We were up here In the area during the California fires where we live. The ordering system was easy to use, the prices are reasonable, and when greeted at the door, the folks were adorable and sweet. We did not realize that we would need to request wasabi. So you will want to make that as a comment request. We really appreciated the variety. Not sure where all the 5-star reviews come from, but this is average sushi at best. I didn't take pics, but we got the pepperfin, bbq albacore, hotate, sake, volcano and Rocklin roll. First, the Pepperfin was very bland and the grade of fish was not what we are used to eating. The albacore was literally the only good thing we ordered. The hotate didn't have the sweetness a scallop normally has. We asked for light sauce on the rolls after reading a few other reviews about how heavy-sauced they are. The rolls were a LOT of rice. My son liked the volcano better than the Rocklin. A pet-peeve of mine is when I order a roll with avocado it better have a slice of avocado. The sushi chef just squished a little into the roll to add color. Had to ask for a refill for my soda. Overall was left unimpressed. So glad I took my son and not my husband as he's a bigger sushi snob. For the price there are many other better sushi restaurants in the vicinity to spend our money on. read more

Tried on this place to go. All the rolls we got were really good and fresh. Excited to find another great sushi place in town with good prices too. Only thing was the miso soup was pretty cold but we did take about 10min to get home which could have been mostly that. read more

I was in the city and saw this restaurant and thought I had to try it out. I'm so glad I did!! The sushi here was fresh and had an amazing taste. Not only was the sushi delicious, the service was great! My friend and I ordered the chirashi togo and we both loved it so much!!! This is by far the best Sushi place in the Rocklin/Roseville area. From the outside it doesn't look like much. But the service, cleanliness and sushi rolls are the best! I hate to leave bad reviews, but I just felt so ripped off I had to say something :( I've had lot of veggie rolls at different sushi places and I've usually been happy with how they were made and the price. But this was a little ridiculous. I should've been charged the price of a cucumber and avocado roll. There was barely anything in it at all! A tiny bit of avocado, and morsels of cucumber and carrot. It was mostly rice. I know that making a roll like this only costs a couple dollars to make. There's no expensive meat, just little chopped vegetables. When I get this other places they stuff it with the veggies to make it an actual roll and it's actually cheaper lol! So if you want to pay for a tiny roll that's mostly rice, this is your one. (My classmate noted that it looked like I paid for air because of a gap in the roll.) The inside of the place looked nice and the girl at the register was kind too. And they had great quality chopsticks, that's why I'm upping it to 2 stars. read more

A no wait place - not well known and hidden. Food is very good, staff is minimal for a Saturday night. Food wait time hard to gauge, only one other family here, but was a bit longer than you would think for just two families here. We would come here again, hopefully they gain more business. I ordered the hot 'n' spicy roll, at least I think that was what it was called. It had spicy tuna, spicy crab, avocado...I asked them to add cream cheese to the inside-it was delicious. We shared a bottle of sake-forgot the name of it, but it was $8.95 for the bottle. It was the cloudy type of sake, not the type you can see through-it tasted great. My friend and I were driving back from Reno back to San Francisco and wanted to make a stop somewhere in between to grab dinner. I went to my most reliable source for new restaurants - Yelp because I didn't want junk food. I and found this little tucked away sushi joint right off the 80 Freeway. The owner was very friendly, the sashimi and nigiri sushi we were served were all very fresh. The price was also very reasonable, two plate full of mostly sashimi and a few nigiri with a bottle for sake all for $59. Will definitely stop by on my next trip up to Tahoe. read more

I've been thinking of coming here for a while, but kind of dismissed it due to the location and size, but I'm so glad I went here for lunch! I'll have to come back and make sure the quality is always that good, because if it is, no exaggeration, this is the best sushi place I've found in the area. I went in, was greeted right away by a very nice server, and looked at the menu for a while because I wanted to get something to go. The woman who looked like the owner asked me if I had a question, and I asked what was the closest to something I always look for but never seems to specifically be on a menu (tuna on top, spicy tuna, avocado, and cucumber inside). She said she would just have them make me that exact roll, and was very nice. I waited for maybe almost 10 minutes, and when it was ready they showed it to me before packaging it up and it looked beautiful. The price wasn't low but it was not unreasonable. But when I got back to my office though, and looked at the roll closely, that was when the real magic happened. They used a ton of tuna on top, and it was some of the nicest sushi grade tuna I've ever see, perfect color, cut thick, and covering the top. An impressive amount of fish. And the roll itself was very big, and packed with tuna, and lots of avocado (and cucumber). I was super full after eating the entire thing, which I was not planning on doing. I don't think I've ever seen such a nicely made roll, I'm literally wanting to drag my fiance back there tonight to see if it was real. Super good rolls! The cashier is super sweet and they even write which roll you got when you order to go. (This May be something a lot sushi places do lol but it was my first time). The are big, and when they say hot- believe them. A little high in pricing and the rolls can be loose but they are still VERY good. I will definitely be coming back. read more

NEW OWNERS. Once upon a time this was my favorite place... I literally loved it... but now all my hopes and dreams are crushed. The new cooks and owners are out of their minds if they think that what I just paid for even resembles what I am used to getting. (I get the same thing every time I go in) but unfortunately with a broken heart I must say that I'm never coming back... the quality was terrible at best! although they did try (somewhat..) regardless of their attempts, the entirety of my experience was something I will think about till the day I die... why did the old owners leave... will they ever make my sushi again? Great atmosphere Good service. My fifth star goes to the food. The first sushi restaurant I've been to in years that serves rolls with large pieces of fish inside. I'm hooked. Great presentation excellent fresh fish and large portion sizes. I had the Alaska roll, crazy roll and sushi sashimi platter. The sashimi platter came with real miso soup (so many restaurants using packaged). The sashimi was perfectly cut and very fresh. Although the Alaska roll was one of the least expensive on the menu it was huge! With about 4X the salmon of any other restaurant I've been to! I love salmon and I'm normally let down by Alaska rolls. Long story short thank you for a great meal and I'm super excited I've found my new sushi spot.
