The O'Reilly products, and the store in Vacaville are fine on all accounts. The reason of my negative review has to do with a bad experience at that particular location, with associate Marlene. I went in to return a product I purchased a week prior, with receipt, and product unused. The associate processed the return but also asked for my phone number. I declined to give my phone number, and I argued that the store where I bought the product (O'Reilly in Napa) asked for my phone number at the time of purchase, however I declined, and they were fine with that. With much arrogance, the associate in Vacaville told me that the Napa store SHOULD have collected my phone number, and she managed to collect my phone number for the return to process. I find that outrageous, unnecessary, and unprofessional. No retailers should hijack phone numbers from their customers. Moreover: purchase was $17.01. Reimbursement came to only $15.13. You've got to be kidding me! 1 star. Thank you. read more

So it's raining and I procrastinated getting my wiper blades. I heard a commercial about Orielly installing blades for you so I pull into the first one I see. With no time to waste, I am greeted by an employee who was barely clocking in, but he was ready to work! I tell him what I need and he does everything else. The only thing that could have made this shopping trip easier was if they had a drive- through. ha! He came outside but he rain and installed my blades in a snap. Would have taken me forever! This place deserves all the stars!!! My car battery died while dropping off my daughter at school this morning. I got a jump and was on my way to O'Reilly when I got a phone call alerting me of a family emergency. I showed up frantic and in tears with my 3 year old son in tow. I asked if they could check my battery and the manager immediately helped me. He could tell I was in distress and made me a priority. My son had no idea we were having a bad morning as they got us change for the candy machine and another nice employee bought him a hot wheel car from the store. Instead of just selling me a battery, they made sure to check if my old one was under warranty- which it was! It is rare to find a place that cared more about the well-being of the customer rather than just making a sale. They went over and above to take care of us. I will go out of my way to give them my business from here on out! read more

This is a good location, of course since it is a auto parts store. I go to this one because they seem to have more of the stuff than the other location here in Vacaville. Are usually tell me to come to this location anyway because they have it in stock versus all of us. Another reason want to come out as for the military discount because it is definitely worth it when you're buying stuff. About 90% of the time the stuff they have here is in stock or if you order before noon you can get everything that you need that same day most of the time so make sure you look for what you need earlier in the morning. read more

Last weekend (a Sunday evening) my family was driving home from Seattle to S.F. and had car trouble as we came through Vacaville. Thank heaven the car gave out where it did because the staff at this shop truly came to the rescue. It was hot, we had been in the car for over 10 hours and our kids were exhausted. Alex went so far above and beyond to help us get back on the road. It restored my faith in humanity for this young guy to take the time to help us in our time need. He so easily could have watched us fumble around trying to figure out what was wrong, but he put his expertise to good use and believe it or not after all was said and done the repair was a $2.88 bolt. This one star rating is not actually for the whole store, just the line of automotive products O'Reilly sells under the "Microguard" brand. When this place was still Kragen Auto Parts, I've never had a bad experience with filters. Kragen sold mainly Fram Filters and that was fine with me. I recently picked up a fuel filter for a '69 VW Bug. It was a Microguard brand since O'Reilly no longer sells the Fram brand oil or fuel filters anymore. I put this new filter on the car and immediately began having problems keeping the engine running. After 30 frustrating minutes, I decided to throw the old FRAM fuel filter back on the Bug... engine runs smooth again. WTF? In my almost 30 years of auto repairing experience, I NEVER picked up a bad fuel filter til now. STICK WITH THE NAME BRANDS FOLKS! SAVE YOURSELVES THE HEADACHE OF WHAT I WENT THROUGH! read more

I came in and asked if they had my car battery in stock and them telling me they had it they were gona charge me wevice fee. I asked if they could help me install it and was told my 2015 versa was to new and could help but they would lend me the tools. They didnt even have the tools i needed to help myself. They didnt wanna help me. They are unenthusiastic and i feel they dont care very much at all about customers they are just clocking in for the hourly pay. I needed a new battery for my car. I had to jump it this morning so I decided to drive directly to O'Reilys where I've done lots of business in the past. I asked the old man at the counter if they had a battery to fit my car. He looked it up and said they did - $139.00. I said, "Ok, can you install it for me?" He said, "Nope, we don't do that anymore because of Covid." Mind you I'm a 67 year old female standing there with no tools. I said, "I had to jump it to get it here!" He said, "Sorry". I find it interesting that, though no one working there was wearing a mask and they were not asking anyone else to wear one. They did have decals on the floor and a make-shift table in front of the registers for social distancing. But, come on, you can't step outside in the warm, fresh air and install a battery for an old lady? I'd have gladly waited either inside my car or at least 6 feet away! I WILL NOT EVER patronize this store again! I had to call my daughter to stop what she was doing and come jump my battery so that I could drive it across the street to Les Schwab where they are extremely friendly and are accommodating me while I sit in their air conditioned showroom. Please provide customer service training to your employees before putting them behind the counter! I go in there to return a product with the actual receipt, and your cashier/salesman tells me straight away this is not our product, we don't sell these. I was shocked and asked him to check the receipt and the product. In reply he tells me we don't want an argument. I had to talk back to him in his tone and asked him to check your system before you tell me this is not your product and not to argue with him. Seriously?? He then took 15 minutes to check the product and match it on his system and then provide the refund. read more

-RUDE -PETTY -ATTITUDE PROBLEMS I had a lifetime warranty on an alternator, so I ordered a new one in the morning with no hassle from a friendly gentleman. I was told the alternator would arrive around 3pm. Then, 3:30 passes and no calls, so I called to follow up and some lady said that the delivery guy will be 10 minutes late and they will call me back when the parts arrive. Then, 4:30 passes and NO phone call from them. I finally walked in there around 5pm, and a short Latino guy was giving me an attitude, his name was LUIS, and was giving me a hard time about not having a receipt for the alternator that I bought 4 years ago. I told him to check the computer to see that my information would be there, but he still insisted that I should have kept my old receipt. I told him for the third time to check the computer, regardless my info would be in the computer. Finally, he had no choice but to give me the new alternator because my information WAS in the computer! Then, he tells me that sometimes that there computer doesn't always work and that's why they need the receipt. However, that's not my problem, and I've worked for an O'reilly store myself when I was younger and we never had that problem. The computers always worked fine, and his computer was working. There was no need for him to give me a "know it all attitude" repeatedly. The guy had serious control issues. I never had this attitude problem at any O'reilley stores. He acted like he didn't want my business. This idiot jokes about racism to other customers and employees, what does that have to do with his job? Everyone was friendly there except for that LUIS guy I encountered. The guy seems like he hates his job. His job is to sell the parts, and be helpful to customers not rude. It's not my problem, that he hates is job. He needs to pay his dues and go to school if he want a better job. This is what I hate about unionized jobs, peons like him ruin businesses. read more

The best Customer Service experience I have ever had -- Luis, THANK YOU! In route to Lake Tahoe through Vacaville when the battery died in our Cadillac Escalade at Chick-Fil-A. I took a Lyft to O'Reilly and was greeted by Luis, who sold me new battery and some tools to replace. Took Lyft back to Chick-Fil-A to replace battery only to discover that alternator was also bad. Drove back to O'Reilly and again Luis was there to help. Sold me the alternator and convinced me that I could replace it (I'd never replaced an alternator before) -- and here's the amazing part...Luis would help me! In the O'Reilly parking lot, Luis proceeded to basically teach me how to replace an alternator and not only helped me do it, but also supplied personal tools from his car to assist. An hour later, me, my wife and dog Murphy were on our way to Tahoe. Luis, THANK YOU again, the world needs more people like you. read more
