Let me tell you, about a month ago my wife's iPhone7Plus started having the dreaded IC AUDIO issue after all this time...caller can't hear anyone due to microphone, speakerphone option grayed out, couldn't record voicenotes. Her battery at the time also was shot where if she didn't charge at night, it would be dead by morning. Ordered a new iPhone13ProMax to fix that, but wanted to get the 7Plus repaired as a spare for my 10 year old daughter or my wife, as a "just in case". We live in Northern California, and as I found this repair place, and one in Vegas, we were already going to be in SoCal at a Memorial Service in a few weeks. Corresponded via email with Gene during the week prior to traveling, and was able to drop off the phone close to 11am on a Saturday. Gene found the battery was shot during diagnostic check and gave me an option of an Aftermarket or OEM Apple battery replacement. I opted for aftermarket since it would be a spare. By 12:55p I received a call that IC AUDIO Chip Repair and Battery replacement was done. Left the memorial during the socializing session for a hot second, drove the 18 miles from where the service was and picked up the phone from Gene's shop. Excellent service, excellent price, and super timely. Coordinating timing couldn't have been easier considering we were 360 miles from home and only in the SoCal area for 24 hours. I'd recommend Gene for repairs. I spent at least 3 weeks searching for shops in Northern California to fix this issue, was laughed at multiple times, and one even told to "Maybe ask China?" WTH. For those of you looking for the shop, both times I was there, a car was blocking the side entrance door, so I missed it the first time. Once you turn left into the driveway, the entrance is a single glass door that leads into a LONG corridor. The repair shop is like the 3rd or 4th floor on the left of that hallway. Now I know of someone reputable and honest, and if any complicated "out of warranty issues" arise in any of the current Apple Products we own, I'll ship via USPS to Gene w no hesitation. Phones are just so expensive nowadays, that I couldn't see not getting this phone repaired as a backup, even if it will only be used for 48-72 hours. read more

I went in to get one of my camera lens fixed because it was broken and after taking a look at it, Gene, the owner said it would only take 20 minutes. Fastest repair ever. This is a very well deserved review and I wish there were more than 5 stars available. Gene was responsive, friendly, and professional. He was also very skilled at his work. I started with bringing in 2 broken phones. An IPhone 12 with shattered screen and an old iPhone SE (2nd gen) with a broken button. Both items needed 24 hours to repair so I did need to return. Gene was able to determine the broken screen had not damaged the digitizer, but only the top glass. In not replacing the digitizer but just the glass he saved me ~$150. Both screen (glass & digitizer) would have been over $270. Thank you, Gene for the great work! On the old iPhone SE the button could have been a significant repair needing the replacement of several "expensive" parts. We both determined that the value of the phone wasn't worth it; but Gene asked to try a labor intensive but lower cost ($50) repair of the issue; which turned out to totally work. Thanks again, Gene! When I came back for the phones I brought an old iPad (6th gen) that had a broken charging port. Item also needed 24 hours for repair, but Gene quickly determined the port wasn't broken but it was a hardware issue more internal (I don't recall what the part was called). Again, the potential cost of parts could have quickly surpassed the value of the old iPad; but Gene again worked his skill and was able to repair the connection for a very reasonable fee ($70).
