We waited almost 20 minutes just to be acknowledged, even though the waitress clearly saw us (and made eye contact) and wasn't busy for at least 15 of those minutes. No smile, no greeting -- just a flat "do you know what you want." Customer service is a skill she simply does not possess. I couldn't order the BLT because it was after 10, even though I was willing to pay the higher non‑value price. That part is on IHOP as a company, not the waitress. But when I suggested ordering the items separately, she just said it wasn't possible and made zero effort to help. We ultimately left because of her attitude. No smile, no apology, no basic courtesy. I was really in the mood for an IHOP omelette atmosphere : 2/5 super clean, recently renovated but this fat guy with high blood pressure, was cold from the wicked breeze inside! I think it's a sign of the times that the only syrup on the table now is the regular syrup, I presume you have to ask for the flavors. son went with the chicken fried steak and gravy... I was not a fan whatsoever I can't tell you that there was necessarily anything wrong with it... She got everyone's order perfect and all our meals were set before us all at the same time! She had her co workers help carry our meals to us and got everyone's right! Exceptionally crowded for an IHOP, blame it on being in a tourist city during spring break, but for good reason. The food was standard, nothing outstanding from any other IHOP, but the service saved the day. The waitstaff was courteous, accommodating , and kept our glasses full. It didn't take long to place our orders, the food arrived in a timely manner, and the check showed up at the exact moment we were ready to leave. You could tell the waitress had experience and appreciated her job. That makes a world of difference! Forgot to get any pictures of the food, but the taste matched the presentation: top notch. I know I said standard, and overall it was, but the spicy poblano omelette stood out from other IHOPs like the ones in Russellville or Fort Smith. A perfect amount of peppers and chopped steak all covered in the delicious creamy poblano sauce combined with a generous serving size that felt like more than three eggs made for the ultimate breakfast omelette. I didn't even need to eat the hash browns to get full (but I did). Kids had their silver dollars and chicken and waffles, wife had her sampler platter (per the norm), but NOBODY had an complaints. Ambience was a little too much with all the bustling and each patron trying to talk over the other, but we were in and out pretty quickly with full bellies and contentment with our choice. Hot Springs, AR - The hostess and waitress were great. The acting manager for that morning was TERRIBLE! She was rude to my group and to the other employees. The staff kept apologizing for the manager and I assured them that I understood it was not their fault. The manager should NOT be in any kind of role where she deals with the public! Horrible representative for any company. Update 12/6/2021: Ihop had the manager Angie contact me about my review....the weird thing is that my friend wrote down the name of the manager on duty at our visit....AND GUESS WHAT,,,,HER NAME WAS ANGIE TOO!!! Coincidence? Doppleganger? Trying to pretend that the matter was taken care of by the same person mentioned as the rude manager in the first place? Last nights service was horrible. Started off that two large groups came in right behind the two of us. Our order was promptly taken. Yet the decided to cook all the food for the two large groups first. Once they decided to cook ours it was done correctly. Completely left smoked sausage off of one meal, and somehow manage to serve scrambled eggs instead of over medium. Sent it back, they replaced nothing, reserved same plate of food with the smoked sausage added, still had the scrambled eggs on it. Mom had to leave before our meal came because she had to go to work. I understand if there is a wait because of a rush, but that was not the case. We didn't get our meal until 10:50. The Hubs got a drink only. After our food came, the waitress checked on us after the food was nearly gone. The food wasn't great but wasn't terrible. We weren't in a hurry and didn't need anything but that's beside the point. Several wait staff were in a closed section rolling flatware. They noticed when we left by wishing us well. Best ihop ive ever been to (and i honestly dislike ihops because most of them i have been to were nasty), food was perfect and delicious, our waitress (pearla) was the best waitress ever, perfect service. I saw her look our way and check on all her tables even tho the restaurant was PACKED! Glasses always full, knew the menu when i asked questions, and shes even bilingual. bathrooms were clean and table area aswell. We will be back next time were in hot springs. My husband and i are so happy that if we are hungry at 1 or 2 am in the morning we can always count on IHOP to be there for us! Do not go! We were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. We left after 45 minutes. The management was awful! We did not personally interact; however, we saw how she treated the employees. She yelled at a kid for "not writing down the times people arrived." He wasn't in charge of taking names, another employee was not doing her job. (The same one who underestimated the wait.) My wife and child have been semi-regular patrons for around 7 years. There has been a noticeable decline over the last year. Today's breakfast included a long wait (30+minutes) to receive our meals with a server change in the middle. Food quality GOOD as usual. My potatoes took an extra 5 minutes. The waiter was MUTE and avoided any eye contact or basic service courtesy whatsoever. Since this community is so limited in great breakfast options, this place seemingly has success b/c of it's location and name brand recognition despite its numerous shortcomings as described by many others. But the 1-star rating is for the super rude manager who came to our table AFTER the waitress had handled the poor food issue. Extremely dirty. Right away knew that we would have issues when we saw 6+ print out papers taped to the door. The print outs were saying things like "due to cold and flu season bear with our short staff", and "banks are closed on holidays, we won't need accept more than $50 in cash". They were posted everywhere, as if six rude pieces of paper were going to make up for their short comings We were our waitresses after-thought table. The floors were filthy and all the cups/plates were either soaking wet straight from the washer (not even kind of dried) or looked dirty. The hot chocolate I had was greasy and my pancakes were cold. Surprisingly, our cakes arrived warm, and our sausage and bacon was cooked exactly the way we asked. We waited a moderate amount of time to be seated, which was expected. However, it took an extremely long time to be served. We have been to this location many times...always in the morning. I have been going to this IHOP 3 times a week for going on three years and I have never had any issues apart from occasionally having to send my eggs back because they were not Cookedcooked to my liking. But Each time the problem was resoled by the manager. I have grown t know the manager and she is a good person. There are a lot of negative reviews concerning a particular issue most of which are by persons not even there.
