MAGNIFICENT experience! So i'm from italy.. and i'm italian 100%, just visiting the states and i can confidently say this pizza was wow. Not italian at all ok but so so so good in its own way. Briar helped me w the flavors and his endless patience, he deserves a raise y'all!! Anyway pretty much anyone here is super nice, which makes the experience even better. Love love love this pizza, even if it's really different from italy.. actually i think the dough is lighted and easier to digest.. italy don't ban me back home. Ian's pizza sponsor me

Good pizza! Unique flavors. Service was a little slow given that it was always cooked but I prefer that to cold pizza. The location was fun and energetic too. Would stop again

This is one of my favorite pizza places in Madison! The location is fantastic, as it's inside Garver Feed Mill, with plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating available when the weather is nice. Parking can be a little crowded, especially during peak hours, but we've been able to find a spot during each of our visits so far. We have a toddler, so we are always looking for places where we can grab a meal, eat comfortably, and leave whenever we need to. This place is perfect for that. The Smokey the Bandit is my favorite pizza, but other options, including the Mac & Cheese and Buffalo Chicken pizzas, are also delicious. When you place your order at the counter, they send you a text message when your food is ready, so you can find a seat and relax while you wait. Individual slices are usually available right away, while a whole pizza takes a little longer to prepare, but the wait is generally very reasonable. I highly recommend this place for families with toddlers. There's plenty of space to move around with a stroller, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming, relaxed, and family-friendly.

Always so delicious and excellent customer service from the staff! We love Ian's and will always love them!!! We are frequently here and enjoy the space and the food and the service!!

As someone who eats a lot of pizza, I was pleasantly surprised by the food at Ian's Pizza. This is two fold -- because of the tasty and fluffy dough which is evident in their delicious breadsticks and also because of the unique flavor options that include everything from Mac 'n Cheese to BBQ to Gyro to Cajun to Hawaiian -- often with a unique twist to them. The pizza itself is really fun to eat which huge slices and a thickness that provides just enough firmness but isn't overly salty or saucy. It's easy to eat a lot of pizza this way as it doesn't feel overly oily, but just satisfying enough to casually keep taking more and more bites. The prices here aren't too bad for the portion sizes as a 20" pizza is plenty to feed 4 ... or 3 people with huge appetites. For our table, we enjoyed the creations to much that there were no leftovers despite not being super hungry before we started eating.

Love the Garver Mill location. Great space to hang out and grab a slice. I attended an event and it was super busy but the staff at Ian's did a great job moving the line along quickly. I love that they also have salads as an option and opted for a side Caesar salad and a slice of lots of options to choose from. This time I checked out a taco/fiesta option. It had a nice spice to it and some toasted chips on top.

Ian's Pizza Madison is in a shopping center that is far off the main road. But it's worth the journey to get there. You can order pizza by the slice or by the pie. We ordered the breadsticks. They had a great flavor and a great sauce. We were so impressed with the breadsticks that we went back with our friends to get a half sausage and pepperoni and half barbecue chicken pizza. It was delicious. Our friends were happy with it, too. I highly recommend Ian's Pizza Madison.

I went there on a weekday evening. The place was not too busy. I got parking easily. There were a lot of pizza slice on display. I tried 3. All the veg was my favorite. Mac n cheese and chicken pasta were my other ones. I loved those as well.

This is my 2nd time coming here. Ran into this place when going to RolePlay the first time I came.. They had a great selection of pizzas. I've tried the tomato pesto the last time and it was so delicious. This time around I tried the drunken ravioli and the penne Alfredo. Also very delicious!! Service is pretty quick.

The old bones are still showing, with exposed brick walls and the large open windows giving the place that "well, they sure don't build 'em like this anymore" kind of charm. Right smack in the middle of the main floor sits a big ol' bar, surrounded by bright lime-green accent chairs that somehow make perfect sense once you're sitting in one, bellying up to the aluminum topped bar. Tables are scattered throughout both floors, all are absolutely packed, and not a grumpy face in sight. Upstairs, the two-story layout gives the place a little extra breathing room and a touch of old-building grandeur. It's quirky without trying too hard, colorful without being fussy, and comfortable in that distinctly Midwestern way. Why not start with an Old Fashioned and those Wisconsin cheese curds--because apparently regular cheese wasn't doing enough heavy lifting. These little golden nuggets come out hot, crisp, and gloriously greasy, a little salty, a little oily, plenty cheesy, and best eaten while they're still hot enough to make you question your life choices. The Old Fashioned, well... bless its heart, it tried. It had all the usual suspects--whiskey, a little sweetness, an orange garnish, and a healthy dose of bitters--but somehow the bitters forgot to show up for work. It wasn't terrible, exactly. It just lacked that gruff Wisconsin attitude you'd hope for in an Old Fashioned. God Bless The Queen! The Queen is their wood-fired pizza that keeps things simple while teasing your taste buds with rich fresh flavor. The flavors are classic Italian comfort, with the tomato bringing a little tang, the mozzarella keeping things creamy, and the Parmesan adding that salty, nutty punch at the end. The basil gives it a fresh, herby lift, while the wood-fired crust brings that smoky, crispy edge that makes you want to pick up another slice before you've even finished the first. Loved it! Eating this pizza in an old bank feels like peak Wisconsin: keep the brick, add a bar, fire up a pizza oven, and throw some cheese curds at the situation. Somehow, it works. Cheers!

AMBIANCE - situated on one of the main drags of downtown, this place definitely had a college staple vibe to it, though we did see a number of families in here while we were dining. Adequate seating and fairly clean, I can see this place getting packed during the school year. SERVICE - people working the counter were very friendly, and made a few recommendations on which slices we should try. While we did stray from some of their recommendations, they got our order out hot and fast. MENU - I love pizza joints like this - sell by slice with a number of both classic and creative takes on pizza. They also have rotating special slices. I think we just missed their July 4th specials, but they had plenty of other options to choose from. FOOD - we ended up going with a macaroni and cheese slice, as well as a bbq chicken ranch pizza. considering my kids had just eaten a meal, you would have never known as they finished the majority of both slices. While the bbq chicken was good, the star was the mac and cheese pizza. My one son declared this the best thing he had in Madison ("that's high praise"). OVERALL - definitely worth a stop if you got a pizza hankering. $4-6 bucks a slice? make sure to try a few and see which one you like best. CELEBRITY RATING - Michael Cera

As with their Garver location there were about a dozen pies to choose from - most of them are a bit too weird for my taste so I just stuck with a classic like pepperoni and mushroom. Though reheated the large slices were very tasty. $5-$6 a slice. They also have salads and some other snack items. Unlike at Garver they do not have beer - makes sense given the State Street location - I am sure they do this to reduce their headaches. A good slice at a good price.

With 2 Wood fire pizza ovens and an open kitchen concept, this place was it for me. Pizza: personal size, got the Salsiccia ($13) which was delicious. Crust was amazing, thin but scrumptious. Service: it was empty when I went at 2 and you order and pay first even if dining in. A lady (I believe her name was Lugenia?) was manning the front. Had to ask for napkins and asked for a cup of water. Got the napkins and an empty cup, water never showed up, no explanation. An elderly white couple showed up afterwards and they got the whole speech, come to find out (by eavesdropping) that there's a water fountain in the back. Well now I'm glad I tipped for no service at all. As I was leaving, a young lad was changing shifts with her and he seemed very friendly and thanked me for coming in. So maybe I just got unlucky with the service because he seemed a lot chipper. Parking: in the back, make a right at the light after passing the bagels shop. TLDR: come for the great pizza, but service could probably be a hit or miss. Takeout pizza would be amazing here.

We started eating it within minutes, outside, but it was just a mess. The square slices are a bit weird but not the end of the world. The soggy bottom was a real problem though. It wasn't like the pizza had been sitting steaming for half an hour, it was less than 5 min from when someone handed us the box. I also wasn't particularly impressed with the double crust/sauce - which I wanted because the menu says thin crust and I like pizza with enough chewy crust to feel like I'm actually eating something. The part underneath the toppings felt like standard crust though, while the thick part was heftier (although strangely puffed because it's 2 layers). The toppings themselves were just ok, not all that flavorful. I'm not sure what went wrong with the crust since even in the restaurant it would come out on a pan. Maybe their double crust just doesn't work?
