Oh no! I guess it has been too good to be true here.......until today. I was meeting four friends for the $6 breakfast that we have enjoyed here several times with excellent service. Today it took awhile to get waited on. A woman walked by our table wearing a black fuzzy jacket and carrying what looked to be a crossbody purse, yet she stopped to see if we wanted anything to drink. Oh, okay. This was our server??? She looked like a customer that was leaving. We didn't have menus yet even though we had been there about ten minutes. She brought them when we asked. Then we asked about the $6 breakfast menu which is a separate one-page menu. She said we could just "look in the back" of the menus she had brought. She disappeared again for a while then returned with our coffees, but no milk (that we had asked for). We ordered and waited awhile. Now here comes the rich part.....I see her approaching with three plates of food. You know when you carry three plates and you rest one plate against your body while you balance one on your inner arm and carry one in your hands? Well, my French Toast was all up on her fuzzy sweater getting very cozy in her underarm. GROSS. I was now being served jacket fuzz on my breakfast from a jacket that had probably not been washed all winter. It got even better when she kept referring to one of the women as "Sir," only because said woman had very short hair. It was as if she did that on purpose. First visit to the new Yorktowne IHOP which replaced the classic structure at York and Cranbrook. Honestly, I did not know what to expect. The dining room is contemporary and spacious and the menu seems to be condensed compared to the past. Regardless, my son and I decided to bypass a revered local haunt in favor of IHOP. Our server was cheerful and professional: frequently checking in to see if anything was needed and to warm up my coffee; IHOP coffee is pretty darn amazing. Omelettes were the order of the day. My son ordered the Mushroom Spinach Omelette and I ordered the IHOP special Corned Beef Omelette. These omelettes, though not over the top, are definitely somewhat elevated over local diner fare. My son's omelette came as ordered and he had a side of three pancakes. A nice option. It was large and filling as ihop adds some craveable stuff to their omelettes to fluff 'em up. My main course was packed with shredded corned beef, Swiss cheese and topped with more corned beef, shredded potatoes, and an aioli drizzle which reminded me of Big Mac sauce. Came here after church to try the new location. Liked the new menu here and couldn't wait to try the new eggs benedict. Hubby had the strawberry and banana pancakes and steak omelet. I had the Bourbon bacon jam eggs benedict with a side of grits. We both had coffee and enjoyed every ounce. A little disappointed with the kitchen and didn't make a fuss about how the eggs benedict was not cooked properly. The chefs should know an eggs benedict must be runny not over cooked. I even noticed the lady sitting across from my table, her eggs benedict was overcooked. The taste was good just wish my eggs were cooked to perfection. Hubby enjoyed his meal. On August 30th 2025 my daughter and I visited this location as we always do when our pet is having his SPA Day @ PETCO. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a young lady at the front counter and then a young man ushered us to our table without a word being said. He tossed the menus and eating utensils on the table and left. He was listening to music on his ear bud and didn't seem too interested in verbally communicating. This is not this first time we have encountered him. If he doesn't like his job and or interacting with customers, he should be dismissed. Our server (Morgan M.) was very nice and attentive. The food was good as always. I only have one complaint. I asked for some mayonnaise and got a dollop of about 1 tablespoon and was charged .99 cents for this. This seems to be a little too money hungry versus customer oriented in my opinion. Had I ordered a hamburger, would I be charged extra for mayo or pickles? We showed up at 9:15 and they close at 10p. We asked the mgr if we could still order food, all we wanted was the breakfast small special, he said yes, we close at 10p. We proceeded to sit down, he let the waitress know there were two customers & she walked out, scraggly hair, loudly telling the mgr she did not want anymore customers bc she has to be back at 8am. He said, we close at 10p. She said no, and she walked off. I said, screw this, let's go. Told the mgr we are leaving, heaven forbid she has to be back at 8am. I mean, I only just got off work myself and have been going all day since 7am. But boo hoo me. So, we walked out. Living here a year and a half and I am blown away at the quality employees there are. Today is National Pancake Day, and IHOP was offering their guests a short stack (3 pancakes) of pancakes for free. My husband and I stopped in early shortly after 8:00 AM to take them up on their offer. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately by the hostess. Our server, Karen, came right over and asked what we would like to drink - water and coffee. The coffee was piping hot and flavorful. We asked for the short stack of pancake special and an order of bacon on the side. It did not take too long for our order to arrive. The pancakes were light and fluffy. We had our choice of Strawberry, Blueberry, Butter Pecan and Old Fashioned syrup. We actually found that mixing the Butter Pecan and Old Fashioned was a delightful topping on the pancakes. The 21030 iHop restaurant franchise has been remodeled and modernized. The restaurant is clean and somewhat minimalist. The menu does not have the same variety it had historically had, though they now offer attractive new meal options while including the classic breakfast options. They do not offer the variety of jelly's and syrups that iHop was known for in the past. THEY SHOULD BRING BACK BOYSENBERRY SYRUP. The staff was attentive and the process was good from waiting area to check out. The food, especially the omelets looks as shown within the menu, picturesque. Still very happy with this IHOP. Leigh was pleasant and warm even very early in the morning, attentive, and quick with service without making us feel rushed, we were comfortable chatting in our booth. The Ihoppy Hour menu where certain dishes are only $5 or $6 starting at 2 or 3pm has stuck around for months now, which convinced me to try the crispy chicken sandwich. I liked it a lot, great seasoning on the breading and not as thick as the chicken tenders, and the IHOP sauce was very good. The choice of sides include two buttermilk pancakes, french fries, onion rings or fruit. We visited this location on Saturday morning and there was a wait, however it was not too long. Our waitress, Mary Anne (I believe was here name) was amazing. This IHOP used to be amazing, however since the move to the new location the everything has gone downhill. I went in expecting to have my usual experience that is clean, warm, and satisfying. After being seated I was given a menu riddled with stains and what appeared to be sticky coffee rings. I ordered my go- to, which is the pancake combo. My food came out and it was not what I expected nor was accustomed to. I requested scrambled egg with cheese. My eggs were in fact not scramble but instead appeared as if they were forgotten on the griddle and in feeble attempt to salvage were just chopped into chunks with cheese on top. Let me not forget to add they were burnt! Secondly, the hash browns were beyond the point of crispy, to which I assumed they were forgotten like the eggs. I decided to just deal with the hash browns and sent the eggs back. While waiting for them to be remade, the restaurant was suddenly filed with an overwhelming smell of gas! The servers and manager are loudly assuming the construction workers hit a gas line. The manager then blamed it on a furnace being turned on, only to later determine that an employee had spilled gasoline on themselves and still thought to come into work. There was no effort made to ventilate the place or to quell the concerns of patrons (with some leaving). While all of this is going on I quickly settle my check and then my piss poor replacement eggs made it to the table. This time they were barely Scrambled Eggscooked (literally looked wet in spots) with a mountain of unmelted shredded cheese on top. I boxed my food, including the eggs ( because my microwave could do a better job of cooking them) and left. I will say my server was nice but everything else about the experience was horrible. The Kim's USED to run an air tight operation that fostered an environment that was welcoming and the service/ food was always dang near, if not perfect. Quite busy so were not greeted when we walked in so stood in the entry area for several minutes. Were finally seated and given menus. We were waited on by Peggy, who is a terrific server; greeted with a smile, took our drink orders, and returned to get our meal selections. Brought our drinks; I ordered coffee. Thought I would never say this about I-Hop coffee, but it was delicious! When she took my order (breakfast sampler - what better way to have lunch at 1:00 in the afternoon) she asked me if I wanted "flavored pancakes." At least that is what registered. Shortly she brought a container of maple syrup, and then I realized she was asking about getting other flavored syrups, since they no longer put a syrup selection on the table. My wife had a burger, which was huge and she said was really good. My meal; the bacon and sausage were good, the ham was tough to the point I had to pick it up to bite it rather than cut it wirh a knife, hashbrowns were excellent, and the eggs were - -eggs. Pretty surprised at all the low ratings here. Been coming to this location for the past decade+ and the service and food quality have been great everytime! I can't speak for the dinner/'other' menu items but the classic breakfast options (breakfast platters (eggs/sausage/bacon/hashbrowns), pancakes, omelettes)) are terrific. They change up their pancake flavor offerings seasonally but they are always fluffy and they provide you 4 syrup-flavor options at the table. The owner and all the waitresses here are super friendly - always quick to refill beverages and never rush to hurry you out the door. The lines can get long on weekend mornings but always move fast (I have never waited more than 10 min to get seated). If you're looking for a good spot in Timonium to grab breakfast at around $10-15/person, this is your place! read more

Chicken Fried Steak is an overbreaded, overfired, thin piece of chewy meat with a gluey white gravy (not much flavor, think like pudding). Pot Roast Melt (sandwich) was tender enough; whole thing was like a grilled cheese with stewed meat inside, benefitted from several splashes of Cholula. Side salad was from a standard bagged iceberg mix; leaves were a little brown on all the edges, dressing was a packet of Ken's. IHOP, as a chain, could be much better, it's pretty standard food prep, they just need to up the quality a little. I don't go into these types of establishments with high expectations, but we were greeted by a cheerful waitress and seated rather quickly. The food was mediocre but the worst part was the iced coffee. On the third glass, I noticed a considerable sized bug. I brought it up to the waitress' attention and she seemed disgusted. I inquired if it was made per glass and she informed me that they make a large batch in the morning. I brought to her attention that I drank three glasses and who know how many others were sold while the big was still in the container. She brought it up the the manager who shrugged it off by saying "That always happens - the bugs are attracted to the sugar" and said he would remove it off of the bill. He did not. This location isn't the most convenient for me in terms of distance, but I choose to come here because the food is always solid and the service is great. After some traumatizing experiences at other IHOPs in the area, I'm sticking with this locale from here on out!
