There are plenty of great grocery stores in the neighborhood. This is not one of them. I purchased a melon from them that went bad. Two days after purchasing I took the uncut melon back. Like every other grocery store, I expected them to allow me to swap it out for a good one without issue. Instead the manager told me that I had waited too long to return it. This store sold me a rotten product and now I have to eat the cost? If you don't trust that your products can last more than one day you shouldn't be selling them at full price. I will not be returning here. I do not recommend it. read more

The staff at this store are so warming and friendly and it's literally a pleasure to shop there. Just went to Super Fi because I live in the neighborhood, and I am completely impressed with the store! They have a lot of variety and healthy options as well in terms of the processed foods. They have produce and a variety of organic fruits and veggies. I live that in each section there are foods that are organic, have no additives, or high fructose corn syrup. It's tough to find in the city without having to pay $$$$. They could use more variety with their assortment and more produce, but I still think they are in the soft launch phase. read more

Stopped by today to see the place (I've been so excited about it!) and really like what I saw. The store has yet to have a full "grand opening", so this was more of a "soft opening", and I appreciate the fact that they didn't want to keep the neighborhood waiting any longer. I was impressed with the baked goods, veg & fruit, meat and deli. It's not a Whole Foods, sure (which is almost always overpriced anyway..) but I was happy with the healthier options in store. The store also has much wider aisles and just feels far more open than Fine Fare. Which is something I really prefer. Can't wait for the "grand opening"! read more

Convenience that you don't need to pay for. There are only a few things I need in a grocery: fresh produce, cheap(ish) prices, and not out of my way. Thankfully, Super Fi is right by the apartment on the way home from work, their produce is relatively fresh, and the price definitely don't break the bank. Staples like eggs and milk are on sale often and my the vegetables I buy vary, depending on the circular for that week. One huge plus is the staff: they are always extremely cheerful and willing to help you find something. I've never had an experience with poor attitude or indifference to checking me out (well, my groceries). Can't really say too much about a grocery store, but it's definitely my go-to in the neighborhood. read more

Stopped by this supermarket today and it is very beautiful. Extremely friendly staff that I think will fit in very nicely with the community. Prices seemed fair. Had a chance to speak to some of the staff and I was pleased to hear all their meats are purchased through porky's rather than some of these second hand suppliers that many other stores use to cut cost. They also explained that they have yet to meet with many of their distributors which is one of the reasons many of the products they will carry have yet to arrive. They asked me to be patient as they promised to work hard to get the right mix of products that I need. Another surprise is their community facility. I was told it is not ready yet, but it will be within the next couple of weeks. Their goal to help educate the community to learn better eating habits. They plan on hosting such events as diabetes courses, cooking courses, organic courses, etc... I applaud their effort to give back and do something that no other store would care to do. The moral to the story is that it's only been 2 days since they have been open. Lets all give this business a chance. Nothing is ever perfect, but at least this store seems to be headed in the right direction. Keep up the good job and welcome to the neighborhood Super Fi! read more

I love my new grocery store! I just moved into the area a few months ago and this is so convenient for me. The produce is always looking fresh, the deli guys and most of the people that work there are really nice and helpful and it's always very clean. The sales are pretty great too and last a while! I always see new stuff coming into their store so I'm really happy to pop in and see what's new. If you live in the area I highly recommend this place. Every worker in the store and I made it a point to ask where something is if they didn't know they say the don't speak English (blank stare). SMH. This is a great grocery store with reasonable prices and large selection. The employees are always really friendly. I would have given 5 stars except that I have bought chicken before that was near going bad and probably should not have been offered for sale. I've experienced this on two occasions, so now I buy all of my groceries here except for chicken. Also, sometimes the sale prices don't ring up at the cashier counter so you have to watch the prices as they come up on the screen to make sure no errors. read more

Was looking forward to this place opening up in the neighborhood, everything was great the first time I went in, but it's really taken a nosedive since. The produce is terrible: today they were selling rotten brown bags of kale that expired days ago. There was actually mold on the beets, which, after being misted, dripped all over the spinach and broccoli below. Yum. Lemons rotten too. But hey, the beer selection is great. I liked the store at first but its just getting frustrating because the aisles are only big enough for one person to go threw with a cart. And today i spent eight bucks on a small chopped meat and an orange juice. So im noticing the prices are going up but out of all things they allowed a dog into the store and it seemed like everywhere i went the damn dog was there even at the deli counter with unwrapped meat and cheeses that was just gross. Also they run out of things and instead of restocking that item they just add something new! I cant get used to this store at all. I think i'll have to start going back to 3rd ave where i know everything i need for a meal will be there. And i wished that they would start advertising the sale on.poland springs water instead of waiting for me to get to the register with cases of other water, then they say they only keep it in the back like wtf?? This grocery store is a breath of fresh air in East Harlem/the UES! By far the most pleasant and reasonably priced grocery store in my hood. They have a quite decent selection, fairly large produce section, great international food options (particularly Latin), lots of great beers and friendly checkout people. It's not the closest to my apartment being about 6.5 blocks away but I don't mind making the small trek for a much more pleasant and affordable shopping experience! read more

I've been working in Harlem for 8 years, and never have seen such a impressive supermarket with such professionalism and best customer service, I walk in and the employees have the best energy in helping me out in finding everything I need and if they don't carry a item I'm looking for no time is wasted, next time I come in, the store will carry it!!! They now have a juice bar which is great because I work out a few blocks down from the supermarket, morning girl that works behind the counter makes my juices on point with each ingredient sometimes I ask to surprise me with a healthy drink and never fails her juices are on point each time..... I only gave 3 stars.. First off they don't have a variety of certain items or sizes... The MEAT dept. Needs upgrading...meat does not look all that great... ... A family pack of meat contains 3 little pieces of meat and pricey.. The deli dept.... is very slow... Produce dept. Is always missing something I need every time I shop... I rather shop in the super market on 3rd Ave or in the shop I work in... overall it's a nice store that needs more work! Staff is nice. read more

Was a little harsh in my initial review calling it a "nicer Fine Fair". They definitely have a far better produce section (including some organic options) than the supermarket down the block. Still disappointing to see so few vegan/vegetarian food choices but they did ask my wife for some ideas on products she'd like to see so maybe that will improve in the future.
