone would be over to take care of us. No one ever came and after seeing that everyone who had arrived after us (multiple tables) had drinks and had ordered their food, we went finally gave up. So we decided to give the Hurricane Hole another chance as we really like the food. We thought maybe tonight things would be back to how they had been so many times before. Once again we sat down and waited and waited for a server. Eventually someone did ask if we had been helped (we said no) and he asked how many in our party (we said two, he said "just two"? Yes, just two) and he said someone would take care of us. No one came. As Happy Hour was about to end and still trusting that someone would wait on us, I went to the bar to order drinks so that they would still be within Happy Hour. I even told the bartender that I was getting the order in before happy hour ended. By the time she made the drinks and rang them up, the cash register ticket is printed as one minute after happy hour. Did bartender Jenna S re-price the drinks to happy hour prices? No. The bartenders and management at the Salty Oyster over at the Perry Hotel understand that customers are not happy when the drink is priced when it is rang up after having been made rather than at the price it was when ordered. At the Salty Oyster we have always been given the happy hour drink price in effect when the drink was ordered even if it was rung up after happy hour without having to ask. Heidi and Zach work very hard to take care of customers at the Salty Oyster and are a joy to have as your server. They are hard working, take care of all of their customers, and there is more of a team feel there. The food and drink specials are good there and we eat there a lot due to the good food and great service. I do not know why the Hurricane Hole does not understand customer service makes happy customers who tell others which brings in new customers and also retains current customers. Back to dinner at the Hurricane Hole. Luckily some other people sat at the large table tonight after we had been there for another 20 minutes so it appeared that we were more than "just two". You could see the disappointment that it was one party of two and another party of three when the waitress came shortly after the other party sat down. She did serve us, although some things were very slow to come. The creme burlee is wonderful at the Hurricane Hole, so after dinner we ordered tonight's special flavor. From past experience at this restaurant we know that they have them pre-made, so usually they are at the table in no time. Not tonight--it took forever for it to arrive. They were happy to see "just two" in December, January, February and first part of March and would wait on us and not ignore us. I can only guess that spring break business somehow has made "just two" undesirable to the wait staff. Still good food and drinks when wait staff will wait on you. I guess we need to take our money to places that wait staff will serve "just two". Too bad, we have enjoyed going to the Hurricane Hole for four months (I really like the fresh catch lemon caper bowl and recommend it if someone will wait on you), but now it appears we will not be wasting our time and tying up a table that no one we wait upon because there are "just two". I hope that this helps other couples not waste their time waiting for service that will not come when you are "just two." read more

You don't have to eat on Duval Street or a five star restaurant to have a FABULOUS meal! We had lunch twice in the 3 days we were here. The salads are Huge and delicious. The chopped salad with shrimp was #1 favorite. Calamari was perfection. Try their homemade tarter sauce instead of the marinara. Conch chowder was excellent as was the mahi bites. We had four other family members with us, one who has a severe allergie to gluten. The food was that good AGAIN and they offered gluten free food!
