Just delicious food. The fried rice was savory and sweet while the soup was tangy, spicy, and flavorful. The soup has a finer and cilantro flavor that really gets you going- energizing. My only drawback is that I ordered this through a delivery service and when it arrived there were no utensils, and no napkins. I found a fork for my rice but I ended up sipping my soup from the container which didn't really give me the entire soup experience. Lastly- I ordered a 3 on the spice scale -out of 10- and my soup was so pleasantly spicy! I think more spicier than a 3 but I'm not mad :) It was wonderful! read more

This is tough because the food quality is actually really good here, they just never get the order right! I've tried this spot about 5 times total. And legit the last 3 times they've managed to mess it up. Either missing items or completely disregarding the order. For example: when you get the curry, they ask you how spicy you want it 1-10. For certain people in my family, they like it 2-3/10, for others they for some reason like it 10/10. Whenever we specify on the app what level of spice we want it, they send the entire order 0/10. So everyone's food had absolutely zero spice. Or the time before that, I paid extra for shrimp and beef curry, and they gave me chicken. It sucks because it's good food! This is the last Thai place I've tried in Imperial Beach. I was reluctant to go at first because it had no ambiance . It makes up for that in fresh ingredients and goodness. The food is rich and tasty. I often get a Mango Curry, Chicken Egg Rolls ( You have to ask 1st because they only have them sometimes.) , Tom Kah soup (vegetarian) , Thai Tea with no Boba. It's been an awesome place to go to especially during the time of Covid . There are plenty of times when I want a nice soup or curry but don't want to prepare it myself especially when I'm the only one in the household who eats Thai. I also like that they have consistent hours. I'm not a fan when a restaurant has lunch hours and then closes for a couple of hours for dinner. It's inconvenient for people who want to grab a bite when they are out. IB Thai is my go to place to satisfy my palate when it craves spicy food. read more

I came here to grab lunch since my coworker had tried this new Thai place last week. I also picked up a lunch special for my coworker. They take phone in pick up orders. I got there and my food was hot and ready to go. Cool! Food is good! I got the beef pad see eww lunch combo which comes with two potstickers and a side salad. It was $8.00 for the lunch special. I got a level 1 and it was tasty. Be careful for the levels because my coworker got a 3 and he said it was hot! Haha. The noodles were soft and the flavors were there! The potstickers were good and salad was fresh! I definitely will be back to try other items. I may take my daughter here for dinner since she loves fried rice which they have. Their menu is pretty extensive. The inside looks nice and there are a few tables if you choose to dine inside. The guy working at the register was super nice. May be "authentic" but the quality is horrible. I have been to Thailand and I have had authentic as well as been to several Thai places. This is low ranked on my list for sure. For such high reviews I felt it would be "life changing." It was edible, not flavourful, and nothing memorable. When I called the man was hard to understand and it wasn't because of accent it was because he mumbled. Their "site is down." Also they offer door dash but if you want it delivered to anywhere such as Coronado the door dash app says it canyt deliver. We ordered curry it was bland and spicy when we order we asked for low-0 spice. If a restaurant relies heavily on the spicy (burn your mouth) spice and not flavour it isn't very authentic. We also ordered pad see ew it was definitely lacking the flavour of pad see ew. The greens they put in were so bitter that is all you could taste. We got mango sticky rice too which is a yummy treat from Thai places usually. What a joke of a sweet Thai dessert. There was no coconut flavour to the sauce it was like they had heated sweetened condensed milk and called it good. The rice was one clump mass (a lot like over cooked oatmeal) as if it had sat in a rice cooker all day and just formed one mass. The mass was hard too so you had to put force into getting each bite. The mango was flavorless which is odd for a mango. Overall there are much better Thai places in IB and in neighboring towns. read more

*FOOD POISONING* This is not my husband and I first time eating here. Also if your wondering why I'm writing this review at this time (11:30pm) is simply because this is going into day 2 that's my husband has been sick from eating food from here. We ordered the food on Sunday. Funny story actually, our uber driver did not call us so we didn't even know she was outside and she ended up canceling our order. So of course we got a refund and ordered the same thing. (God was trying to somehow warn us to not eat the food) So the second order, of the same thing we ordered the first time, finally arrives. We don't think any thing off it. Like I've stated we've eaten here many times before. The last time I ate here I did not care for the food and decided it wasn't going to be for me. I did however decide to have a little bite of what my husband had. (Which was the same thing he always gets chicken fried rice and vegetables egg rolls) I immediately thought after one bite of the chicken, I was not eating anymore, but I ate a little rice and 2 egg rolls and that was it. My husband ate the rest. He mentioned how the food was warm and it wasn't even the lvl of spice he ordered. I told him it did not taste right nor how it normally does. Again we didn't think anything about it....... UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING!!! My husband was stuck on the toilet and had to call in late to work, luckily his job let him go home sick and he got medicine for it. My husband has food poisoning and is currently shaking and just feels terrible! My husband is a small framed muscular guy and he doesn't eat much. He was already feeling kinda sick and this meal he had yesterday definitely amplified it! I've had food poisoning before and I do not wish it on my worse enemy. I'm so upset and can only imagine what my poor husband is going through. We definitely agree that our uber driver sent the food back and the restaurant just had the food sitting out and probably just resent us the same order. First of all what kinda of restauran doesnt accept changes to the order(which I was going to pay extra for it) i if they receive the order and cant accept as is why in the world would they accept it in the first place. Really disappointed in this place! Everything was a disaster! We ordered Mango curry made vegan and drunken noodles vegan. I made sure to confirm with her there is no fish sauce in the sauce and she confirmed it's vegan. Then, when I went to the restroom, I saw they use prepackaged curry paste with shrimp...that's not vegan!! When I confronted her she said oh yes there's fish sauce in the red curry paste. She said we can change it to yellow or green paste no fish sauce. I then ordered yellow curry...the curry she served was green??? We also ordered mango sticky rice and I suggested that we order it after our dinner so that it comes fresh and warm after our dinner. She said don't worry it'll come after your dinner. She then brought us the mango sticky rice 15 minutes BEFORE our dinner ever came out!! None of the food was that great, I am so surprised it has such high ratings here. The mango sticky rice seemed to use old rice that was clumpy and didn't seem cooked properly. The mangoes were not the right type of mangoes and they were barely ripe. There was also what appeared to be an eyelash in the rice. The drunken noodles was barely OK and didn't have any kind of nice Thai taste...it mostly tasted like black pepper. The green curry was just gross. And the water they served us that had lemon in it tasted like it actually had chemical lemon cleaner in it. Overall the worst meal I've had in a long time. Maybe it was an off night but this woman who rang us up and served us clearly could've cared less about service, integrity or customer experience. read more
