As someone thinking of moving to Madison, this microcosm of the town may have solidified my choice! A giant hall with Ian's pizza as the centerpiece for us all to partake in communion of cheese in pie form. The pizza: sometimes crazy pizza styles like ravioli, potato, or mac n cheese can be seen as gimmicks- not the case here. Each ingredient gets attention and is not simply dropped onto a pizza. The sauce changes accordingly. Even the marinara for the ravioli pizza tasted a little more hearty than the classic pepperoni sauce. The sauce and crust alone for the mac n cheese pizza was buttery and rich. ALL THIS FOR $5??(plus 50 cents). Everyone on staff was kind/welcoming and quick getting all of the orders. Seating was plentiful and eating amongst locals, you will feel the chill vibes emanate. Nobody was loud or boisterous, just enjoying their slice and soda. Do yourself a favor and visit this feed mill with many other delights (ice cream, beer, board games, coffee) to explore! Only note to ownership: writing out the different styles on the pizza partition glass could help people when selecting and save staff from being asked 'which one is that?' all day. read more

MAGNIFICENT experience! So i'm from italy.. and i'm italian 100%, just visiting the states and i can confidently say this pizza was wow. Not italian at all ok but so so so good in its own way. This is one of my favorite pizza places in Madison! The location is fantastic, as it's inside Garver Feed Mill, with plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating available when the weather is nice. Parking can be a little crowded, especially during peak hours, but we've been able to find a spot during each of our visits so far. We have a toddler, so we are always looking for places where we can grab a meal, eat comfortably, and leave whenever we need to. This place is perfect for that. The Smokey the Bandit is my favorite pizza, but other options, including the Mac & Cheese and Buffalo Chicken pizzas, are also delicious. When you place your order at the counter, they send you a text message when your food is ready, so you can find a seat and relax while you wait. Individual slices are usually available right away, while a whole pizza takes a little longer to prepare, but the wait is generally very reasonable. I highly recommend this place for families with toddlers. There's plenty of space to move around with a stroller, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming, relaxed, and family-friendly. read more

So impressed with all the vegan options!!! We felt the prices were extremely reasonable and we just ordered from our phone and went to pick it up, nice and easy! As someone who eats a lot of pizza, I was pleasantly surprised by the food at Ian's Pizza. This is two fold -- because of the tasty and fluffy dough which is evident in their delicious breadsticks and also because of the unique flavor options that include everything from Mac 'n Cheese to BBQ to Gyro to Cajun to Hawaiian -- often with a unique twist to them. The pizza itself is really fun to eat which huge slices and a thickness that provides just enough firmness but isn't overly salty or saucy. It's easy to eat a lot of pizza this way as it doesn't feel overly oily, but just satisfying enough to casually keep taking more and more bites. The prices here aren't too bad for the portion sizes as a 20" pizza is plenty to feed 4 ... or 3 people with huge appetites. For our table, we enjoyed the creations to much that there were no leftovers despite not being super hungry before we started eating. read more

I just love this place! This is our go to pizza place located in downtown Madison. The crust is thin, tasty, and fresh! Their toppings range from fresh vegetables, meats, or even Mac and Cheese. Besides pizza, they also offer fresh salads. The restaurant has a fun atmosphere, and can be difficult to get a seat on the weekends. The staff is efficient, and the food is made to order so it may take a minutes to get your order. We enjoy Ian's so much that we also ordered gift cards from their website. Love the Garver Mill location. Great space to hang out and grab a slice. I attended an event and it was super busy but the staff at Ian's did a great job moving the line along quickly. I love that they also have salads as an option and opted for a side Caesar salad and a slice of lots of options to choose from. This time I checked out a taco/fiesta option. Best pizza in Madison, with a large variety of specialty pizzas by the slice or whole pie. You can order online and pick up curbside. They also offer delivery according to a poster I saw in here. There is also ample seating inside Garver Feed Mill, cool place to hang out and a few quirky places around to check out while you're at it. My top two faves are the cheesy potato and the veggie. Ian's Pizza Madison is in a shopping center that is far off the main road. But it's worth the journey to get there. You can order pizza by the slice or by the pie. We ordered the breadsticks. They had a great flavor and a great sauce. We were so impressed with the breadsticks that we went back with our friends to get a half sausage and pepperoni and half barbecue chicken pizza. When in the Madison area, you have to do Ian's pizza. They have three convenient locations. Where else can you get crazy tasty pizza. Some concoctions are never thought of except by Ian's. My top 3 favorite is the cheeseburger, the mac & cheese, and the ravioli pizza. This new location is an awesome place. Scenery is the best with plenty of seating. read more

After exploring the Olbrich Gardens, we came here for lunch. There was a lot of parking available on a Friday for lunch. We ordered up front and got a 12" pizza to share which was plenty of food for 2 people. We made our own pizza with vegan mozzarella, BBQ sauce, bacon, grilled chicken and the ranch sauce on top. We didn't love the ranch sauce, probably would have liked the pizza better without it. The staff were super friendly and I was personally bummed that they were out of the cauliflower. I have not historically been a big fan of Ian's. But. This past week I came across news of how they offer a Lenten special on Fridays and it sounded weird enough to give it a try. Fish. Fry. Pizza. Battered cod, tartar sauce in lieu of marinara, mozzarella, French fries and topped with coleslaw. Weird? Yup. Different? Yup. For everyone? Probably not. But it was AMAZING. Preordered. Delivered on time (actually early) and a super friendly delivery guy. Loved it. Only available til April 15th but so good I am going to try the other menu items again afterwards. read more

Every single aspect of this night out was superb. The entire ambiance of the Garver Feed Mill space is perfect. The blend of events, yoga traffic, parents and kiddos, it's a perfect storm. This location is fantastic.Tucked into beautiful Garver Feed Mill, Ian's Pizza is one of the major focal points in the large space. Very open-spaced area with plenty of seating surrounding the kitchen. Similar to the other Ian's Pizza, you can see the display of pizzas they have available, you choose your slices, and then you walk to the other side of the kitchen to pick up your slice(s) after they've been heated up. Ian's Pizza is known for their flavor combinations and I'm all here for it. I love the fusionist mentality! I liked the BBQ Ranch ones or the taco one. I love their ranch! It is so good, thick, creamy, flavorful, just amazing. I also did not know until now you can get nacho cheese as well! What I've been dying to try the breakfast one with yogurt and berries -- only available Saturday brunch so need to make a stop then! What's also unique about this particular location is not family oriented/kid friendly it is. There are bags of games.toys lined up on the side for kids to enjoy - how fun is that! This would definitely be the spot come summer as there is outdoor seating as well. They're offering carryout and delivery at this location, I believe during this time of social distancing! I mean obviously if you are vegan this is the wrong choice....but if you like meat, stop and try this. It was such a bold choice for a pizza joint. This location of Ian's Pizza is located directly inside Garver Feed Mill. Garver Feed Mill is an event space that has several businesses inside, including Ian's. When you get to Ian's, you can order pizza by the slice. They also have beer taps, salads, and bread sticks. They have several different types of pizzas to choose from. They rotate these pizzas throughout the day. When my family and I went, they had Mac N' Cheese, Taco, Buffalo Chicken, Penne Alfredo, Chicago Dog, Vegan, Veggie, Smoky and the Bandit, and more. I ordered pepperoni and Mac n cheese. We also ordered a Wisconsin' Salad. All the food was devious! The pizzas were brick oven style. The crust was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. You can eat your pizza inside Graver Feed Mill or you can go outside. They have a beautiful outdoor patio which also has live music some night. After 10 minutes of waiting I went to the counter to see where my pizza was. During that 10 minutes they called out each pizza that was placed in the window, in one case even brought it to the table. I went to the counter and the person behind the counter checked the oven and found it way in the back of the oven. Later I was told it was because I didn't wait in front of the window, and they try to "teach" people to wait at the window. read more

Last two visits were awesome! Staff was super friendly, and wearing masks (which is a plus for me). Lots of pizza choices at lunch time, and I learned about flipping the all-cheese slice upside down in the oven to toast the cheese a bit... it was great! Great recommendation after touring the Olbrich Botanical Garden on a scorching day, which happens to be a 5 min walk away. I had the opportunity to try the mac and cheese pizza and the caesar salad that featured hard boiled eggs. Food is pretty good and there are plenty of seats for guests and their families. read more

You can't really NOT like Ian's Pizza... pizza is delicious and their pizza is most certainly above average. While I don't like to be super adventurous in my pizza toppings (I like simple; cheese pizza is one of my favorites) and don't particularly appreciate wacky creations, I very much appreciate OTHER people's appreciation of their wild pizza concoctions. I think anyone who went to UW has at some point in their life eaten the mac and cheese pizza, which is certainly yummy. I certainly would not be upset if I had to eat a slice (mac and cheese and pizza are probably two of my favorite things), but I do kinda prefer to consume those two things separately. Ian's at Garver is very close to where I pick up my kombucha, so every now and then I like to get a bit crazy myself and order Ian's. Like mac and cheese, pasta is also one of my favorite things (theme: CARBS), so I could not say no to something called drunken ravioli pizza with vodka sauce. Another of my favorite things -- tomato sauce, so I usually order extra sauce on any and all pizza. I did that with the drunken ravioli pizza, and in hindsight it was a mistake. However, Ian's staff even called me to clarify what exactly I wanted for extra sauce (I think I chose a sauce through online ordering that didn't actually exist... oops) so I appreciate that. The drunken ravioli pizza is indeed DELICIOUS, but definitely doesn't need extra sauce (and I never say that!). It was soooo filling I actually had half for lunch and half for dinner... and I always eat the full pizza in one sitting. Most recently I ordered the vegan tomato penne or something of that sort. I'm no vegan, but it was the only pizza with penne and marinara instead of alfredo (tomato sauce, remember?). Recalling my previous error, I did not order extra sauce. The pizza was absolutely delicious once again. I ate the entire thing in one sitting, per my norm. The sauce ratio was quite lovely, but I don't think extra sauce would be as overwhelming as with the drunken ravioli. It also had some kind of charred/roasted greens on it, I think kale and spinach. Those are always risky on a pizza because they can be done so poorly, but these were some of the BEST I've ever had. Well done. The Old Garver Feed Mill is such a neat building, and I absolutely love that they restored it. Once we are in a somewhat free COVID world where restaurants open back up, I can't wait to go inside and actually see the place. For now, curbside pickup is easy enough. My pizza is delivered directly to my car and the employee is always wearing gloves and a mask. Hooray for safety. While Ian's is not somewhere I'd go for just a good old cheese pizza or two-topping pizza, it is delicious pizza and their creations are very creative -- definitely worth checking out. read more

Speaking only of this location and only for 2 visits, 1 for a dinner and one for Saturday breakfast during the market. Both were good experiences even when slammed for business. The line moves fast and they keep clear what they need you to do to order pay and pick up your meal. Kind staff and very friendly people. I have gotten a BYO salad which was delicious and good sized and well priced. The Garver feed mill location is superb with a huge outdoor courtyard. We can on the perfect night. I just wish we lived closer! We were able try a variety of their pizzas: mac n' cheese, tomato pesto, veggie, and the Smokey bandit. We also tried two of their salads (Greek and southwestern) and breadsticks with ranch, cheese or marinara dip. The Greek salad was delicious and my favorite pizza by far was the Smokey bandit. The drizzled sweet, creamy sauce on top (not sure what it was) really put it over the top for me. I really wanted to like the Mac n cheese but it was a bit dry for me- needed more cheese or sauce of some sort. Regardless I will definitely be back! read more

Heads up carryout takes an hour even for slices. Plan ahead!!! I have been obsessed with the Garver building since moving to Madison over 20 years ago and now it has one of my favorite pizza joints in it, what could be better!?! Like the other Ian's pizza location they make legit thin crust pizzas with really fun toppings toppings. My favorites are the Mac & cheese with a drizzle of their BBQ sauce on it as well as the bbq chicken. Granted I haven't met a slice from Ian's that I haven't liked! For a bit lighter fare, they have one of the best salad offerings in the area and I love to grab a slice and a salad to balance things out a bit. If you love Ian', this will probably be your favorite one read more

Tucked away on the north side of the Isthmus, Ian's pizza has everything you're looking for when it comes to a huge range of toppings and great service. The bread sticks were fluffy and have a wonderful seasoning on top and a choice of 3 different dipping sauces (marinara, cheese, and ranch)!!!! The southwestern salad was also delicious and a great compliment to any pizza dinner! The pizza was very good, I tried the Mac n' cheese which was tasty but for me could use a little more sauce. Smokey the bandit though hit it out of the park with flavors! The perfect amount of sauce to cheese to meat, hands down one of the best bbq style pizzas I have had in a long time. Wanted to try another delivery pizza place last night, and was happy to see Ian's at this location close to me! It was hard for me to order because all the za on the menu sounded awesome! I had a small Alfredo Pene (I believe that what it was called), added mushrooms and spinach. It. Was. Incredible. Exactly what I wanted. Whatever special tomato is on this was soooo good. Drive up service curbside for to go orders mean you never leave your car. Just call them when you arrive and they come out to your car. This was my first time visiting an Ian's Pizza location, at the recommendation of a friend who is a local. I ordered a slice of the mac and cheese pizza with a side salad. I found my pizza to be hot and fresh, plus it was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it! My salad was just the right size and all the veggies were ripe and crispy. Told that to the lady I have no choice. If your business can't take cash close your doors. Not everyone carries a card. This is america.
