This place has my favorite taro milk drinks! The taro is ALWAYS fresh (or maybe frozen? but it's always real taro and not the gross powder stuff that other bubble tea places sometimes use). The taro milk drinks and purple rice drinks are so good at i'Milky. I've tried some of their other drinks but I still think the taro ones are their strong suit. This is a small place -- there is a small area you can sit, but I'd recommend coming here for grab and go since most of the times that I've been here, there were no available seats. We were walking around Manhattan and worked up a thirst. I had a craving for a cold and refreshing bubble tea or slush. Got on my trusty Yelp app and looked up boba and quite a few places popped up. Most of the places were chains that we have back in Houston. I sought out something new to me and I'Milky in Midtown was what I settled on. There was some construction happening on the building and scaffolding made it slightly difficult to locate. I guess I'm used to somewhat spacious boba shops back in Texas because this place was tiny. As you walk in, the ordering counter is to your right with barely any room to maneuver and off to the left is a very small seating area. Customer service was really lacking here. As soon as we walked in they were ready to take our order. No hi or asking if it's our first time to see if we need help with the menu. We felt rushed. I mentioned that I wanted something without dairy and more on the refreshing, fruity side. The employee immediately suggested the Golden Mango Slush. In my years of drinking boba, a slush is usually a blended, fruity drink with no dairy whatsoever. What I got was a milk heavy drink with mango slush on top. Now, I take the blame for blindly saying yes to something I've never had, but at the same time, the employee suggested it knowing what I was looking for. Milky is in the name, but I wasn't expecting a drink that I only taste milk in. It was neither refreshing or good. I ended up throwing it away not even half way through and still craving a cold and refreshing drink. This place seems like a popular spot, but it is definitely a one and done for me. Super cute boba shop! I happened to walk right by it as I was making my way back to the hotel and so I turned around and popped right in. The employees were friendly and greeted me right away. There was no line when I walked in but as I waited for my drink the line started to get long. Came around 8:30pm on a Friday night and there were only 1-2 people in line. However the seating was all taken since there are only 3 tables. Since we went in December, the store had some holiday/seasonal drinks so my bf and I ordered the chestnut chocolate milk tea and the strawberry matcha tea. The chestnut chocolate milk tea looked pretty with a generous helping of chestnut cream at the top but the drink itself is basically like chocolate milk. Don't recommend this drink I should've went with an oolong or green milk tea instead. The strawberry matcha is pretty classic and as expected. My bf ordered this one mainly for the snowman cup! It's a super cute reusable cup that comes with a crown and scarf. I believe there are different variations too! And you can ask to include the snowmen cup for your drink for an extra ~$3.
