First time trying this location. Saturday morning, ample parking, and although it was busy when we walked in, we didn't have to wait to be seated. It definitely got busier toward the end of our meal. The staff were friendly and attentive. I also always appreciate clean restrooms and a restaurant that's well-kept throughout. The bacon, sausages, and hash browns were all cooked perfectly -- sometimes bacon can be overcooked, dry, or undercooked, but not today and not here. The sausage links tasted like they may have been fried in older oil, which you could kind of tell from the coloring. My kiddo really enjoyed the blueberry pancakes, which is something she always orders whenever we go out for breakfast together. She even said this location tasted better ‍ Not sure about all the low ratings, but no complaints here from me today. Took my Mom out for brunch. The food was fine, the service was okay and the ambiance was good. Normal ihop outing but what wasn't, was the initial service. It's a Monday holiday-MLK and in my opinion, it wasn't crazy busy. I've seen it busier in a Sunday, after Church. However, it was a cluster at check in. The manager and a younger gentleman were helping check in people but the manager seemed flustered with a pick up order that wasn't ready yet and a long line. The younger gentleman was doing great, sitting people as quickly as he could but I think the manager could've done a better job at orchestrating the line. I would've had the younger guy stick to seating people while he assisted with the take out or pick up and assisted with seating in between. This is a newer location that has opened up and I think it's a nice addition as a breakfast spot in Cerritos. Food: The food is decent and portions are big. We got the Belgian waffles - they were way too crispy, you could hear the crunch as I bit into it. However, the flavor was nice. Other people in my party got omelets and they said it was good and well seasoned. I really enjoyed the hash browns. They were nice and crispy and had the perfect hint of flavor. The toast came out barely toasted, it just felt like raw bread. Ambiance: diner style family sit down restaurant. I asked for a table of 7... She looked around for tables and then just left and never came back. Then another worker told us to wait outside without giving us a wait time. We waited outside for about 10 minutes and we asked them for the wait time. They said 15 minutes. Then we had to wait for 30 more minutes. I just did not appreciate how poorly they treated us. I hadn't eaten at an ihop in years before this location opened. Once they opened, I decided to try them out. During their opening period, they were great! Food tasted and looked of good quality. Service was amazing! Waiters were so attentive and kind! It really felt like VIP service. But here we are however long since they've opened. No dish can be accommodated; waiters don't even try and ask management. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. If Beyonce or taylor swift asked for an accommodation, I'm sure it would be no problem. So treat everyone equally and with great service. This is exactly why Keith Lee has his squad order the food before he goes into the restaurant himself. He wants to see how the general population is treated. Here, the general population is told no when asking for substitutions. For example, my daughter refuses to eat eggs, so we'll ask for a fruit cup instead. It's always a no and then followed by an attitude because we ask if they'll ask management. Management sometimes will say yes, but not always. I also do not appreciate the subsequent attitude for asking. Additionally, afterward, the server rarely comes back around. We're lucky to get a refill on water because service doesn't check on us often enough. We've visited 20+ times so we've experienced the high and the decline. We've decided not to return. read more

First time here in this new branch. Service was quick we ordered the impossible plant based sausage power combo it came with scrambled egg whites fresh fruit and 2 protein pancakes and my wife ordered the T- bone steak dinner this came with your choice of sides: steamed broccoli with garlic bread or the butter milk pancakes or green beans with garlic butter , side salad or red skin potatoes the atmosphere was quite customers keep to themselves. Our orders came out quick. The steak didn't have and grilled lines and was so thin; my sausages looked like it just came out of the microwave. Everyone knows IHOP serves breakfast all day so I went to this location at Towne Center. The oblong interior impressed me by how immaculate it is. Service was very friendly and attentive, along with a little jovial conversation, throughout my meal. I ordered the 2x2x2 - 2 eggs (scrambled), 2 pieces of breakfast meat (sausage) and 2 big pancakes. I also ordered a hot chocolate. Food, just pancakes, were great!! Service is horrible!! It's 4:35 and I'm the only customer in restaurant and it took 5minutes just for someone to come over to table!! Then waitress acknowledges me says she'll be right with me... a few minutes pass... she comes back takes my drink and food order. Another 4 minutes pass I get one of the two of my drinks. Wait 5 minutes more waitress brings my main dish but not the other drink that I had been waiting for... can't eat anything without that drink... a few minutes later she comes back with it. The rating is more for your establishment and it's lack of customer service. The server was great and was pleasant but the policy of IHOP at this location leaves a lot to be desired. My husband ordered boiled eggs only to be told an hour into it that they don't take orders for hard boiled eggs because of the time it takes. Needless to say we all ate our food and my husbands breakfast was incomplete. We were told it is up to the franchisee to determine what they offer. The last time I visited an IHOP must have been about 22 years ago. That was slightly after I ate at a Waffle House in Virginia. Neither experience was good. I saw this new IHOP at the Cerritos Towne Center and it looked 1000X better than the last one I visited so, I went in. The staff was friendly and showed me a table right away. It was dinner time so I wanted to try their burger. It came quickly and it looked good. I could see the meat was not a preformed pressed frozen patty. The lettuce and tomato seemed relatively fresh and it was served with a brioche bun. First bite confirmed this was a decent burger... with real meat! The burger and its fixing was not the size of some those served at some burger restaurants and pubs I've eaten at but it was enough. So, on top of the clean setting, friendly staff and quiet ambiance, my burger was pretty good for the price. read more

This is hands-down the best IHOP, as it has plenty of outdoor seating and is in the Cerritos Towne Center, so it's on a promenade where you don't feel like you are eating outdoors facing a parking lot. And don't get me wrong, there's plenty of parking. IHOP keeps evolving their menu, so they stay relevant with items like protein pancakes and avocado toast for the millennials. LOL. But hey, it's solid, good food. Also, they have their unless pot of coffee, so I love it that they leave the insulated pot there, which saves the server time and makes it hassle free for me to warm up my coffee cup on-demand. Fries were way too salty. This is a common problem with restaurants. They should ask if we want salt. If so, how much? Light or regular But even if we had said no salt, I'm pretty sure it would have been salty because we asked for no ranch sauce in our chicken sandwiches and they brought it soaked in ranch. The server asked us if we wanted it taken back to be done right but come on. That's when you're taking a chance they might do something to your food right? It happens. It shouldn't be up to us. I went to this restaurant today, We ordered 2 meals and asked for 2 waters. Food was served but no water, after 5 minutes into the meal, I asked for waters, the waiter brought me one glass of water. I did not want to bother to ask him for a second glass, I shared the glass with my son. I do not know whether the waiter is unexperienced or something else. The restaurant was not busy at all. I hope this IHOP location stays this great forever. Opened less than a week ago in the Cerritos Towne Center; a great addition to this property. The food is tasty. The server was friendly but doesn't make up for the ants at our table that we didn't see until we grabbed the syrup dispenser and saw things moving.
