I'm all about a good dive bar and the best thing about this one is the unique view of the ice skating rink. There are often hockey games or practices when we are there. Fun to watch. The lack of stars was because, a.) they were out of a common ingredient (sugar) to make the cocktail we wanted; and b.) the ownership has changed and the bartender said they are no longer honoring the "free fries" when you check-in on Yelp, and she said nobody has a clue how to take those things down from Yelp or any other platforms they offer specials. Felt a bit like a bait-n-switch to us, but I don't think it was done purposely. I believe the story that they don't know how to fix these things they inherited from previous owners. Came here with 13 people for a birthday celebration. The location was hard to find, it was behind all the other stores in the back side of the parking lot. It's a nice place for people to watch the game while eating/drinking. But not worth going solely for food or drinks. More of a place to wait for kids to finish the game or watch the game. We ordered some wings, nachos with carnitas, soft pretzels, and crispy chicken sandwich. Wings were good! Crispy on the outside and juicy! Nachos were not good, melted cheese was literally looks like it was melted from the microwave and it's all dried up when you get it. Carnitas were also not great. The fries were the best part of the crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich it self was a very thin piece of chicken. For drinks it was a game day so lots of game specials including a mystery shots! It was gin based and it was surprisingly really good! Can't beat $1 shots!! Sangria and the earl grey martini was not the best and they both tasted more like juice. Would recommend to go if you want drinks/quick bite before skating or watching a game. read more

Apparently this bar has been here for many years. The food could be a hidden gem, but I did not want to disturb the cook, who was relaxing and texting in the tiny kitchen. Beer prices were reasonable and staff was nice and they even have one of those 1980's era ice hockey games. The view of the rink was pretty cool, but that's about all. I have been SO excited to visit this place since I heard of it (prelockdown) and finally got to go last night! The atmosphere is awesome! Been missing hockey & sports in general and this place is so unique and fun! My boyfriend and I sat at the bar. Scott was our bartender and he did a great job of keeping us entertained and well nourished! We had DELICIOUS fried pickles (my favorite!), split a chicken BLT and also had some garlic hot honey chicken wings! The wings were spicy and sooo good! My bf was so excited for the Canadian beers and we quenched our thirst with some refreshing molsons. I will most definitely be back as often as I can be! I NEED to try the brunch poutine! I am disgusted with my experience at this tavern tonight. Some friends and I went into this tavern to watch a hockey game. The server came over and asked what he could grab us. The first three of us asked for waters and then he just skipped the last two and said " Okay so just five waters?" and rolled his eyes as he walked away and didn't give my friends a chance to order the drinks they wanted. Another server came around and said if we were getting waters then that's what the bleachers were for. I proceeded to tell her that my friends tried to order drinks and she goes, "What, water??" with so much attitude. The two servers then proceeded to talk poorly about us behind the bar and wouldn't get us waters or take our orders so we left. Worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. I hope these two servers get fired. So unbelievably rude. read more

This is the best bar! The food is delicious (their tacos... their specials... so yummy). Having a kid that plays hockey means I'm at the rink multiple times per week and the bar is a great spot to sit during practices. This bar has greatly improved over the last year and a half. The rotating beers are great and I love the weekly specials. It's a great place to catch up, watch sports and watch my kiddo play hockey. Love this place and what they've done with it. I come in here to hang while the fiance plays hockey and I must say, they're ALWAYS super friendly and welcoming! I love being able to have a beer or cocktail while watching the guys on the ice! It is also much warmer in the tavern than on the bleachers! ;) They recently hired a new addition to the team (I totally forget his name, darn!) and he is willing to whip up anything that your heart desires; homemade salad dressings, loaded fries--which are amazing might I add!, wings, etc. He even offered to muddle some cucumber into my gin and tonic for a light and refreshing twist! Cheap food and beer. It's a shame they don't do trivia anymore. The last time we were in there on a Saturday night, the bartender had her two young children with her. She literally closed early and forced us out by 9pm so she could get her kids to bed. Even though the signage says open till midnight. Super divey bar with an amazing view of all the hilarious ice skaters. Highly recommend as a pit stop during a night of drinking!

Currently sitting at the bar watching game 1 round 1 of the playoffs and Morgan has been 100% on top of it. She's been both friendly and attentive even when I can see she's running through a bunch of orders in the back of her mind. Service has been awesome and the food has been solid. We got chips and salsa and beer cheese and pretzels and they have been way better than expected (I mean, what do you expect with barfood?). 10/10 would watch hockey and trash talk here again. read more

We have been coming here for the last 4 years. Lately, we haven't been here as much as the quality has gone down. Tonight we decided to give it a try again, big mistake. We came in, I checked out the cool old pinball machine, talked to the chef/waiter about it, so, I know that someone in the place actually saw us. The bar was not busy, maybe 10 people at the most were there. We walked down to the bar, and over to the seats right on the glass. And, then, for 10 minutes, we watched the bartender completely ignore us, we turned our chairs 90 degrees and literally watched her walk by us a half dozen times. I made eye contact a few times, and even waved to her, but, at no time did she ever serve us, at no time (even though she was 2 feet away from us) did she even acknowledge that we were there, or say "I'm busy, I'll be with you in a minute". All we saw her do was move very slowly, check her phone often and very slowly pour a drink for someone at the bar, something that required 4 trips to the customers (which were 2 feet away from us). We got up to leave, walked past her and I said "Thank you for not even noticing us", and the kicker....she didn't even notice that I said this. The Chef/Waiter also completely ignored us, walking past us several times. There are a lot of crappy dive bars in this area, don't go out of your way to be ignored at this one. We are done here, it is like we were invisible, well, guess what...so is our money and our tips. Adios to terrible service. read more
