The Pizza is their original take on the Margherita and I highly recommend it. My main complaint is that the beer is pricey, which deterred me from ordering but I won't count that against them. However, it is cash only which is a little annoying if you don't have any cash on you. But don't worry, there's an ATM! There's lines nearby for other pizza joints, and I can't speak towards those but this place is a great pizza spot if you don't feel like waiting in the other lines. Consistently bad. I imagine the rent to be very high--though prices have gone up 25%-30%+ in the last 2 years, presumably to accommodate this along with inflation. Most recently, the size of the pizza has been cut by a 3rd in ADDITION to the skyrocketing price. But by far the worst thing is that they don't COOK the pizza. Occasionally it can be good. But most of the time, it's burnt both top and bottom, and there's visible raw dough in places where the pizza is not burned. Things work out poorly even after trying to cook the pizza at home post-arrival. They must be forced to move these pizzas as quickly as possible, and they can't keep them in the oven long enough at the temps necessary to actually cook them. I have to say avoid. read more

I tried their pizza once before on a food tour in DUMBO and fell in Looooove. Came back here today with my bf for a cheese slice. At $4 a slice it's pretty insane cost wise but the pizza is amazing! Such a unique spin on your traditional cheese pizza, the added basil is really what sets it off. I will say though they treat this place like a VIP nightclub. There was a girl at the door who opened it for us and informed us that the restaurant is cash only, luckily there was an Atm inside. A bit bougie of a place for my taste but if you want to enjoy a beautiful day at the park in DUMBO with a good slice this is the place to stop. read more

I would like to point out that Ignazio is like the step sister to Juliana's. I have pizza the first time form this place because I didn't want to wait for the pick up (yup not dine in but take out) so I decided to give Ignazio a try. Now I don't know why they don't have better reviews because honestly they are good decent pizza! We ordered white clam and "the pizza" pies. First let me say I have had white clam pizza elsewhere and usually it is a hit or miss, it can be challenging to get a white clam and have it too soggy. This one is not! The flavor and the amount of white clam on the pizza should make it soggy but it isn't. The Pizza is not your average pizza, fresh, crusty and of course I did check off "well done" on my order preference so if that's what you like make sure you do the same. The garlic bread is so awesome that it never made it home, as my 11 yo wolfed it down on the ride home. I would try them again and when I picked up the pizza I checked the interior space and it is more spacious than Juliana's and have better view too. Came to Ignacio's for dinner in a weeknight with a group of work people. We had a blast with a friendly and flirty waitress - who we later found out was the daughter of the owner. Great experience overall... it's nice to have staff that acknowledge you as a human Being, make playful banter, and are knowledgeable about the menu and can make recommendations. So anyhow, we ordered the clam pie and the pepperoni pie and both were some of the best we have had in the borough. Crisp, tasty crust. Pizza and salad very good, not great. What was great was immediate seating on a busy night in the area, high chair for kids, reasonable wine and beer, clean with nice view of action outside. We were excited to try this place because of its exceptionally high score on One Bite but the pie we ordered was just ok. We got their regular pie with onions and peppers as toppings. The peppers were spicy to our liking but overall I can't rave about the pizza because I thought there were too many Italian spices. The pizza crust was more like focaccia. I think the plain slices which you can only order for takeout might be more to my liking. As an appetizer we got stuffed mushrooms but I can't in good conscious recommend those to anyone. The stuffing was dry and not that tasty and the mushrooms weren't the best so together it made for a rather bland dish. Located right near Grimaldi's and Juliana's, Ignazio's doesn't receive the proper recognition. It is a classic NY slice, with delicious pockets of flavor and a perfect crispy crunch. After having a slice, it leaves you wanting even more, something we didn't feel with the other two "powerhouses" around the corner. Pizza! Pizza! Pizza! To be honest, this was not our first choice when we were looking for a pizza place but since the line wasn't long (YET) and the wait time was shorter, we opted for Ignazio's. We had three medium sized pizzas and we got the Sicilian, the White (with chicken and bacon), and the pizza (with ham and pineapple). The white was pretty creamy and tasty and my friends loved it. For me, I liked the Pizza better--the pineapples were not cut up but it seemed like it was seared or something. For drinks we had your regular soda but in a cutesy size little bottle--really enjoyed that. The waiters were really nice and hospitable. The music taste was pretty good! This used to be an OK place that I felt sorry for because the other pizza spots were so much better, and it was so easy to get into since I live in the area. It also had a nice vibe, a father and daughter moved from Mystic CT to open a pizza shop in the Big Apple...but the pizza was NEVER more than OK. Now, it's new owners have reduced it to an amateur hour tourist trap. Trust me, there is never a line for this place for a reason, and if there is, people only make the mistake of going here because the lines are too long for any of the other spots that are 10 times better in the area. Better to wait 2 hours on line at Patsy's or Grimaldis or even risk food poisoning for a dollar slice than waste your time at this "no bathroom" hustle. Don't be lured to this dead end by phony reviews from Yelp "Elites" that trade free meals or $$$ for dishonest reviews. Yeah the view is kind of like the pizza, you don't get the full picture and it leaves you feeling short changed. Ignazio's could be such a star of DUMBO. But it's not. After you've walked the Brooklyn Bridge with your family, you want to show them "Brooklyn pizza" in DUMBO. You'll go past the famous Grimaldi's where the pizza is OK-ish but the service is so shockingly awful, almost abusive, that you do not want to take your mom there... Then, there's Juliana's, which is in fact the REAL Grimaldi - Patsy - the man who founded Grimaldi's decades ago. There is a line again, the pizza is better than Grimaldi's, it's a it more expensive, too. But if you don't want to wait in a line, you'll keep going and you'll find Ignazio's. It's got a beautiful view and a lot of times, it doesn't have a line. Now, it's an unpopular vote, for sure, but I like this pizza best. It's different from the other two, but when you get the whole pie, it's absolutely delicious. So I would say, come here. Unfortunately, since most of Ignazio's customers are "stupid" tourists, he does something that I absolutely hate. In addition to be "cash only" (which is already shady), he adds 20% tip to your bill and then he "suggests gratuity" as if nothing happened, hoping that you're just seduced by the view of Brooklyn Bridge and the East River with Downtown skyline and you won't notice that you're being robbed. It's a disgusting practice which, to me, is pretty much equal to stealing and should be banned. Shame on you, Ignazio! At least the service, for which many pay 40% I bet, is pleasant. The white pizza hands down is a must try. We order half white half red and I found myself wanting to exchange my red slices for the white ones. The pie was so tasty with the fresh taste of garlic (real garlic not powder) and fresh green herbs ( not dried out of the shaker bottle). The cheese combination was great they all complimented each other. And none of that white bachemel other places pass off as more cheese on this pie. It was an ugly day so it wasn't very busy. I must go on a pretty day when they get packed to se if anything changes. It's a popular place and honestly I enjoyed it more than having to go through the Grimaldi long wait to just get a pie. What's with all the bad reviews? Thanks to a friend who never checks Yelp, we stumbled into this place after seeing the lines for Grimaldis and Julianas and were pleasantly surprised. Sure, the wait was still long even though we were the first in line. Sure, they told us 5 minutes when in reality it was 25. Cash only and pricey pizza... but hey, it was good! We got the special: avocado bacon tomato. It wasn't really anything special but it was pretty tasty. I got a cappuccino which took a long time also.
