As I was waiting for my take out order I saw a worker bus tables with disposable gloves on and instead of changing gloves she would wipe the tips of her gloves on a dirty yellow rag and serve food from the kitchen and handle money all with the same pair off gloves. I came here over the summer with my cousins with a craving for ramen. This place was okay. Busy and tiny to describe it best. Food arrived slowly but did not like how packed it was and how close the tables were to the neighbors. Pricing is good, but the food was lacking flavor. We all ordered ramen but did not finish. We ordered a few smaller plates, but we did not finish those as well. We were seated by the door, which sucks because it was a cold day when we came so everyone was opening the door and we were freezing. We had to tell several people to close the door so we would not be cold and could enjoy our meal. Overall, I don't think I will be returning anytime soon. Go if you looking for rude service or public humiliation or a spanking. They are pros of those things. Not worth it. If I could give this place zero stars I would. My husband and I were in the area running errands and decided to get lunch. Read the menu it sounded and looked good from the pictures. Ordered pan fried noodles but asked if we could substitute the chicken for BBQ pork. When it arrived it was chicken we explained to the server (not the waitress that took or order) that we had asked for BBQ pork. She left and came back with the same dish explained that we had ordered the chicken. We protested and she walked away. Twenty minutes later nothing happened I had to ask our waitress where our order was. She said she would check on it. It's a small place and she never checked. The dish finally came on it was a joke the BBQ pork we waited so long for was basically tiny pieces perhaps left on the cutting board. See the pictures I included. We ate some of it because we were really hungry and now running out of time. The rice my husband ordered never arrived but they did charge us for it. I had it removed of course. It's good for a quick dinner after work cuz it is really near to where I parked. Noodles are good. Most of the people speak Cantonese in it. For a Mandarin speaker, I believe it must be more Hong Kong or Guangzhou style. I am not a big fan of this, but good enough for a work day dinner. read more

I live near here and felt like ramen tonight. Gave it a try and have to say it's the worst ramen I ever had. Does not taste anything like Japanese ramen. Restaurant possibly Chinese owned?? Me and my wife ordered the edamame gyoza, takoyaki, garlic tonkatsu ramen, and spicy miso ramen. The ramen came out before the appetizers. The pork slices on each ramen was dry and overcooked. The noodles tasted like they came out of a package at the supermarket. The spicy miso ramen broth had a numbing spice to it and killed my wifes6 taste buds for anything else. The garlic tonkatsu broth was ok at best. Not enough garlic nor pork flavor. When I asked for a side of chili to make my garlic tonkatsu broth spicy, I was provided with sriracha. As for the appetizers, disliked the edamame gyoza. I never had it anywhere else before so i have nothing to compare it to. It left an after taste in my mouth I didn't like. The takoyaki was the best thing I had. Cooked right and good flavor. That's what gave this place 2 stars. If I felt like ramen again, I'll drive into San Francisco to satisfy my cravings. read more

May I even suggest you to update your menu price as it will reflect an actual menu price as the one complaint I have with this location is the 18% surcharge. I've passed by this place a lot of times when I'm in the area. We gave it a try to see what it's about. The place is very small, barely have enough to walk around freely. The food was okay, I thought it was a Japanese Restaurant because of the name but its actually a Cantonese / Chinese one. We ordered some ramen and shrimp wonton soup which was pretty disappointing but we liked their deep fried garlic pork (I think was the name). When we asked for the bill we got shocked about the 20% service fee (we paid $22 extra). There weren't enough servers, the space is small you can't even walk around freely! I enjoyed the black garlic ramen but tonkotsu ramen was a bit bland and forgettable. Soft boiled egg was a nice touch. Their clay pots are amazing, and the same can be said for all of their dishes. The wait can be long if you go during peak hours, but I guarantee that the wait is worth it. As we proceeded out of the door, she yells out "that they wouldn't have space for anyone else!" and I told her "well you just missed out on some good business". Highlights.. 1) Did she not realize that it was close to closing time? Did she not see that we would've spent way over $100 for a party of 12. No, no, no,NO! The only thing "ramen" about this place is the top ramen noodles they serve. I was hoping this would be a halfway decent place since it was so close by but nope. I should have stuck with my gut instincts after walking in and seeing that the place is run by Chinese. I ordered a combo ramen and rice bowl. While the meat was good I'm really not too sure what sauce they used since it wasn't a teriyaki. The ramen disappointed more than the Warriors in the NBA Finals. Noodles seemed like they were the instant noodle kind and the broth was bland and lacked the depth for being a tonkotsu broth. In fact something was really off with the flavoring of the broth and I'm going to take a stab and say the broth was made from a package just like the noodles. I felt like I was eating Top Ramen Noodles with a instant tonkotsu broth. I was really hoping thing place was going to be good but it is no better than the instant ramen you'd cook at home. If you're thinking about trying this place I would skip it. I only ate half of the ramen and decided to not waste my time with it and went to Burger King around the corner fora Hobbit second dinner. I stopped in here for lunch because of the name, Ichi Ramen. I looked at the menu on the window and didn't see anything titled "ramen" but I trusted a place with ramen in the name to have ramen. I was seated right away, given a menu, and a cup of tea. I wanted to ask the waitress were the ramen was but she was gone talking to another employee. I looked the menu front to back twice, nothing with the words ramen next to it. I ordered from the page that had the words "noodle soup" because I mean... that's what ramen is right? So I got the shrimp wonton noodle soup. Well it wasn't ramen which, in their defense, isn't what they called it. It was angel hair pasta in chicken broth with shrimp wontons, no vegetables no frills. None of it was bad... but the deception of calling your restaurant Ichi Ramen when by almost every reviews admission it is a Chinese restaurant? I'll never be back to this restaurant. Now that I've checked out yelp I can see at some point they did have ramen on the menu but on 1/30/19 that page were not in the menu I was given nor was it on the glass wall outside of the restaurant I'm also learning from the reviews that the old restaurant was shut down for SFs health code. That seems like something you have to go out of your way to do in San Francisco, no wonder they don't use their old name. read more
