This place is terrible. I generally think chain restaurants are pretty much all the same and kept up to a certain standard, but boy is that not the case. I went here with a fairly large group (about 10 of us) on a Sunday night. When I walked in and told the waitress we were a large party, she looked horrified. Ummm... it is a coffee shop/diner and it's the weekend. This should not be a huge shocker. Not a little mom and pop cafe. She sets up the table in the back, leaves the menus in a pile, and then comes to the front and goes, "Oh, you can go back there." So we seated ourselves, and passed out our own menus. A few minutes later, a bus boy or someone came to get our drink orders. Within 3 people, he looked feaked out and said, "I don't think I can remember all this, so let me get your waitress." She finally came. I told her that we were going to need individual checks. "How many?" Um, individual means for each of us. "We each need a separate check. We are all paying separately." She says she cannot do that but she can split the table in two if we want. "Ok, fine," we say and then she says, "Well, how many checks do you need?" Lady... I just told you... we ideally want individual checks, like Denny's (RIGHT NEXT DOOR) is more than happy to do for a large party. You said you CANNOT do that. Why are you asking me what we need? We need to pay separately. We are friends dining out together. Do you never see that? Whatever... I ordered the unlimited coffee to drink. It's a place that specializes in breakfast, so this should be common, yes? There was a pitcher of cold coffee from probably that morning (it was full, but cold) left on the table. They brought me one cup full, but never brought me a pitcher or offered me a refill. At $2.79 for coffee... like 4 ounces in that cup should have been an espresso. They only had sugar on the tables no creamer. After dumping in two packets of sugar, I realized that every other table in the whole room had place settings except the tables she had dumped our menus on. Seeing as how our waitress was nowhere in sight, I just got up and rounded up place settings for all of us so I could get a spoon to stir my freaking coffee. Eventually, she came to take our food order. About 45 minutes later, my pancakes come, and they taste nothing like the ones at the other IHOP restaurants I have been to. They were not light and fluffy, and they were kind of cold, which isn't that big of a deal since we were a large party, but whatever. Finally, we get our two checks. Things are mixed up and kind of a mess. They are split into two checks, but not by the correct seats. Things from one half of the table are on the other check and whatnot, but we work out what to pay to make it work, and I walk up to the front with three credit cards, the amounts pre-tip to pay for each, so we can add tip on the tip line, and the rest in cash. The same waitress is the only one there, and she looks mortified. "Wait, what? I can't do three cards on one check. I don't know how." Seriously? You told us you couldn't split the checks? We told you we needed to pay separately. She tried to take the cash first, like literally, she GRABBED it out of my hand, and I explained that wouldn't work because by the time she got to the last card, there would be nothing left to charge. We need to run the cards first. I start talking her through what to do, "Put $12.50 in the amount, and then run this card first," and she gets all confused and picks up the phone and calls her manager who tries to walk her through it and starts giving her the same directions as I was giving her. She manages to get almost all the way to the end, but then on the last card charges the $19 we told her to, but then closes it out. I'm holding all the cash, so she prints the receipt and I say, "Wait, this is wrong, you just charged the card you were supposed to charge for $19 for $42." She deletes that charge. She then gets all confused and takes all our cash (again, rips it out of my hand), and ultimately tries to tell us that we still owe her $12, when we had enough for the entire bill + tip when we first walked up there, but she had completely deleted the $19 charge and was acting like she didn't. At this point, I had to get out a calculator and SHOW her that her math was wrong after forcibly ripping the cash out of her hand to count it and show her that it all added up correctly and SHE was wrong. I asked to speak with a manager and she told me SHE was the the only one there tonight. She was in charge. The manager wasn't there. I ended up having to go as I was WAY late, given that I didn't think dinner would take THREE hours. Seriously... what a dive. The people running this place have no idea what to do and left a completely untrained person alone on a weekend. I hope the IHOP corporate office does something about his dump of an IHOP and retrains the management because it is the IHOP brand they are destroying. read more

I worked in a restaurant before so I understand the idea of flipping tables, especially when your busy. But when there is no line of people waiting and not even half of the tables are filled with customers there is no reason to rush people to order and not even half way through three meal give them their check! My server never looked at me all he wanted was my order and when I asked for a refill on a 3 dollar drink he acted like I was out of line! The only reason I give this 2 stars is because the food was okay... if not for the terrible service the food wouod have tasted better... absolutely horrible. I will never be back, Dennys at least treats their customers as people and not robots. read more

The staff is very friendly, patient, and open to accommodate to the best of their ability. When my group came in, we were quite difficult (though not on purpose). I was picky at how my drink was made and another member wanted her meal made a certain way. The waitress happily waited though the many questions and request she had, say "You tell me what you want and I'll make it happen." The food was delicious and all was decently price. If you're looking for somewhere to stop off the rode, I'd here is a good bet. read more

For the food, You either like Ihop or not. As other Yelpers have said, chain restaurants are pretty much all the same. The key is to get a waiter who will get your order right with a smile, which is what we got here. His name is Joseph. Great waiter. Very attentive and got the order right. When did Ihop turn into a dive restaurant?? We came in here after many years from seeing their ads on TV for specialty pancakes. (Absence was not intended due to a past problem) But at 1pm, we hoped to miss the rush. I guess we were in time for a messy restaurant! Table was sticky, my menu had the last page completely stuck together, and the floor was a mess! We almost got up and left...and had I gone to the bathroom first, we would have. Come on -your a restaurant, scrub the bathroom. It is obvious that they don't which makes me wonder about the kitchen. I'm not coming back to the Camarillo location until they get management that cares. Oh, and hire a waitress that can smile and have a positive attitude towards her guests. So today 13MAR17 decided to stop for breakfast at your establishment. The food was really good but am giving you a STAR because the costumer service level left a lot to desire. The manager or assisting manager, Mike, is your name, your attitude towards customers was very poorly. While I noticed that three or four times, you approached two tables in front of us and asked if everything was good and whether or not they needed something else....but you grossly failed to approach my table and asked if we needed something else or if everything was good. You as a manger should know better and set the example for your employees. I am happily to report that I will never ever eat at your establishment again. I guess my money is better spent somewhere else where I am treated with the same respect and regards as the other customers! What a total disappointment!!!!!!! read more

Let me start off by saying they have horrible service. The workers are not friendly and they don't treat customers like they should. While not giving us proper service they are fooling around talking to other co workers and one time they made a rude comment about a customer thinking nobody would understand. As of for the food, not so great. It doesn't taste very well. And their drinks have a very off taste to them. I will not be returning to this ihop location which is a shame because it's so close by. I'm very disappointed. I decided to give this place another shot. Was I wrong about coming here. Nothing has improved besides the place being remodeled. I had no complaints on the food . But .. By far it is the worst IHOP I have ever experienced customer service wise. It was not busy what so ever , and it still took someone about 15 minutes to come over and ask of we've been helped, then proceeded to look for someone to help us (sorry two paying customers were such a burden on a non busy staff). The worst part was the Hostesses literally talking so loud about their personal lives and did I mention you'd be lucky to find someone behind the cash register since they're too busy talking. My family and I have came here for the past 4 years. It seems that every time the amount of food given is a lot less and the prices stay the same or go up. We order the same thing: steak omelette. This time we were really disappointed. The omelette was not hot and was a lot smaller than the previous time. Unfortunately we won't be coming back to this I HOP. We felt that we got cheated. There's no place like the IHOP if you want good country breakfast meals. You feel fuzzy and nice when you step in.. warm and inviting like you're going to some family friend's house to eat.. Like you're at your grandma's house who lets you have whatever u want any time u want with as much sugar loaded onto it that u want!! yes its a spoiled child/adult/anyone's dream come true. I think the best part of this place is they have enough sugary and savory dishes to appeal to everyone's preference. waiters are always happy and smiley and come to check on us throughout our meal. Their pancakes are sinfully delicious but I can never leave that place without having their eggs benedict. so scrumptious. i like their hashbrowns and sausages too.. i love dipping the sausages in some maple syrup or honey. so yummayyy.. affordable prices. good food. good service. nothing more you need. I've never been there for dinner. I plan to try it out on Valentine's day. During these difficult times of finding a nice place to dine it is wonderful to see and receive a great meal at I hop in Camarillo. The service was excellent that we received from the staff. Love this specific location!!! Had a great breakfast a few days ago with my family and I cannot stop thinking about my brioche French toast!!! We went to the IHOP on Daily Camarillo last Sunday. Got a table right away (I assume the popularity of this place is below par). I have been to IHOP's many times but this one was a first for me (probably last one too). We felt like Sardines the way we were packed in. there was very little room on the table for the food dishes and we had to stack them one on top of another. The food was of IHOP quality but puzzling, I ordered french toast without butter or sugar. This, according to the waiter required an additional 15 or 20 minutes to prepare (I don't follow this reasoning, it takes more time to give you less food!?). read more

hey, where is the love for the pancake house? I go here with my BF every other week and we both like it! True, sometimes the servers forget about you for a little bit BUT the food always gets to you quick, the people are nice, and (most importantly) you can get pancakes with almost ANYTHING! The food is always cooked just the way we like it and nice and hot when it arrives. I've never had any problems with my orders and everything has always tasted great. The pancakes are the best of course :P The servers are very nice and although it does take them a little bit to get back it you it's only because THE PLACE IS ALWAYS PACKED!!! It's understandable (to people who aren't butt holes) that they might take a little longer when they have at least 10 other families to take care of! .... Pancakes!!! Didn't want to cook so took the family out and what a mistake to pick IHOP. The hostess was friendly and brought us to a booth right away. That's where the experience went south. When ordering are drinks (a coffee, coke, & Shirley temple) the person barley spoke or under stood English brought us 2 coffees and a watermelon drink that was pure discusting. All of the group ordered pancakes, eggs, & hashbrowns and my father in his 60s orders a 2 stack gets 4 giant ones the he didn't want, luckily everyone else's came out ok yet cold. How hard is it to get hot or even warm food out? Non of us ate are full meal due to this and nothing would be done to fix it either when we asked. If no stars was an option I'd mark it but I cant. Cold food, horrible customer service, nasty. If I had the option of ihop or dog food I'd take the dog food. read more
