Looks are deceiving!!! My pal and I walk this mall as it's a great place to walk indoors during the Summer Months. We decided to stop here for a bite to eat and I'm glad that we did! We watched the fellas make the bowls first to make sure we'd want to try it and the I ordered the Mac bowl with short ribs. The bowls are adorable as they come in the form of heart shaped . You have choices of cheese, meat and other vegetables as somewhat, of an assembly line process. Although, it doesn't appear very appealing, it was the bomb!!! Short version: if I could give half stars, I would have chosen 2-1/2. My meal had slightly more flavor than my sisters (she was singularly unimpressed w/ hers). Neither of us have even a small spark of interest in returning. Longer version: I don't enjoy rating 3-stars or less but I cannot in good conscience rate higher. We stopped in last night as a last-minute decision. First thing we eyed was the large parking lot with plenty of spaces; followed by the long, shared patio (there are two other restaurants in the building); and walking inside was a brightly lit, and colorful environment. Empty of people. But being the holiday weekend, that's no surprise. The menu is fairly extensive & building your own bowl has quite a few options, could take some time trying to decide what works well together. The music in the background was good ol' 80s tunes but was rather loud, making it difficult to hear the young gentleman behind the counter. They have Coke products, so that was a win! We placed our orders, sat at a high top, & the guy brought our orders to the table. Unfortunately, it only took three bites from my sisters plate (sammich, tots, bacon jalapeno bites) and two of mine (build your own bow, tots) to determine everything was rather tasteless. there was no seasoning to the tots (I didn't even taste salt), they were not crispy (not soggy, either, but closer to sog than crisp). I dipped my tots in the cheese sauce they gave my sister & that sauce looked and tasted like watered down, melted cheese. Bleck! I eventually asked for a small dipping container of the sesame ginger dressing but that did not help the tots as I had hoped. Not being wasteful people, and hoping we could stomach the leftovers later, we did not toss the food in the trash but opted to bring it home. With any luck, adding some seasonings (I even suggested movie popcorn seasonings!) will salvage the remaining food ... we both only ate about half of our meals. So, although a disappointment, it was not the worse place we have dined at. But it also was not a good enough place either of us feel like giving another try. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! We waited for the employee to get off his phone before he took our order. As we're waiting, we noticed a white film on the noodles. THEN A COCKROACH CRAWLED ACROSS THE COUNTER!!!! The employee didn't act concerned a bit (must happen a lot) and just grabbed the roach with his bare hand, threw it away, and continued to make our food without washing his hands. We paid 40 dollars for 2 bowls of the worst mac and cheese i've ever eaten. No amount of salt and pepper could fix what they served us. My family and I were at the mall to do some shopping and my littles got hungry. We ended up at I Heart Mac And Cheese because they wanted, you guessed it, Mac and Cheese. Well, we stood in line while the patrons in front of us ordered at the register. Mind you, there were associates lined up against the counter looking at my family and I; not one word was said to us. There was also a sign that said "Order here" where we were at (at the end of the counter/line). Still, no one greeted us or asked how they could help us so we figured we ordered at the register as well-- just like all the other customers before us. When it's our turn at the register, we order but the guy at the register, Forrest, tells us we were supposed to order at the end of the counter where the "Order here" sign is. Also, where there were employees standing just staring at us. So we go back, place an order and the young gal who is manning the macaroni noodle station (I didn't catch her name but she is caucasian, a little heavier with short hair almost like a boy cut) grabs a plate, looks us in the eye straight faced and basically plops the frozen noodles on the plate. (The only way I can describe how she did it is how those disgusting looking, miserable lunch ladies in movies would plop food onto a lunch tray would.) I looked at her shocked and almost immediately, my teen tells me, "Wow, so much attitude." The same gal manning the macaroni station heard, gave a fake smile and nodded yes. My 2 kids and husband placed an order with her and she acted the same way all three times. After seeing her act that way during the second plate, I knew I didn't want to place an order there. (I actually went across the food court to Rubios instead.) The food itself came in cute heart shaped bowls. That was the ONLY pleasant part of the experience. My husband and kids all tried something different but they all said there was practically no flavor. My youngest had regular plain mac and cheese and there was barely any cheese on the noodles. Sadly they ended up tossing their food. Major waste of $$. I will say, my husband, kids and I were excited to try this place because it was new. Based off the experience we had, we will never go back again. The Mac and cheese at Villa is waaaaay better than I Heart Mac and Cheese. Heck, my family would even choose boxed Mac and cheese over this place. No thanks. read more

i honestly don't think i've ever regretted a mac and cheese purchase until today. incredibly bland and overpriced.

The staff at this location need retraining ASAP. I ordered the Vegan Melt (which was a splurge anyway, being that it is nearly $20 for just a sandwich) and the first employee seemed annoyed by my order. He got out the bread and the cheese and left it out while he went to finish someone else's food as it came out of the little toaster oven. He asked the employee at the register to work on it when he was done with his customers. This employee was wearing gloves while using the register, handling money and scratched his face a couple of times. He finished with the customers ahead of me and came over and pulled the cheese out of the package without changing his gloves. I told him I no longer wanted the food since he didn't change gloves and he looked at me like I was stupid. Be very cautious here and make sure they are doing the bare minimum to handle your food safely. I would be extremely hesitant to ever give it another chance due to the prices, the attitude and the lack of good sanitation practices. read more

Went here after shopping for shoes. 1st thing when it was our turn to order the kid is just sitting there. No getting, how are you doing anything. I look at my son then look at the kid then my son tells him what he wants. When we were paying the other worker asked what we ordered. In tell him my order then my son tells him his. He then asked my son what did you order again. Well maybe if you didn't have an AirPod in your freaking ear you would have heard. While we were waiting for our order one of them was standing there eating cookies, drinking water then started rubbing his nose. This was the same guy that made my grilled cheese. I have family that works in the food industry that's not a good look. If you're on break eat in the back, greet people ask how can I help you or what would you like to order.
