My boyfriend and I wanted a mini getaway from the town we live in so we decided to drive an hour and a half away for some hand crafted ice cream after searching on Yelp. The quality exceeded my expectation. It was priced really cheap for what it's worth. Eat ice cream was priced at $7 including any toppings. It's located at such a cute area. There are place where you can walk around and enjoy what Pleasanton has to offer, if you're a tourist and are going during the day time. Employees are super friendly and was very informative since it was our first time trying Icicles. I got #9 and my boyfriend ordered #5. Mine was a matcha flavor and I had it topped off with mochi. My boyfriend's flavor was cookies and cream. If I had to chose between the two, I would definitely chose mine since I'm a matcha lover/maniac. read more

Came here on a hot night, and it was my first time. Line was long but understandable, Service was good, ice cream was good, and customer service was not bad. The cashier was slow because she was training someone. Overall not bad, liked the idea on how they call your name and make it personal, ice cream was good too. Love the way the ice cream is presented and the unlimited amount of toppings one can get, but three issues: 1. With a price point of $7, one can buy real top-quality ice cream for less at Whole Foods. 2. The sizes are way too big for a kid. After about 5 bites, both my kids were full. But I will say that I took them home and put the remainder in the freezer (wasn't about to let $14 of ice cream go to waste!). The rolled-up effect wasn't completely in tact, but it's still good ice cream. 3. I didn't see an option to try flavors. With such a creative menu, the $7 price point makes this a more high-risk venture. Unless 2-3 people are sharing a flavor, I don't see myself going back there again (the size is way too big). It's too bad because I think we need more places like this to update the downtown area. read more

Who doesn't love fresh ice cream??? I've been here 3 times now and had 3 different flavors . Nutella & Chill , Butter Face, and a very friendly register person refereed me to an upcoming flavor called Ferrari. Taste like that chocolate gold wrapper ball , Ferrero Rocher Chocolate . Every time I was amazed more then the last with the flavors, but the toppings are equally as important. So many to choose from but I wouldn't suggest so many toppings , they clash to much if you over do it. Staff gave great customer service even though they were working so hard making ice cream . They chat with you a little and make you feel welcomed . Great experience overall . Good time when you go with friends or family and catch up over a sweet treat . Basically the best ice cream I've had. That ice cream is extremely dense, like clay. But no ice crystals at all. I had the Mai Thai, and it was even hard to get my spoon through it - that is meant as a compliment. Flavors were great, too! If you like fluffy, airy ice cream, this isn't for you. $7 is more than I'd normally like to spend on ice cream, but this is such a unique place, and it's very tasty, so I'd go again. I've tried the cookie butter flavor (which really does taste like cookie butter), and fruity pebbles (which was yummy and has a nice crunchy texture from the cereal mixed in, and has a very mild flavor). They also let you add on any and all toppings that you want, and they have a lot of good options. The cheesecake bites are great! read more

I love icicles, I've gone to several locations & had no complaints so far but the location in pleasant disappointed me. The ice cream tastes like watered down milk. I've never had this problem with other locations. I always get the same flavor & they typically all taste the same besides at this location. They reached out to me after I posted my review and fixed the problem. They went beyond their way to satisfy the customer which is amazing. Customer service is 10/10. Yum! Love the Ferrarrii! And the All fudges up! Wait time was 10 min or so at around 9 pm on a weekday. But was worth it.

I love this place and went quite often when it first opened. The unlimited toppings idea is amazing and the ice cream tastes fresh. The service is great and they really care about how the rolls look. People usually complain when a lot of teens are working somewhere but everyone is so hard-working and patient. One thing that causes me to knock off a star: I know it's expensive to have a business Downtown but I can no longer afford to go here for ice cream. Especially when you can get rolled ice cream at places like Snowflake or custard at Rita's. Before it was always exactly $7; the last time I went it was $7.64. I just wish it were a little less pricey. Even $5 would be better than $7-8 plus tipping. I really want to tip the amazing people working there but just can't and it's sad. read more

No boba tea at this store! But their Gotcha Matcha and Mai Thai topped with condensed milk, mochi, boba, jellies comes pretty close to boba tea. Cost is a bit pricey and size is good to share. The Rock n Roll is their version of rocky road ice cream and it's good. The Bae-sic vanilla custard topped with raspberry drizzle looked good too. Will try that next time. read more

When first coming on December 3rd in to a very clean and respectful shop and having a wonderful selection of ice cream to choose from was shortly bummed that they didn't have my favorite flavor bravocado but then didn't have my other three!! Which was fine the team took care me and was very understanding. Once I got my ice cream and sat down, the staff approached me and said that they just finished making the flavor I wanted and then proceed to give me a cup of it!!!! Love it! Simply amazing! My family and I were surprised to find a dessert place like Icicles in the East Bay. You usually find these types of places in the South Bay. Lines are long and parking is challenging but it's worth the wait. There are 6-7 super-cold pans and you watch your dessert as it's being made. They have a variety of flavors to select from not to mention all the toppings too. We also found that their rolled ice cream doesn't melt as quickly as other places. You are paying for the "experience", and you pay a ton! Unlimited toppings, one size, for some mediocre fresh "made" ice cream. You pick from their standard mixtures which are a combo of ingredients along with plain cream. They then spread it out on a cold plate and scrape the ingredients together. Once it becomes a frozen layer they scrape it up into rolls. They then pressure you to hurry up and select toppings. We paid $20 for two cups - OUCH!!! read more

If you've ever tried an acai bowl i would say that is how big the size of the ice cream is, which I don't mind at all just be aware what you're getting into. I tried the butter face flavor with brownie bites, banana, and nutella drizzle as toppings! The ice cream was definitely not too sweet at all. It was decadent and tasted authentic (by that I mean, it doesn't taste like something you eat out of the tub). The rolled ice cream here tastes like nothing special it has no difference in flavor then compared to a place like Dairy Queen. If someone is coming here it is for the experience of rolled ice cream and switching being made in front of you. It is a entertaining thing to watch, but I bought a cup of rolled ice and it costed 7 dollars where the same amount of ice cream and the same flavor would cost 2-3 dollars. After you order you wait for your name to be called when there's a free station. The system they use doesn't seem very well organized and it's difficult to hear them over a large crowd. They charge $7 for a cup with unlimited toppings which is pretty steep. I went for the novelty factor but wouldn't go there regularly. THE BEST ROLLED ICE CREAM EVER. I came here for the first time after attending the county fair and everything was just amazing. There were a lot of people inside but the staff still managed to get everyone's orders out pretty quickly. I got the Mai Thai and got it within 10 minutes. My friends and I heard about Icicles from others and decided we would give it a shot. When we opened the door we were greeted with a welcome. I decided to get an Oreo Blast with brownie bites and condensed milk for toppings. I was met with a kind worker and they made the ice cream right before me. The only complaint I would have is not being able to hear what the employee was saying because of the loud music, but the service compensated for it. The ice cream was creamy, and the rolled shape really does add some wow factor. Taste wise it may not be as good as a high quality creamery, but it definately was a nice spot to have ice cream on a saturday afternoon. I love this place! So cute and so fun! The only things i would change are how quiet they call the names for our order. My family barely heard them and then if we didn't we wouldn't get to see what most people go there for. Thankfully one of us was close enough to hear the whisper. The windows to see the ice making happening are dirty and it's get really crowded super fast. It was fun but there was some stressful moments!
