My daughter and I just LOVE Ichiban Sushi. The staff there is very friendly and the food is very good. We stopped in the restaurant the other night, but we've also ordered through Door Dash and have picked-up takeout meals. In all cases and regardless of delivery method, the food was fabulous. When we were in the restaurant, we tried their Spicy Edemame and WOW!! That signature offering is **fabulous**. So was the tempura, the sesame chicken, the rolls, everything. So I've been here off and on for years. I feel like they have really stepped it up. Presentation is much better. Very thing I had was very tasty. Their rolls are a little on the big side but for most, that's not usually a problem. They put good size of fish in the rolls which is a plus. I do think they put too much sauce on the rolls. I think it takes away from the flavor of the sushi fish. I actually think it would taste great without sauce at all. All and all it does taste good and I will keep coming back special since I work down the street. I notice this time they served soup and edamame with my meal complementary. Nice little bonus. This is mine and my boyfriends favorite sushi spot I in town. It's just a tiny place, but the staff there is so great. They recognize us when we come in and have started to memorize our orders lol. Even before we were "regulars" we were always greeted with smiles and the waitress is always on top of it. If there is ever a wait, they make sure to keep you informed and not feel like you've been forgotten. I definitely recommend trying this place out. The sushi is also amazing. I've always loved coming here with my friend and the food is really good, but I am very disappointed with the service. I've been to this restaurant countless of times and I always recommend it to my friends, but every single time that I go there there is this couple, who I guess are considered regulars. This same thing had happened about three times when I went there. I have the same server ever time, she is blonde. She always pays more attention and serves their food out before me and my friend. It's just disappointing because I expect everyone to be treated the same whether they are a regular or not, and especially not have the regulars food out before anyone who got there earlier. I can recall a time where I came in with my friend before the other couple came in and the couple left before us and we were waiting for our food for quite some time and didn't leave for about an hour. I really like their side salad here. The dressing is delicious. Their sushi is okay. The rice is a little too mushy for me. Pretty cool that they give free miso and edamame with your meal! I really wanted to like this place and had high hopes as I love sushi! Service was slightly awkward and not knowledgeable about anything, kind of a bummer for someone that is excited to hear what you have to offer. Rice was gummy and crispy in certain areas, fish was frozen and not near the peak of quality. Flavors were all very bland and not fresh tasting. Asked for omakase and was told no. Then asked for their favorites and was told to read the menu. All around a bummer. I wanted to have a cool small spot to eat good sushi. I also want to give a higher rating but I decided I would not come back. You can tell when it is an off night and when there is no passion in the food or service. Overall it was all bomb.com! Mine was deep fried and even though I don't remember reading that in the description it was still tasty. My husband's roll was good as well, although they could have put larger pieces of salmon in the AK roll. Rice was a little overpowering. Presentation on mine was fabulous by the way! 1st time eating there tonight. Was disappointed in the quality of food. We ordered beef Udon and the quality of beef was very poor. Every piece was full of gristle. Not very pleasant to eat. At $13 a bowl you should not have a big mound of inedible beef. Son had the same experience with his beef teriyaki. Same poor quality beef. He ordered the Bento box and the Katsu chicken was dry. The Sakura roll was good and we also ordered the himachi maki which was very short on fish and the green onion. The spicy tuna roll was ok. So bill came to $70 and it was not worth this price. Quality and amount of ingredients don't match what you are paying. I was hoping for a good old school good quality sushi place but it was a miss. Too many good spots so seriously doubt we will be back. read more

Being a vegetarian, I don't have many options in most Japanese restaurants, however Ichiban offers me a variety right from appetizers to dessert. We were so excited to try this place for dinner this week. We ordered off their menu. Unfortunately the menu was inaccurate as our bill came to $16 more than we expected. The biggest frustration was when we got home with our meal and my husband discovered his sushi orders did not come with any wasabi! What! Wasabi is a staple ingredient with sushi dishes. We were so disappointed, especially because our dinner was $70 for my family of 3. Yikes. We had anticipated $55ish based on the menu we ordered from on their site and then to have to eat all of his sushi with no wasabi, well, it was an anti-climactic experience for sure. The to go order was packed well making sure the food arrived in tidy condition once home. That was appreciated. The bento dinner boxes were good, nothing amazing, but good. Again, I go back to the no wasabi with our sushi orders. That is just unacceptable for any Japanese restaurant to serve their sushi without the proper and traditional condiments. read more
