They close at 11 PM every night, which is a lot later than most of their other locations. Ordering is online or through their kiosk, I ordered online ahead of time because I know they take awhile at this location - I still had to wait a bit after arriving. I was in the area finishing up errands and wanted a quick late night boba before heading home, so I stopped by here. I ordered my usual, a jasmine milk tea with boba & grass jelly. The milk tea was on the creamier side with a subtle tea taste to it - it tasted okay, but better than usual. Definitely the worst itea location! Not only did it take like 25 minutes to get my drink even though i ordered ahead, I kept waiting because the worker was making drinks which is understandable. But at the same time she came up to the register and was getting the stickers for the drinks just to ignore me and this DoorDash person. But when I got it at this location, they didn't even have the sippy lid and when the girl gave me the drink the cream already combined with the tea so it was just a milk tea at that point and not the experience you usually get with the drink which is sipping it. I try the drink and it was okay, but what threw me off was there was literal CHUNKS of cream cheese at the bottom and it was just not good at all. I was pleasantly surprised that ordering is done through two touchscreens and ordering to a live person has gone away. Not so much of a fan for this boba place. But my niece was shopping in the area and decided to get some drinks and drop mines over to me while I was at work. She got me a passion fruit iced tea with boba and aloe. The tea was good but I could do without the boba. I tried a couple of my niece's popcorn chicken or whatever it was. It was a bit dry and too salty for my taste. My niece wasn't too happy with her drink either. I took a sip of her avocado smoothie. Tasted like not enough avocado about it. If you're going to say it's an avocado smoothie, then it should taste like avocado. It seemed more like just sweetened milk with a tinge of light green look to it. Tbh I don't know how to feel, I LOVED this place. Used to take 15min tops to get my order. But now it's just a pain in the ahh if I want their products. We ordered the basil popcorn chicken, Taiwanese tempura, and a jasmine green boba milk tea. The popcorn chicken was made with chicken breast and was fresh from the fryer, but it was a bit dry, bland, and didn't have any basil. The Taiwanese tempura, which is similar to fish cake, was also hot but not particularly flavorful. Our favorite item was definitely the drink since you could really taste the jasmine tea and the boba was cooked perfectly. Their payscreen machine totally didn't work. I stayed there for about a half hour taking a zoom call, the staff gave me my chicken half way into my call which was nice, but they completely forgot my boba order! Not terrible, the food was fine (chicken plentiful as expected for such a large portion which I gobbled up) and the guava fruit tea with boba was goood. The boba absorbed the guava flavor, which is saying a lot as not all boba is created equally and many don't absorb the flavor of the fruit teas well. Just dinging the points since there were two machines, one was out of order and the other wouldn't take any of my credit or check cards, sliding them, inserting with the chip or without (touch less), and my boba portion of my order was forgotten. Regardless of that the food and boba are priced, but a good decent serving and yummy so it makes up for it. Also I didn't see the wifi anywhere so had to tether from my phone as I jumped on a call, so they could have posted it up somewhere. I only come to this place for the popcorn chicken. I've tried various boba flavors here but it's just too sweet. I usually get the jasmine milk tea at 25% sweet, and it's still tooo sweet! Because of that, I almost never get the drinks here anymore. I love their popcorn chicken as well as their curly fries. The popcorn chicken has a wonderful flavor, it's white meat (which I prefer), and they usually put lots of garlic and basil in it. However as you can see in the photo I've attached, they didn't put any garlic and I only saw two strands of basil. They're pretty inconsistent which is why I gave 3 stars. Their curly fries are good too, fried to perfection and they add a sweet bbq and Mayo sauce on the top with some furikake seasoning. This review is purely based on their brown sugar boba latte drink. Hands down the best Brown Sugar Boba I've ever had, and I've probably tried over a dozen other ones. Super creamy and impeccable milk quality. The boba balls are textured perfectly and the brown sugar flavor really shines through. Definitely on the sweet side so I'd recommend getting less sugar. Look, the product itself is great. The quality is top, but it's a chain location, so this review will be comparing this location to all the other iTea locations I've been to. We headed to this one because the closest one to me (San Leandro Location) is closed on Mondays. Normally when I goto iTea, I call ahead to place my order so I can pay and leave immediately when I get there. I called this location about 10 times and they never answered. We get there and we place our orders and the self-service machine. While Im here I try and call to see if there even is a call. And would you believe it, I hear ringing coming right next to the register. After ordering I ask the workers if they have a phone, letting them know I normally call the other location to place my order ahead of time. And they tell me "Oh, we do but our boss tells us not to answer it" What? Why would your boss tell you that? The faces on the workers there tells me they were also confused by their boss' instruction. After a while, we get our order, 2 orders of popcorn chicken, and let me tell you. The chicken was great, but it's great at all the locations. What bothered me was the lack of chicken. Other locations I've been to, the box is filled above the brim of the box of chicken. Here? The box is just above halfway full. Tl;dr: - it's strange that the boss tells them not to answer the phone, because why would you have a phone? - the food quantity is less than other iTea locations. During this pandemic, they are following the requirement of masks and gloves and limited people inside. It seemed pretty still busy at this location. They barricaded the seating area and had somewhat a waiting area. They even have a plastic wall cover when placing your order. The problem with the clear plastic wall to cover the staff is the staff will have a hard time hearing you. They should have a monitor screen to show what you ordered so it won't be any issue with your order. Well, we placed our order and they ok'd everything we ordered but they got it wrong. They did not clarify what we ordered so when we got our ordered, we asked what this was and it was not even close to what we ordered, we'll what my husband ordered. He ordered an avocado smoothie with no boba. He got a Hokkaido Frosty & Creamy! How is that the same as Avocado Smoothie?? And even after making a mistake on the order, they didn't even redo the drink. It took another 15 min wait for our drink. Good thing I still like some of their drinks especially the Mando Sago but their prices got really expensive and there are more places to get certain drinks for cheaper will make me want to go to another place especially after our last experience here. I ordered their hot chocolate latte drink, a popcorn chicken, and my boyfriend ordered the taro milk tea. I was extremely disappointed in my drink because it was barely warm and definitely nowhere near hot, and I wanted a hot drink to warm me up for the cold night. I had my boyfriend try it too and he helped ask the employees for a new one which they kindly remade. Unfortunately, they brought out the new one even with microwaving the ingredients and it came out colder than my previous one and didn't taste as good either. The drinks I got with 80% sweetness and 50% ice in the oolong, but I couldn't adjust the ice on the brown sugar. Popcorn chicken was just ok, I liked that it had basil and the portion was generous, but was a tad dry and bland even though I added chili and pepper from the shakers. However, the drinks impressed me. The boba was nicely sweet and a touch on the soft side, but tasted fresh. The kreama on the oolong was very rich and not too salty, unlike some other places with cheese foams. The brown sugar boba was also very good, a nice milky sweetness with plenty of boba.
