The beans were pretty good but the asada lacked the smoky, charred flavor that I like. For today's visit to Iguana's, I tried two new items. The Asada burrito was really good. The portion size was more than generous and is a lunch/meal on its own when paired with salsa. The star of today's visit was the Tacos De Papa. The potato was seasoned very well and was smooth and buttery. The crema and crisp lettuce combined with the tasty red and green salsas made for an enjoyable experience. I would have ditched the burrito and ordered 3 more potato tacos if I knew how good they would be. I order two Asada burrito with cheese no rice but the bad thing is they didn't put no onion and cilantro in it. I ordered two Asada tacos. I'm not gonna lie. The taco was better than the burrito they gave me some fresh chips to go with my order. They was nice and fresh. They sauce is nasty. They gave me a red and a green that was water down,but baby the guacamole sauce is good.The place was nice and clean and it smells fresh and I think the man that took my order I think he was the owner and he was very nice polite and friendly, but they need to improve on their food. Today I had green chilaquilas with rice and beans. They come with eggs, but I opted out with the egg. So delicious. Honestly. Hubby had the wet green chili burrito. Very very flavorful. Also, try their aguas Frescas. They are Homemade. Went there Sunday for the first time since the owners of Rancho Grande sold it--and I have to say it was different and that is fine it's a new business-- It doesn't feel as family orientated as it did, my granddaughter had her first taste of Spanish rice when it was rancho grande, and we loved going there and feeling like family and affordable. The food is different--our friends said the same thing they said the first time they went when it reopened it was okay then the second time it was good and this time it wasn't as good and they said they think the cook was different this time. Came to check out Iguana's Mexican Food AGAIN which bought the long time favorite Rancho Grande. First time here little asked for a chile verde burrito which they don't make but the owner Douglas made up for it by topping it with a yummy tomatillo sauce. Sadly I was disappointed this time expecting a warm hearty carnitas burrito. This time it was cold inside and the tomatillo sauce was watery and was just the same as their cold tomatillo salsa just poured on top for $2.00 extra, not worth the 2 bucks. Plus we had to pay extra for it to be served "Wet" this time. I told the worker that Douglas didn't charge us for the "Wet" option last time. She made it clear that she was Douglas's wife Claudia and the cost for "wet" would be $2 extra. I said, "I'm surprised he didn't introduce you when I was talking to her husband Douglas. She said, "I was probably in the kitchen cooking". We both ordered the carnitas burrito for $5.99 on Burrito Thursdays only. This time the burrito came to our table cold inside. I brought them to owner Claudia's attention and she had them remade quickly but the tomatillo sauce was still lackluster. I also noticed that the burritos weren't consistently made, my girlfriend's burrito had way more carnitas while mine had way more rice & beans. I did ask for the house made tomatillo salsa to doctor my burrito but it was just more lackluster sauce and couldn't save this disappointing experience.
