    Calamari (we ate some already)

Super friendly service, neat and clean location and food was great! We enjoyed several rolls, calamari, eggplant dish, and rangoons. All very good, we will be back!

Excellent and attentive service! Got Omakase and asked for spicy and tuna and it was perfection! I also got the Chico (when in Rome) and it was also quite tasty! I'll be back!

    So good!!!

The food is Great and the beer was cold. I had two rolls, and two tacos. Everything was delicious. I picked one and I asked the server to pick one of her favorites. And because I hit the gym first (flex) lol, two tacos. And not a flex, fat. Lol. It was all delicious. Oh and I had a beer that was on tap. So good! The service was excellent. And the staff behind the counter were hustling. And still chopping it up with locals. Good vibe. The ambiance was cool from what I remember. I sat at the bar. If im ever back in Chico I would definitely hit this spot up.

Fun little spot that made me feel like I wasn't in chico! Love it when that happens with a restaurant! Good food and service the Japanese crab taco was off the chain and so fresh and big . So when ordering a Japanese taco ... if you don't like warm stuff then just let it sit for a hot second and it cools off perfectly and isn't warm! Haha who would have thought! I had forgotten to order a miso Togo and was on the way out and it was so sweet of them to give me a Togo cup and not charge me. I will remember and bring back my business!

First time at Ichiban and very impressed. I was just off the heels of having a terrible experience at another local sushi spot (located downtown) and since I still had a craving for sushi decided to drive to Ichiban which was a referral from a friend (and Yelp of course!). Parking was easy, they have a giant designated lot, you know I love that! Got there just as HH was ending and easily strolled onto the outdoor patio, chose a table and waited for the waitress to come out with the menus. There was nobody else on the patio so I had my pick of what I thought was the best table :) The waitress came out, super friendly, dropped off the menus, took our drink order, and left us to chat and decide on food. I have to say, I LOVED the high-top corner tables, they allow you to sit above the height of the railing which offers a clear view up and down the tree-lined street. She came back out with our beers, answered all the questions I had about the menu, and gave advice about the best spicy/crunchy rolls, I LOVVVVE me that shpicy shtuff! I have no idea how long it took for her to come back with the rolls because we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves, the beer, and the conversation so time seemed to fly by. She came back out with the rolls, still smiling, and offered another beer. We dived into the sushi (I ordered the Spicy Taco Roll, which was crunchy, flavorful, and spicy, right up my alley) which was DEELISH, and we ended up hanging out enjoying the street side view and the food/beer for about an hour and a half. Great experience overall, super friendly staff, attentive, knowledgeable waitress, and yummy sushi. 5 stars for Izakaya Ichiban! I will definitely be back. Arigato!!

Food was Great, Service was efficient and everything was super fast and delicious. I recommend anyone who's used to Bay Area, LA sushi to check this place out it's the closest I've had since I moved to Chico

This roll was just ok for me. I've had better quality.

Sushi was just ok (average to below as far as taste and freshness). They give a nice serving of the apps, ordered the eggplant and calamari. I had a sushi roll (forgot name) with salmon it was just ok. My coworker ordered combo plate it was a huge serving so that was a plus. Server kept checking in with us. Small size sushi place.

Expensive and they only give you 8 rolls 8 to 14 dollars but very good and very nice looking.

Does this place have Happy Hour, if so what days & times?

Are they open again after their fire?

They moved across 20th St., where Tong Fong Low used to be.

What is the best meal for one I could get here for $15 or under?

I would recommend the chicken katsu curry! It's REALLY good! Just make sure to ask for the salad on the side.

Great food and great service! Celebrated a college graduation and the graduate was wanting to eat…read morehere for quite awhile and she was very happy with whole experience. We arrived a little early and went to the bar for a cocktail and two of us knew what we wanted and ordered right away while the other two were indecisive. Our table was ready early and my wife was seated while the rest of us waited for our drinks. When the first two drinks came the other two were ordered. My wife was told that the drinks would be delivered to our table but nobody came to the bar to pick them up so I waited for the other two drinks to be made. It wasn't particularly busy at the bar but by the time the last two drinks came and I waited to pay the tab, I decided to take the drinks and tab to our table and handle the bar tab with our waitress. There was a lot of confusion with the bar tab and the bartender even came to our table to find the bill and I told him that I gave it to our waitress and they finally figured it out and added it to our dinner tab. I ordered an old fashion and by the time I finally got to take a sip, it was watered down Everybody else liked the cocktails they ordered, two of which were the strawberry drop. My drink was the only disappointment of the evening. Now, for the good stuff! We ordered onion rings and calamari for appetizers and the onion rings were HUGE! Typically, when they are that big, they fall apart and are messy to eat, but not these. They were very crispy, crunchy, and firm. The chipotle ketchup wasn't too much to write home about but the dips for the calamari stepped in well. The calamari batter was light and crispy and was as good as you would expect from a high scale restaurant. My wife and I shared a loaded iceberg wedge and it was right up there with the best we've ever had. For entrees we ordered two filets, one medium and one medium rare and my wife said her medium filet was the best steak she ever had. My daughter originally ordered her filet well and when the waitress told her that they usually butterfly it when ordered well, my daughter asked what that meant. I stepped in and told my daughter that filets are meant to be eaten medium rare or less and the waitress jumped in and verified, thus the medium rare order and my daughter loved it. I asked for the hazelnut crusted halibut without the crust and fortunately they were able to accommodate my request and it was delicious. Our last entree was the stuffed chicken breast and its appearance was the best looking on our table and my daughter was very happy with that choice. Despite being full, we ordered the dark chocolate lava cake and ice cream and a dessert special of fruit and some sort of cream? I'm not completely sure what it was but it was the favorite of the two. There was a very nice and rustic ambience with great service that made it a great choice to celebrate our graduate.

This was not the dining experience we were expecting, to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary…read more Our server was not unkind but also not friendly at all, and seemed easily annoyed. We both ordered the twin tails, which have gone up in price and down in quality, since our last visit. The lobster was undercooked, chewy with an odd purple color and unappetizing texture. I asked for mine to be cooked more, my husband did not, as he does not send food back. When it was brought back, it was still not cooked all the way and still had a translucent look on one side. It remained chewy and unappetizing, rather than the delicious and savory lobster we have enjoyed in the past. The mashed potatoes, which used to be to die for, were just ok and the portion size has shrunk. The arugula dish on the plate was merely ok as well. It used to be so tasty that I tried to recreate it at home, this was just a bit of salty and bitter greens. The bread was not served until after the meal arrived and they were out of the yummy brown bread. This meal seemed hastily thrown together, rather than thoughtfully prepared, as it as been in the past. It was very disappointing. We did enjoy the music on the patio, which added ambience to the outdoor dining experience. The "anniversary menu" they gave us was a nice touch.

We were promptly seated, and given a great spot near the wall-sized indoor fountain which was nice. We started with cocktails and appetizers, and they all came out quickly. We started with bread, which was excellent. We moved on to the grilled artichokes, which were also pretty special. The jalapeno aioli added to the smokiness of the grilled artichokes. We loved them. The bib salad was also a treat - nice chop, and the lardons were perfectly cooked little flavor bombs that stood up nicely to the blue cheese. We had the lobseter ravioli, and the single-layer crispy lasagne for our meals. The lobster ravioli was delicious, and the freshly made sundried tomatoes added a little extra structure to balance the plate. The single layer lasagne was really interesting. Wasn't sure what to expect, and the server said it was a little controversial, so I tried it. It came out as a large sheet - fresh spinach pasta sheets, layered with a delicious bolognese sauce, and topped with pesto and bechamel. Unconventional? Yes. Delicious? YES! I'm so glad I was feeling experimental - it was an innovative dish. Overall, we loved it. Service was very solid - attentive, without being intrusive. Perfect evening! Previous review: Dropped in here just to check it out. We came early on Thursday, and it was jumping! Got a seat at the Kitchen bar to have a few apps, and a cocktail, and had a fantastic snack and talked with some great folks in the kitchen. Pizza is fantastic wood -oven style, and the service was great. Wish I had photos - but I'll save those for the next time i visit and do a more thorough tour of the menu.

In the past, we used to come much more often for Happy Hour as their appetizers, pizza's, and small plates are delicious. Yesterday, we decided Crush was the place to be for our 14-year anniversary, and it exceeded expectations. The food was delicious as always (I had the Allen Prime Rib and my wife had the Short Rib Stroganoff). But what took it over the top was our server - Ethan. He was awesome. He was friendly, warm, personable, attentive, and on top of everything. Being at a great restaurant with great food is still only a GOOD experience if your server is disengaged. However, when your server is awesome, it elevates everything. My wife and I ended the evening highly satisfied and grateful. Thank you Crush (and Ethan) for such a great anniversary night.
