I was disappointed upon hearing the news that Ice Cream Station's predecessor, Chicago Dog & Co, would be shutting down for good last October. A good hot dog makes for a great lunch for me, something just filling enough to fuel the rest of your day but doesn't overwhelm your hunger for a nice dinner. I was delighted to see a new company take over this land space and use it for more Chicago style hot dogs as well as ice cream. A good portion of the menu is carried over from their predecessor, but these are standard Chicago dogs (Chicago Style, Maxwell Street Polish, etc.). For my first visit, I wanted to try one of Ice Cream Station's unique offerings, so I went with the Southern Slaw Dog which consisted of a Vienna Beef dog covered with coleslaw, BBQ sauce, and a pickle spear. The flavors of the slaw and BBQ sauce complimented each other well, and the pickle spear just added to the feel of something you'd get at someone's backyard BBQ. My only complaint was that the brioche bun was a little stiff. I think I'll stick to the steamed poppy seed buns for future visits. There is plenty of parking, but the outdoor only seating might hinder the business during the hot Florida summer months. Hopefully, they will partner with delivery apps to accommodate customers. Speaking of future visits, I definitely plan on returning to check out their takes on the Maxwell Street Polish and Chicago Fire Dogs as well as their namesake ice cream. The service was great at my visit. While I don't doubt other Yelpers who had issues with their service, I do wish to emphasize that this is their first week open, and the company has been very open about them still working out the kinks, so I think it's a bit unfair to give low rankings to a small business still finding their way. I'm rooting for Ice Cream Station, and I sincerely believe they have the potential to fill the shoes that Chicago Dog & Co. left behind. Give this place a shot, Orlando and Altamonte Springs foodies. read more

We loved our visit! I think it's perfect for this area. Hot dogs, sandwiches and ice cream, what's not to like?! My kids went bananas over the dessert, the Italian sausage was good, kids loved the hot dogs and the crowd favorite was the chili cheese dog. Everyone was super nice! If I could give no stars I would. Definitely isn't comparable to the quality of Chicago Dog. The hot dog had a very weird texture. The chili and the cheese sauce weren't good at all. The Chicago dog was basically a pile of onions. Onion rings are flavorless. And to top it off Pepsi products. This place won't be here long. Good luck. Happy to see this local place and really hoping they thrive. We came tonight for ice cream, they let us sample flavors. I got the one scoop toasted coconut and my bf got the two scoops cookies and cream. The two scoops had two very small scoops while mine had one large scoop. The plastic spoons were awful! They kept bending and were not strong enough for the ice cream. Value is eh, hoping they work on the quality and consistency. I was happy to see that another Hot Dog place was filling the shoes of Chicago Dog & Co that closed last year, so I was excited to try the new place. I ordered the. Chicago dog with sauerkraut and onion rings. The dog was ok and the onions were chunks not minced. Half on the onions ended up in the tray. The onion rings were cooked to perfection and with every bite I wasn't getting the rest of the onion. My hubs got the Sonora dog and a blueberry cheesecake ice cream. He liked the dog but said the few smattering of beans didn't make sense as an addition. The ice cream team was a strange texture as I watched him twirl it on the spoon like pasta on a fork. He ordered the sonara dog because the slaw dog was unavailable because they had no slaw. There were no corn dogs as they had sold out. The service was ok. The kid who took our order was struggling to pay attention to us to take the order. We sat outside as it was a pleasant spring day. We would try it again. I hope these few hiccups get resolved as we really enjoyed Chicago Dog and need to find a suitable replacement. read more

As a former Chicago Dog patron & noticing the menu was basically an exact copy of that menu I thought I'd give it a go after having a pineapple Dole whip the week prior. Which was not quite as creamy as I remember Dole whip being, it was a bit more icy, but very good tasting! My wife ordered 2 hot dogs with chopped onions sauerkraut ketchup & mustard. I ordered a Chicago beef sandwich w/plain salted fries & a root beer. Also got a large plain salted fries to share among us. My son had just eaten a backyard burger so all he wanted was a root beer, I also asked for a root beer. Shame on me for not checking before driving home, but when we got home it was all wrong... No sauerkraut on the dogs, my beef sandwich was a Chicago dog, not a sandwich. & the fries were all salted Cajun fries not salted plain fries. The dogs themselves were not bad but my wife does not care for Cajun fries & was missing her sauerkraut on both. Then the root beers had no ice, which is fine if you're going to serve them slushy, borderline slushy, or at a bare minimum ICE COLD, they weren't far from room temp. Sadly, not even close to a decent experience... Not sure if I'll be back. Ever. Also I seriously doubt you'll heed my advice, but don't bother replying to my review because, so far, every one of your replies has included some lame excuse, or a completely USELESS anecdote about "well some other customers said the opposite..." blah blah blah... Just own it, or don't bother apologizing! It's clear you (whoever is writing the replies here) aren't able to process criticism without trying to shift the blame. I wish you guys the best, but with everything becoming more expensive lately, people are starting to get real picky where they spend their money, I'm one of them. I stopped by to grab lunch. Ordered a Chicago dog and fries but it wasn't what I received (see photo)... and the bun top was hard as a rock. I would've addressed it to management right then, but there was a line of people and I didn't want to spoil any business they might get by complaining. I posted on their Facebook page and my post was deleted and then I was blocked. They were giving food away for whatever reason so I put a $20 in their tip jar because I thought it was only fair. Was excited to try this place, we really liked the Chicago dog and were sad to see it go, my observations: -didn't try the ice cream but it looks good and they have a big menu - the food seems to be more expensive than the previous restaurant ($9.99 for cheese fries??), I understand that a business needs to make money and as I understand it, high food cost is part of the reason Chicago dog closed. But just something thing to keep in mind. -portions; I believe some of the hot dogs have gotten smaller, for instance. The fire dog is now a small hot dog, with that said, it was still very good -they used to have a window that you order food and one to pick up food. They no longer have the 2nd window, now someone brings your food to you from a side door, I would imagine this is because of the ice cream machine. I ordered 3 hotdogs and the staff came out two separate times to deliver and didn't give me a bag. This process seems very inefficient, I was there early in the day, I would imagine during busy times it must be very organized We'll definitely be back, would love to try the ice cream next time read more

Went by to try it tonight. We ordered 2 Maxwell street polish, a large fry and a hot dog with slaw. After waiting 20 minutes, they brought out our food. We opened the Maxwell street polish and instead of the carmelized onions, there was raw onion on both. We asked for the carmelized onions and they took them back. We waited and then another couple ordered and received their order before we got our food back. They did refund our money after we asked for it back but not a great start for a small business. No reason for why we didn't get our food. read more

I came here today with my family after my day at work. They severely messed up our order. Food was not hot and I had hair in my fries. When my mother went up to confront it she was met with an attitude and had the service window shut in her face the worker first said "you didn't order those things" which then turned into "I didn't hear you" the cooks also do not wear anything to stop hair from getting into your food by the looks of it as I have seen 2 employees and neither had hair caps on. Sorry I cannot see why anyone would want to go here over anywhere else near by. 1 hotdog and 2 fries and 1 pretzel bites was $32 and again half of it was not what we ordered. It kills me to write this, I love our community and always support privately owned mom and pop places but this was just an overwhelming letdown all around. We stopped in after work today to grab a few things to try. Not a big line, maybe 2 couples ahead in line. We ordered 2 corn dogs, a chili dog with shredded cheese, a chili fry with shredded cheese and the Chicago beef sandwich with aus jus on the side for $32. After a 15 min wait, a lady brought out the Chicago beef sandwich alone and was ready to send me on my way, they had no idea I ordered any other food so I had to repeat my entire order to them at the pick up window. A few minutes later they brought out the 2 corn dogs and asked what else I needed so again had to repeat my order. At this time they let me know they didn't have shredded cheese (and their cheese sauce I saw on someone else's dog didn't look appetizing) so I said just skip the cheese on the last two items (wish they would have said this upon ordering and. I would have skipped it entirely and tried something else). They brought out the last two items and I was standing there with 5 containers trying to juggle and the lady just stared at me struggling. I had to ask for a bag to carry everything from my to go order in. We got home and the chili was ok, very ketchup based and minimal portion on both the fries and dog, it was very thick and maybe 2 tbsp worth only for the regular fries portion. The beef sandwich for $10 had one thin layering of meat inside a huge bun (too much bread to meat ratio like 4:1) and sadly it was very fatty and very dry to where the slices of meat were discolored and hard texture (old and cold) in most of it. I tried to salvage it with the aus jus but it just wasn't edible. Hoping this was first day jitters but the portion and taste of everything was not what I had hoped for. We were spoiled with Chicago dog sadly and were hoping this new place would have filled their shoes even in the slightest. read more
