They clearly either lost our order or gave it to someone else. Halloween night, slow service would certainly be forgivable. What happened to us was that we ordered, got our salads and bread and drinks. After quite awhile they called our name. We went right up to the counter but after looking for our order we were told it wasn't done. Then we waited another 30 minutes. Clearly something happened. People who came after us got their food, finished and left. We continued to sit and wait. We went up again. Finally well after and hour and after so many people came, ordered, ate and left we received our pizza. It was good hot pizza. Clearly something happened. So I'm leaving a 5 star review to bring up the 3.7 star average for this restaurant. Because I believe it absolutely deserves a higher rating than that. Is it the absolute best pizza I've ever had? No. (Im a bit of a pizza snob though) However, it was really good. And would absolutely go and order again. They have the good homemade ranch (if you're like me and love a good quality ranch with your pizza) The crust was very yummy and toppings were a perfect balance. Not too much or too little. It was made actually kinda pretty as well. Not slipped together. The service was great. You walk up to order. The young gentlemen there were very helpful and very polite. Yes ma'am / no ma'am. The only thing was that I wasn't a huge fan of the oil and vinegar dressing. The service was quick and the seating was decent. There was plenty of seating. Not even kidding some of the best pizza I've ever had!! I'm actually surprised this place only has 3.5 stars. I heard that it was good but I'm usually hesitant when I hear such great things about pizza places because I feel like a lot of pizza can be pretty standard and I'm never really wowed. This place, however, did not disappoint. At least it didn't disappoint me! My family and I went on a very busy Saturday afternoon so we had to wait almost an hour for our pizza to be ready. That wasn't fun. We got a 12" with traditional crust, pepperoni, canadian bacon, and the spicy red sauce. They have a few beers on tap . Seating was alright but it was busy during our visit . There's about two flat screen tvs. We ordered : Small dinner salad : - tiny portion with tons of black olives (not a fan). There wasn't much lettuce. Wouldn't order this again Side of meatball : - menu said $1.50 for one . Cashier asked if I wanted marinara sauce and cheese with meatball . I asked if there was extra charge and he said no. Dish comes out with one small meatball surrounded by ton of sauce and cheese . Receipt showed we were charged $2.29 but the amount of sauce and cheese made up for it . Meatball was nicely flavorful . Large thin pizza with sausage , mushrooms, green olives $21.47: - the pizza was wonderfully thin and the dough was delicious . The green olives were plentiful . It was more ground sausage than chunks of sausage . I liked the pizza . It's serve yourself so nothing fancy but I like that . Friend tried two of their IPAs on tap . Not horribly priced either . The service and food at this place are great! They're friendly, courteous, and responsive. The food is really outstanding. Especially great are the calzones. The...best...calzones...ever, IMHO. The pizza is great too. They have other things too that we haven't had, but if they are anything like the pizza and calzones, they're good too. No question, this is one of the best places to go to in Idyllwild. It's a casual atmosphere, with TVs usually showing sports, and a pretty relaxed feeling. We order from here quite a bit, and find the food to be pretty good...though a little inconsistent. This review is for the service, and writing it in hopes that the owners do a better job with training their staff. We have gotten the wrong order, items left out ie sauce many times. This is inconvenient because we don't always want to drive back to get the missing items or the correct order. When you do let the staff know the order is wrong or they have gotten your name wrong when they call it over the speaker, they consider it your fault or problem. Their staff is less than helpful and friendly...A "Thank You" goes a long way with me, and seems like a pretty simple and kind jester when one is spending money at a business. Allowing indoor dining during a case spike, not providing hand sanitizer, and not enforcing social distancing is absolutely wild to see. all of Southern California is in 'purple' and they are just flouting guidelines. This weekend has been so hot in Idyllwild and I was becoming miserable quickly. Looked for a dinner place but the first restaurant we went didn't have the AC. Came to this place instead and found arcade, friendly staff, fresh tasty warm food, and the AIR CONDITIONING. What more can a young family want? The place keeps my kid busy. Hubby is nostalgic of his 80's through 90's upbringing - 80's games and 90's music. (He was wondering if his eyes are getting bad or his eyes have become too spoiled with modern high definition screens.) The five cheese pizza is phenomenal. Dinner salad came with a nice Ranch dressing. My spaghetti with meatball is warm and tasty in this temperature controlled restaurant. So happy we came here tonight. Very unsanitary! When I walked up to order I saw a young girl with brown hair eating a cookie in the kitchen. I almost said something since she was eating next to someone else making food, but I let it go. I decided to let it go and waited for our beers. While the nice man at the counter was pouring our beers I saw an older woman with light hair push the door to the left open, take off her mask, and sneeze right into her gloves. I have a feeling the phone fell off the hook on my first call, but disappointed they probably haven't noticed enough to fix the phones so new calls can come in. I really had a good time here....the antique bikes on the wall are worth the trip. We ordered an Antipasti Salad and a Veggie Gourmet Pizza, with no olives. I thought it was well prepared, generous with the toppings ( on the pizza and salad) and the crust was perfect. I lived the pizza. I visit Idyllwild frequently and this will be a regular stop for me. Not vegan friendly. No vegan cheese. I asked why not just keep some frozen so you have it available for vegans. Their solution is that you go to the store and pick some up to put on the pizza. So I ordered cheeseless, first order came out with cheese so reordered and came out very undercooked. Third time not a charm, still undercooked. Very light on mushrooms. Also a little expensive.
