Yelp Review: 5 Stars of Fiery, Fragrant, Full-Belly Glory Let me start by saying this: Ichi Togarashi, you spicy little devil, you almost earned that fifth star. ALMOST. But you left me just enough room in my soul (and stomach) to complain in a loving, hungry tone. So here's the deal. My wife and I have a ritual. We roll into Ichi, scroll past the 942 small plates on the menu, and immediately add four tried-and-true firecrackers to our cart like seasoned war generals of the flavor battlefield: * Street Thai Beef Salad -- This thing slaps. The Angus steak is cooked medium like God intended, and it's tossed in herbs like it's starring in a Netflix original called "Mint Condition: The Cilantro Chronicles." A fresh, spicy delight. Would eat again and again. * Chicken Kimchee Salad -- Napa cabbage that probably went to private school, spicy sauce with a PhD, and chicken that's clearly done CrossFit. I don't even like salads, but this one makes me question all my poor leafy decisions. * Thai Signature Spicy Beef Basil Pot -- This one's like a brothy beef rave with bok choy security guards making sure no flavor tries to sneak past the bouncer. Comes with rice, and also comes for your soul. * Thai Khao Soi Coconut Curry -- This. Is. The. Headliner. If you don't order it, you are wasting your life. It's creamy, spicy, comforting, illegal in some countries, and probably what angels eat before a big harp solo. It deserves its own zip code. If they sold it by the gallon, I'd fill my bathtub and soak in it with a ladle. Why only 5 stars? Because Yelp won't let me give 5.97 stars, and that's the real rating. Ichi can be a little busy--one time the line was so long I thought we were waiting for a Disney ride. But none of that really matters when the food slaps this hard. Pro Tip: Go hungry. Order big.
