I absolutely love this place! The ice cream is delicious, creamy, and so unique which I love. It is definitely more expensive than your average ice cream shop, but truly, you are also paying for the experience. I love watching my ice cream being made and I love all the ice cream options they have. My favorites are Nutella and Chill and Oreo Blast. The only reason I am giving this place four stars instead of five is because the wait is absolutely insane. During our last two visits we have had to wait 45 minutes from the moment we stood in line until the moment we got our ice cream. While this isn't their fault, I wish there was a better way to take orders and organize everything so that the store doesn't get claustrophobic. Other than that, I recommend this place! I think the wait is worth it and I hope they open new locations! Also props to all the employees for remaining calm and patient in such a fast paced, crowded environment. read more

I am disappointed to be here. My kid always comes here to get there rock n roll. Comes with marshmallows and today the Marshmallows were not fresh and my kid can tell and I tried it. Yes been out at the counter for sometime. I let the people in the counter knows that the marshmallows were bad and we like to get it RE-done. Which they were fine and we are happy to let them get it right, but NO it was the same same same. I ask him if he use the same marshmallows and he said that's the only ones they got. Are You seriously WTF, you got a second chance but you can't even make it right after we told you the problem was the marshmallows. I decided to try out Icicles because of the early hype I'd be seeing/hearing from people. I didn't get it. I'll start by saying the service was good. The staff were all what I assume are high school/college kids and they were generally very friendly and engaging while either working at the cash register or rolling my ice cream. Other than the service, the food itself was mediocre. I ordered the Strawberry Fantasy (strawberry ice cream + graham cracker + toppings) and my friend ordered the Matcha (green tea ice cream + toppings), both we agreed lacked any flavor or creaminess. With the rolled ice cream, I assumed I was getting a light and creamy ice cream (perhaps I'm mistaken), but what I got instead was what amounted to icy cream. Flavor-wise, the matcha was overpowering and the strawberry didn't even taste like strawberry. I believe this was the first time I can remember in my life where I voluntarily chose not to finish ice cream I had ordered. Maybe it was simply a bad experience and in the future perhaps I'll shall give Icicles another chance but for now I don't see myself returning again. read more

Interesting and different than any standard ice cream shops . Different way of serving . Lines are too long , it takes a long time to get your frozen treat. First long lines and than long time to freeze/make/roll custard . After that, another line to get toppings . They really need to organize this better. WOW!!! This is by far one of the best ice creams I have ever had in my entire life. I have to say it was a lot different than the ordinary creamy ice cream. I just love the texture of the ice cream. I also enjoyed watching the employees roll up my ice cream. I got the Oreo blast and it was just delightful. You first order and pay for your ice cream and then when they are ready to make your ice cream they call out your name and make it right in front of you. Then they hand over your ice cream to the employee who deals with the toppings and they add whatever you like. It's also located in a beautiful and safe area. I suggest YOU try this place! read more

Since it's so new I think they would benefit from either someone up front who lets customers know how it works or have a sign in front with steps. We came with a group and they were confused. First timer! This little ice cream shop was located in the heart of Pleasanton. The environment was a cute and antique-like town with lots of people coming in for those ice cream rolls. I ordered the Cereal Killer and my friend got the Bravocado. For the Cereal Killer, I got fruity pebbles for my cereal. I was expecting the cereal to be soggy but it actually came out nicely crunchy! I was super stoked about that and I enjoyed this ice cream. But I thought that it melted a bit too fast for me to actually savor every bite. I don't know if I'm just a slow eater but my friend's Bravocado didn't melt as fast compared to mine. I would get this flavor again but I am more excited for the Bravocado. The Bravocado was better than I had expected! Usually with avocado-flavored products, the avocado flavor is a bit too weak and not rich for my liking. But this avocado flavor was so good because of the richness and decadence of the real avocados they used. The flavor is definitely not as sweet as other flavors but I appreciate that and I'm sure my mom would too since she loves avocados and not-so-sweet things. Next time I come, I'm definitely getting the Bravocado. I really appreciate the free toppings bar- they're definitely not stingy with the toppings! The prices of these rolls can be pricey to some- it was nearly 7$ for one order of the rolls! There were a couple tables and chairs here and there. Ours was kinda stingy with the flavors, I ordered the strawberry and he put only 2 small strawberries... and he wasn't friendly, definitely in a rush and was chit chatting with his friends while making my order. Went back again by the request of my cravings as well as friends. We went on a Thursday night around 6 o'clock. Parking: not many parking spots right in front of icicles. It's all about luck if you get a spot or not. Otherwise you will have to do a small amount of walking. Exterior: not much to say. We went when it was raining so no chairs/tables were set outside. Only a sign with two bright lights. Interior: very clean and well kept. Each table seemed to be clean as can be. Each viewing glass was also clean. Environment: quite besides the customers talking amongst themselves. Workers: My three friends and I came when it was empty. There was a group of 3 at a table in the corner studying and 1 worker present. After we ordered bigger groups came in one right after the other with only 1 worker taking payments AND making each serving. Obviously this made it a long wait. The man was very polite and nice. He remained calm as people continued to flow in. Once he served all the medium sized groups came in a large family of at least 12 came in. This is when 2 of the 3 individuals came from the corner table to clock in and help the 1 worker. This frustrated me a little because I could tell the individual was struggling to do everything on his own and they would not help. They only began to help once a family of 12 came in. If the other 2 workers got up to help ahead of time many of the groups behind me would not have had to wait 30+ minutes. I just believe they should not have only 1 person working or else it will be a super long wait. No complaints to the 1 worker though because he was so polite and calm. Ice cream: Awesome as always. Their ice cream exceeds expectations. I expected the texture to be gritty and crystallized, but it was smooth and creamy. I ordered the matcha and the flavor was exactly right. This is one of the best rolled ice cream spots I've been to. I would definitely recommend the coffee flavor (I think it's called "Wake Me Up"). The ice cream is thick and very creamy which makes it quite heavy! If that's how you prefer ice cream, then you'll love this place. Definitely the highlight of this spot is unlimited toppings. There's quite a variety of toppings as well as cereal dispensers you can use at any time. First time I came here last week sometime to mainly check out Icicles since I kept seeing video's on youtube others making delicious melt in your mouth good ice cream but rolled up, "Whaa?? Step 1 - There's a menu board behind the register and you pick a number corresponding to the kind of ice cream you are craving for at the moment. You tell the employee, he/she will ask for your name who will then write on the paper cups and you pay. Step 2 - The employee will then call your name and you get to watch the employee create your yummy desert. Step 3 - They'll ask you to choose toppings, which I personally LOVE Marshmallow and they'll torch it for more entertainment. Haha For take out, Icclicles do provide you with lids/spoons however IF you're doing a multiple take out for other family members, it's best you bring your own plastic bag to carry the ice cream out. Thankfully, I had a stroller with me, but without it, not sure what I would have done. Maybe, downing 2 ice cream all by myself? lol Overall a good place however I felt awkward having to watch them make 2 orders. lol One order for me and another order for my husband who stayed home. Went here yesterday to because I had a hankering for some ice cream and my gf had heard good things. I got the Cereal Killer ice cream with Fruity Pebbles. Certainly didn't disappoint. The experience is awesome. Watching them make the ice cream fresh on the giant cold plates (Thai ice cream) was new to me and it was delicious. Got it topped with condensed milk and cheesecake bites. One of the best ice cream places I've been to. I honestly want to buy one of the cold plates because this is such a fun way to make your own type of ice cream. I will definitely be coming back. The only thing keep this from being a 5 star review is the price. It's $7 per ice cream, significantly more expensive than the same amount of frozen yogurt or Cold Stone.
