Ambiance: very nice! Wood tables and comfortable booths. Casual and comfortable and clean. Service: order at the window and they bring to your table. Self serve on beverages, napkins, and utensils. Staff was nice. Food: this is mixed. I got the Baby Shark which is 6 fried shrimp and a piece of fried flounder, comes with 1 side and 3 hush puppies. The shrimp and flounder were nicely cooked without heavy breading. The hush puppies were weird. They were cooked but had almost a beer batter thick outside and the inside tasted almost like raw meal or flour. Tasted greasy but they were not visibly greasy. Since it's their namesake, one would think the hush puppies would be great. I couldn't eat them. The fries had batter on them. They were crispy. I prefer no batter on fries but for those who like that, you'd probably like them. Now the sauces: the tartar was too salty and was missing something that I couldn't figure out. The cocktail sauce was also too salty but did have a nice horseradish kick. There was something missing from it too that I couldn't put my finger on. Always a great stop through for lunch. The nachos could be creamier as the sharp cheese dries them out fast and not easy to come back to and eat later but she hot they are good. Great lunch date! Upon arrival, we were greeted and the staff explained the menu. The restaurant was clean and located in a plaza with plenty of parking. For appetizers, we ordered the new 6pc crab bites. They were flavorful and accompanied with a house made dipping sauce. Our entrees were the Baby Shark platter and fried shrimp and oysters basket. The smoked Gouda grits were delicious but the Mac & cheese missed the marking. The portion sizes were good and the pineapple mimosa was tasty. Great place if you enjoy seafood! read more

I went to this location based off of a recommendation from a family member. This setting is nice and had plenty of seating inside and outside. There's a sign near the front entrance that lets you know to go place your order in the back. I got the flounder basket (1piece) with 1 side. I got a kid's hamburger with fries and a baby shark (flounder and shrimp) with 1 side. My flounder was ok. I did not like the mac & cheese. It could been one that's prepared for the seafood version so if that's the case I think that should be noted on the menu. I don't feel the taste of our food matched the price. I don't mind paying for good food, but it has to blow me away especially if the portions don't match either. They have a few different types of hushpuppies so I got regular & cinnamon crunch. It gave us a sense of privacy and protection from the crowd and germs (yes, I was that mom, and I'm not sorry ). The restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I love my wife to take me here because she wanted to try it out. On arrival it looks pretty basic as a seafood Hangout but didn't look like it was a place that was too expensive. Just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover because I might as well have been at an upscale downtown restaurant based on the price. The food was good but you didn't get the amount to compensate for the price you pay. My goodness is this place great! I have never had bad food here. Tonight I ordered the fish tacos with garlic butter and some pepper jack cheese grits, and it was absolute heaven. I know some people in there, and they are just friendly as heck and the awesome thing is they remembered me. The food is just so good. Then we split their flounder sandwich. I'm glad we tried the croquettes, they were good and unique, but I'd pick another appetizer next time. The flounder sandwich was really good. The fish was deep fried just right, and came with lettuce and purple onion on a soft bun. The service was outstanding. You order at the counter and then return to your table. Being located close to the Atlantic Ocean has its advantages such as local, fresh off the boat, less expensive seafood. Hushpuppies hits on the first too but you are paying for it for sure. Hushpuppies is a stand in line, order at the counter, food brought to the table restaurant. During our experience we started at the door upon arriving standing in line and 40 minutes later made it to the front for ordering. With as few parties as were in front of us and two registers going, this was a long time in my opinion. The seafood wallpaper was a neat touch that i had not seen before that added a fun element to the dining experience. A drink and sauce station is available for self service as well as your utensils and napkins. The food was prepared and arrive about 10 minutes after ordering. I ordered the shrimp and hot honey grits. It was a nice twist of a classic Charleston dish. The shrimp were nice sized, just enough honey to sweeten the dish but not over power and the heat was spot on. We were never checked on after the meal was dropped off until they wanted to turn over the table and move our empty dishes to move in new patrons. Only reason for the rating is for the pricing, its over priced for what you receive, the 40 minutes waiting in line to order and no table service. Just my opinion. read more

Went there yesterday evening for what was supposed to be my birthday dinner. This is the second time I have been to this restaurant. The first time the food was awesome which is why I chose to go there last night. I ordered the shrimp and grits sampler. The hot honey, which I thoroughly enjoyed the first visit, was just not good. The sauce looked and tasted burnt. I almost couldn't eat it. The buffalo was alright. Not spectacular. Also, the grits almost had a slight spoiled taste. The biggest turn-off was the presentation. Both were served in what looked like small metal dig food dishes. Not appetizing at all. Both of my friends that joined me order shrimp baskets which they said were just okay. The biggest factor for us all was the fact that the prices were comparable to dining in a full service restaurant but getting more of a fast food take-out vibe. I have no problem paying for a slightly expensive meal if I am getting the quality and see for the price. The food was very good! I had the fried shrimp and my husband had the fried oysters. All of the fried food was crispy and hot. The coleslaw was a little sweet and tangy. The hush puppies were crispy on the outside and not dry on the inside. Try the pup sauce with them! Outstanding! I like how they've remodeled the inside of this building. It's comfortable and clean. Super excited for this establishment! I have been twice now. I love the interior and the atmosphere. The decor is modern, beachy, seafood, and southern. It is fast and casual. I am here for that. The line can be long, but it does move quick. The staff is outstanding. Everyone is always welcoming and helpful. There is plenty of seating options once you order and grab your table number. The food comes out quick and hot. The portions are huge. I have never been able to finish my food here. I do wish they served half portions. I ordered the fried shrimp last time and it was just so much! I would rather have had a half order so I could enjoy an appetizer or another menu item. There is a drink and sauce station for your choosing for your meals as well as napkins and silverware. They do have some beer and wine that you can order at the register but not a full bar. The only downfall for me is the prices. For it being fast and casual and going with a family or even as a my husband and I went the first time, the prices are a bit high. When my husband and I went we just got two meals and two non alcholic drinks and it was over $60. That is Charleston prices where you sit down.
