Just got a new main batt. on my 2005 Prius. The technician, Punjab, was quick, organized, and focused. In and out in less than an hour, including all the questions I had for him. I'll update if I find problems. But I believe their warrant service is credible because they have mentioned it a few times. If I have any concerns, I will update the post, but I'm not expecting any. They came out to replace our battery. We paid extra to have them drive down to us in Fremont for safety reasons. They installed the new battery within less than two hours then they closed up the drunk. There was one piece of patch missing from the fabric cover drove my car down to Southern California, the battery only lasted two weeks before this light for the hybrid came back on. They want us to drive eight hours back to a Fairfield to get the new battery replaced when they already have told me it's an unsafe car to drive when the hybrid light comes on, I would never use them. I wish I had read the other one star review because that is way more accurate, don't waste your money using these guys. read more

They put their best foot forward with their website. So my first impression was that it was a professional business. Their options and pricing was clear and concise on the website. My second impression was their customer service on the phone. They were polite, professional, and able to answer all my questions. The price I got over the phone matched what I found on their website. Speaking of price they averaged about $1,000 cheaper than all of the competitors. Seemingly for the same service and warranty. When I showed up to their shop, I begin to understand why. It's a very small business with no waiting room or office. When I arrived the gentleman there did not speak English. I became wary. But since I drove almost 2 hours to get there I felt like I should take a chance. I was able to get the same person on the phone that I had spoken to many times previously, and he sent me the work order to sign electronically. I left the guy there with my key and got a ride to a local coffee shop to wait. They originally wanted me to drop it off and come back the next day. But after explaining I would have to drive an hour and 45 minutes each way, they agreed to have it ready by the end of business day on the same day I brought it there. I wasn't confident that it would be done, but I was very relieved to get the call at 5:45 that it was ready. Here's some objective facts to describe the results of their service: all fault codes were cleared, and 100% of the vehicles functionality was restored. My trip to their shop with the hybrid system disabled achieved only 21.5 miles per gallon, while my trip home with the new reconditioned battery cells installed achieved 24.5 miles per gallon. Previously the existing hybrid battery never got over 80% charge, and the reconditioned battery goes up to 90% now. I also noticed the vehicle do something I've never seen it do before which was to maintain speeds of 35 to 40 mph entirely on the electric drive system, without the gas engine running. For the money I spent I couldn't be happier with my decision to use this business for the service I needed. If there's any warranty issues I will update this review. But so far, I highly recommend using hybrid battery swap in Fairfield. read more

Update 07-17-2020 Found interior plastic cover wedged down next to 12 volt auxiliary battery for my Toyota Prius. Also no excuse for rubber body molding left off track blocking a door and rear hatch from closing. Owner needs to give workers a bit more time to install hybrid battery pack or retrain. read more

Just got my battery replaced for my 2004 Toyota Prius. Very satisfied with the convenience, timeliness, professionalism, and overall value of the work done. I called on Tuesday, they had an opening and slotted me in for Thursday the same week. After the quick call to asses what work I wanted to get done. Everything else was handled through text message with Contact info, VIN, email, etc. They even followed up with a total cost estimate and confirmed appointment window. I chose a reconditioned battery with a 1-year warranty ($775). Installation was $125. I also didn't want to take the risk of the car stalling on the way to their garage in Fairfield so I requested their mobile installation. It was a reasonable $45 for them to drive out to me in San Francisco and they swapped my battery in my driveway. Day of the appointment, the technician came within the 2hr window as scheduled. He completed the job in 25 mins and explained the warranty and answered several questions I had about if anything were to go wrong with the battery. I decided to drive down to Fairfield and get the one year warranty battery refurbishing,, because I live up in the sierra foothills and it was supposed to only take an hour. When I called them, they said no, it's gonna take a couple of days, so I drove it down and dropped it off and it ended out taking three days. They didn't explain why, but it looked like that had several cars from one company there being worked on. They were hard to find as they have moved three times within a few blocks in the last few years. I found three different addresses. They also didn't have any identifying sign, which made me a little nervous. They didn't tell me anything about what was going on with my car. They just said it's done and gave me the keys, I am getting about 6 miles to the gallon better gas mileage now, but now it seems like I may need a new hybrid converter, as I have had a dead battery a couple of times since this. If it wasn't for the better gas mileage, I would be skeptical about their quality and service. I bought the one year warranty and I'm hoping it will last at least that long for what I paid which was $2000, and this is for the reconditioned battery and not a new one. The price has gone way up compared to earlier reviews and even according to their current website. I will add to this as time goes on to see if this lasts a year or not. read more

In less than a month we started getting the p3013 Prius hybrid battery code.The code specifies that the 3rd bank of the new replaced hybrid battery is the issue, meaning the battery was faulty when installed. I really want to give Hybrid Battery Swap a better review, but I cannot. Everything went very well, the technician came out and had my old used up battery out and the new one back in within an hour. The problems start when the technician was telling me that I would need to drive the car for the warning lights to go off, they all went off except the PS (power steering) light so i did some research and figured I needed to get the power steering fluid replaced, well here's the problem I don't have traditional power steering, all hybrids have power steering motors, meaning they are electric and my runs off of the hybrid battery. I called the owner of Hybrids Battery Swap to ask if he could send the tech back out and look at it to make sure he connected everything back up and the owner told me that he needed a diagnostic trouble code, he recommended me taking it to auto zone for a free diagnostic reading no luck so I took it to Nissan and paid $160 for a diagnosis and it turns out that the technician forgot to plug in not 1 but 3 plugs back in to the battery and that's when I connected the owner again to try and get reimbursed for my troubles and he won't return my calls or texts he won't even apologize for his neglect and unprofessionalism. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a hybrid battery because if something does happen he's not willing to fix it. read more

Update after 1 1/2 years: Right around the 12 month mark, my new battery failed. By the time I was able to get my car into their shop, my 1-year warranty was actually past due, but since I called them before to let them know about the issue, they honored the warranty anyway and replaced the battery for free. Since getting the warranty replacement, the battery has worked well enough. About once every 2-3 months, all the dashboard lights will light up (red triangle, check engine, maint. req, etc) as if I need a battery replacement, but usually within a day, two of the lights will turn off, and within 7-10 days, all the lights will turn off. I'm not sure if this is caused by a loose connection or what, but for the price and service, I'm satisfied. When my battery needs to be replaced again and the lights stay on for more than a couple weeks, I'll check prices and locations (I'm in Oakland, so the trip to Richmond is moderately inconvenient), but I'll definitely keep this shop in mind. Their customer service is great and their work is good, fast, & affordable. read more

You should just buy the brand new battery. I bought the 'one year' battery and it lasted a few months....so I decided to just swap it for a new battery instead of messing around with it. They gave me $250 discount on the new battery. So my $950 battery after three months was worth $250.....So that's why I say just buy the brand new battery to start with. It's not their fault really....I should have went with the new battery to start with. They are fast and friendly so I like them and I don't want to go anywhere else. Also I think the price is the best around.....They are good....just get the new battery and then you don't have to worry about warranty work later on. read more

Update: "rejuvenated" batteries may not last that long, so I had to replace it twice in the 8-month warranty period I chose. My Prius battery died a month ago and I was able to call and get an appointment within the week. They came over to my house to do it and the price was pretty good. They had a bunch of different options so I was able to choose one that I liked especially because the new batteries were too pricey. The mechanic came on time, fixed my car, and left all within the hour. He even scanned my car for free and told me a couple of the other issues with my car. My car has been working great since then and the miles per gallon has even increased by 5. I even called a couple times to ask some questions and they always pick up and are respectful. Started to have problems with the HV battery of my hybrid Altima after it had reached about 140,000 miles. I can read the error codes myself and did some research online, so I knew the battery had to be replaced. The Nissan dealer only offers to replace it with a new one, which is VERY expensive. Instead I have chosen this shop, which offers reconditioned batteries at very affordable prices, installation included. Each price tier comes with a different level of warranty, the minimum one being 45 days/1,500 miles. I have set up an appointment and took my car in. It took about 20 min. to read the codes and run the diagnostics (it takes a bit longer to do this for the Altima). As other reviewers mentioned, the shop offers this service for free. The HV battery itself was replaced in less than one hour. The new one works just great. The gas mileage is (~10%) better than with my previous battery, even when it was new! I would warmly recommend this shop.The staff is very friendly. They are doing a great job and they offer very good prices. read more

I called them up and they came over to my house for a small fee which was cheaper than how much it would've cost me to get the car towed. Also it was nice not to have to go through the hassle of finding their garage. The guys there were really nice and honestly looked like they were experienced and knew what they were doing.
