Nice brewery! Free brewery tours on the weekend at 11am and 1pm- we took the 1pm on a Sunday and it became our own private tour since no one else showed up-awesome! Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions. I got to enjoy the tour (took about half an hour) with a Dark Persuasion I got beforehand. This beer has won a lot of rewards and it actually tastes like German Chocolate Cake! It got a bit too bitter for my taste towards the end but everyone seems to love this one. I also got a sip of their raspberry wheat which I was hoping to get a little more flavor out of. They also have a few appetizers and small bites you get order. They have outdoor and indoor seating-the upstairs indoor seating is pretty nice and not as busy. Lines get pretty long so be prepared to wait! read more

I hate Icicle Brewing company. I started hating them when they brought their Dark Persuasion beer to a festival in Blaine last year. I hate them like a heroin addict hates their dealer because they're addicted and can't seem to get their life together. After the first taste I felt a little tingle in my loins and demanded another taster glass just to make sure it wasn't my imagination. It wasn't. I saved all my tickets and those of everyone in my party just to have more. I'm not sure if it's the Coconut or the smoothness but I'm unable to function without a pint every hour on the hour. This brewery is such a fun place to visit! We visited on a busy Sunday afternoon so they did not offer their beer flights. We ordered their Dirtyface Amber, Dark Persuasion and Crosscut Pilsner and stood out on the patio watching the snow fall. I can definitely see why the Dark Persuasion is a favorite! This place is adorable! Great value for a flight, I was particularly fond of the darkest porter, which tasted exactly like chocolate and coconut. So delicious! Perfect for a chilly afternoon. * Great little brewery * In the land of simulated Bavarian tourist crap that Leavenworth is, Icicle Brewing is an oasis. It is a bit off of the main tourist strip, but worlds apart. The brewery has a small bar and a few counters, as well as some outside seating, so that you can enjoy the beer along with some snacks. We ordered the beer sampler, which was presented as 6 mini servings (about 4-5 ounces each) in a convenient wood holder. This is a nice way to get a feel for a variety of their brews. The raspberry wheat beer was very fruity (a bit too fruity for me), but if you have a sweet tooth I think you may just like it. I'm not usually a big fan of lager, but have to say their "Lokal Lager" had a nice malty taste with subtle hints of hops. It had a very smooth finish as well, and is a nice refreshing beer. But my favourite, by far, was their "Bootjack IPA." The hops were intense and gave an almost floral overtone to the beer. It was truly delicious. We continued on with the IPA after the sampler. That IPA was wonderful! Icicle is a cozy venue and a fine microbrewery. It's not a place to eat and drink beer in Leavenworth. The beer is tasty and cold, particularly the Bootjack IPA, however the food offerings, not so much. The kitchen is quite limited and the food is cold-cut forward and reflects that limitation. Fantastic outdoor setting with long picnic tables, icy IPAs, and warm, external fireplaces, when you sit in Icicle Brewing Company on a spring night, you'll feel like you are in a movie set for an alpine village. Its a nearly a perfect place to sit and catch up with friends and enjoy a cold draft beer on tap in front of a roaring outdoor fire pit. You will be sorely dissapointed with most food offerings, unless you come for drinks only, but in my humble opinion, that is okay. Who cares? Leavenworth has other food offerings and what it probably needed more was a darn good craft brewery with a relaxing atmosphere. So in summary, eat elsewhere, get your German food fill at another sport, and then come here later, or before. I wish the food were up to the beer offerings, but its not. Maybe in a future incarnation. Come here though, and enjoy a beer and some time with friends, and you'll likely thank your lucky stars to be here outside under these lucky stars. read more

Okay so I'm not entirely how sure how honest of a review I can give this place given we didn't actually make it inside. The person waiting outside to check people in was so off putting we decided to leave. He was rude to the table before us and when my husband walked up and said hey we have a table for 3 he just seemed so incredibly put out by our request. "I don't have any tables" yeah no shit you're a tourist town during a pandemic (which wasn't said outside of my head) so my husband asked about how long the wait would be and again just seemed soooo annoyed to be asked such things and responded gruffly with "I don't know man 10-15 minutes" so I made the decision not to patronize this establishment. I know the service industry can suck and I know it can especially suck in a tourist town...during a pandemic...but this is your job. read more

Good brewery in Leavenworth! The outdoor seating is ideal for a post hike beer on a nice day. They have a verity of snacks including a delicious soft pretzel with cheese sauce and two types of mustard. The beer is quality, mainly lager styles. I had the Dirtyface amber lager. Fun fact... Dirtyface is a mountain near lake Wenatchee. I also have a nice well balanced IPA that went down smoothly. I always love it when I'm here. This is because we stop by here after an outdoor adventure (& the beers aren't too bad either). The brewery has a nice facility right on Front St. in the heart of Leavenworth. You don't need to wear your Lederhosen to come here, but be ready to try some tasty brews. With names like Colchuck Wheat (named after a beautiful alpine lake) and Bootjack IPA (named for a nearby peak) you know nearby mountain landmarks play a prominent role here. This place is popular, so be wily in searching for a stool or table. Well, that's if you want a spot outside (which is beautiful). If it's packed don't fret, there's plenty of room upstairs. The modern wood tables, old black & white photos of hops fields and Leavenworth make this a beautiful setting to imbibe a brew. You won't go wrong here. I love that Leavenworth has a brewery. Upon first entering I was a little shocked to see how small it was, but then realized there was a whole upstairs area. Live music was playing while I was there, and while this can sometimes annoy me being upstairs was the perfect distance away and he played some great cover songs. I also was worried they would not have any food, but happy to find that they did in fact. I was happy to find a vegetarian soup. I really enjoyed the almonds. I was surprised to see how large the beer sampler was and wished I would have gotten this, will definitely do so next time. Everyone upstairs seemed to be enjoying the board games which I will peruse next time as well. My boyfriend seemed to enjoy reading about the hop lady on the wall. I walked in with one goal: a beer glass for my dad. While there, I ended up chatting to one of the owners for nearly 20 minutes and she gave me little sips of all the beers. I determined quickly that I wanted a half of the raspberry wheat on top, and a pretzel. The pretzel was fantastic. Fresh and served with stone ground mustard. I also determined quickly that my dad would LOVE their Pilsner and my little brother was gonna flip out over the Dark Persuasion. I got a bottle of each to go. I wish they'd had the Kolsch in bottles, but she said they won't be canning it until July 1 -- it is so smooth and easy to drink! I sat in the patio area outside on a slightly cloudy day in Leavenworth. I cozied up to the fire pit table in a pair of shorts and was completely comfortable. After enjoying my beer and my pretzel, I walked back inside and ended up chatting with another employee for another 20 minutes. She offered me some invaluable advice on my roadtrip. It took all of my power not to nab a shirt for a family member, but I figured with 2 bottles and a glass, that's probably the limit I should be spending here. The boyfriend and I have been to Icicle brewing a couple of times and always really enjoy ourselves. The brewery itself is pretty impressive, more upscale equipment than I would have imagined. The beer is good, not amazing, but good... Well except for one...on our first visit they had a limited release of an ale called Drumfire, it was a spiced ale and amazing!!!!! But I've never had it again, so sad. I also think they do food, like sandwiches but I've never tried them. On Friday nights they have live music, at least the Friday we were there they did. I love the table outside with the fire in the middle! Def stop by for some beer if you're in town or passing through, it's worth it. read more

Great beer, just don't get the beer with the description: "tastes like german chocolate cake." Yuk. Go to enjoy the beer, laugh with friends. Not much of a bar to sit at. Don't buy the food. For a snack with our beer, we ordered the "Harvest Plate" under the category "Artisan Plate." What a joke...the description was "Seasonally selected organic produce and sesame rice crackers served with roasted red pepper hummus. Garnished with local dried cherries and Bootjack IPA ginger-honey almonds." Take a look at the photo in this review for what we actually got. Not enough hummus for the amount of crackers and vegetable sticks we got. Everything seemed to come from a grocery store and not Icicle's kitchen. Dried cherries are disgusting on a hummus plate. This is the first 5 star review I've given only because of awesome beer. And here it is. Whether you've been backpacking in the Cascades, kayaking the nearby whitewater, slaying trout, or shredding powder, chances are there's a beer here for you. I walked in during happy hour ($3.75pints) and was pleasantly surprised to find that Icicle had just tapped a fresh hopped pale ale called "après harvest"(5.3%abv/36ibu)...my mind was blown. This is like the Sour Diesel of fresh hopped pale ales. Brewed with the coveted Mosaic hops, the après is super gold with notes of pineapple, citrus, and flower petal. It has a smooth mouthfeel and its hop forward taste is not at all bitter. Finishes dry like nothing happened...then after two, you're buzzed enough to need a bite. Speaking of bites, you're in the kitch-iest most awkward quintessential Bavarian mountain town, so order a damned pretzel. They're baked locally, warmed in a shitty toaster oven, salted, and served with a cheesy bechamel sauce. Mustard if ta want it. And you do. Because mustard is awesome. Service here is good...engaging and happy staff make you feel (almost) like it's ok that you're not a local. They'll steer you in the right direction...for beer, hiking, or good eats. 3.5 stars - great little place, nice patio and an upstairs above the bar with fun little metal twisty puzzles to keep you interested while tasting the brews. I highly recommend going for the sampler which comes in either 4 oz or 8 oz glasses on a nice taster wheel paddle with the names underneath for easy reference. It's always fun to drink beer when it's cold out. It was a full-on blizzard when we were here. The beer is good, but not awesome. The bootjack IPA was good but their amber was so so. Just not a ton of flavor. The food is ok, nothing special. If you order the sausage, it's small. Super small. We also shared a roast beef dip, but there wasn't a ton of meat on it. There is a lot of seating outside and upstairs. You order at the bar and then find a seat and it looks like it can get busy.
