Service was good. Brunch burger was good. Side salad is disappointingly bland and uninspired.

    Well, yeah. This is it.

Exceptionally crowded for an IHOP, blame it on being in a tourist city during spring break, but for good reason. The food was standard, nothing outstanding from any other IHOP, but the service saved the day. The waitstaff was courteous, accommodating , and kept our glasses full. It didn't take long to place our orders, the food arrived in a timely manner, and the check showed up at the exact moment we were ready to leave. You could tell the waitress had experience and appreciated her job. That makes a world of difference! Forgot to get any pictures of the food, but the taste matched the presentation: top notch. I know I said standard, and overall it was, but the spicy poblano omelette stood out from other IHOPs like the ones in Russellville or Fort Smith. A perfect amount of peppers and chopped steak all covered in the delicious creamy poblano sauce combined with a generous serving size that felt like more than three eggs made for the ultimate breakfast omelette. I didn't even need to eat the hash browns to get full (but I did). Kids had their silver dollars and chicken and waffles, wife had her sampler platter (per the norm), but NOBODY had an complaints. Ambience was a little too much with all the bustling and each patron trying to talk over the other, but we were in and out pretty quickly with full bellies and contentment with our choice. Not the first time we've stopped at this particular IHOP and won't be the last.

Hot Springs, AR - The hostess and waitress were great. The acting manager for that morning was TERRIBLE! She was rude to my group and to the other employees. The staff kept apologizing for the manager and I assured them that I understood it was not their fault. The manager should NOT be in any kind of role where she deals with the public! Horrible representative for any company. Update 12/6/2021: Ihop had the manager Angie contact me about my review....the weird thing is that my friend wrote down the name of the manager on duty at our visit....AND GUESS WHAT,,,,HER NAME WAS ANGIE TOO!!! Coincidence? Doppleganger? Trying to pretend that the matter was taken care of by the same person mentioned as the rude manager in the first place? Not sure about all of this, but I have added a copy of my original receipt with names on it. I do not want a free meal or coupons. I want an apology to myself, my guests, the employees and maybe even some extra training for the manager. Obviously this review was considered a joke by IHOP. I will be contacting IHOP in other ways, so maybe I can be taken seriously.

Lastly, I get back to my room and i loss my appetite when I saw hair on my sirloin dish. Over it!

Omg, Rude curbside services. Asked the lady for sauce since the person on the phone hung up quickly Before I could ask for it. She said she would bring it and never brought it back.

I'm not sure how long we sat before we were noticed. Finally our waitress came over to tend to us. She was rather unkempt and sweaty. We ordered a pancake meal for the kid and a short stack for me. The Hubs got a drink only. After our food came, the waitress checked on us after the food was nearly gone. The food wasn't great but wasn't terrible. We weren't in a hurry and didn't need anything but that's beside the point. Several wait staff were in a closed section rolling flatware. They noticed when we left by wishing us well. It would have been better if we were noticed while dining. At least when our waitress did tend to us she tried to be pleasant.

Me and my family were looking for a place that was open and IHOP was the only twenty four hour place in our area. So being my family we decided to check it out. But to our surprise it was definitely not worth the wait. There was a spider on the wall the food was not worth the money the only thing that was decent was the waiter he was the type that should be working at chick- fa - la. Not IHOP! And to top it all off an employee quit while we were in there!

Decent food and pretty fair prices. Don't ask about ordering anything ala-cart b/c it'll cost just as much as if you'd gotten the combo.

We always strike-up an interesting conversation with people sitting at the bar. Several local beers on tap and we had the Space Force, an IPA, on both visits....very good. We split a Reuben sandwich with fries and it was excellent. I also ordered a side of fried okra, which was delicious and so hot, I had to let it cool before eating. The bartenders are always friendly and will talk if time allows. The whole place has a great vibe. Speaking of the okra, I noticed that on my bill I was charged $13 and change for it. I thought WOW, but gladly paid the bill. The more I thought about it, I figgered it must be an error. On our second trip, I mentioned it to the bartender and asked if it were possibly an error. It was an error and she asked me how to make it right (there was a logical explanation for the error). I made it clear that I was not complaining, just wanting clarification. She asked if a complimentary order of fried okra was OK....certainly! Great place and a Hot Springs icon. Highly recommend and dont skip it.

The ambience is just so elegant and romantic. The menu lights up as you open it and everything on it sounded delicious. The servers, Peter and Emily, were so fun and helpful! They brought out these heavenly yeast rolls basted in truffle butter...what??? I got the market fish special which was grouper, and my husband got the grilled pork chop. Come with an empty stomach if you get the pork chop. It is a very generous portion and is delicious! The grouper was perfection...crispy on the outside, light and flakey inside, sitting atop beautiful spring vegetables and a lovely light beurre blanc sauce. It was topped with edible flowers and micro greens. I regret that I did not take a photo (we were so hungry), but it was just divine. The chef came over to ask what we thought and we told him everything was amazing. The staff were absolutely lovely. We can't say enough good things. This is what a restaurant experience on vacation should be like. What a gem! Hopefully next time we visit we can try the dessert menu! We happened to stumble upon this gem randomly during our trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas not expecting much but wow were we absolutely blown away. First, you walk into a dimly lit, intimate dining area and seated at a table with very comfy chairs and menus that light up for visibility. Next, your waiter is SO knowledgeable about every item on the menu. I had history lessons about the rice production in the area while learning about which dishes to choose. While waiting for your food, you are served an edgy orange-glazed dinner roll that is simultaneously intriguing and comfortingly familiar. A delicious twist on a classic. The head chef also came around serving an amuse-bouche of another experimental apple dish which was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. Food comes- oh my goodness I cannot explain how amazing the Chislic beef tips were. Every component of this dish was just so thoughtfully crafted and well-blended. Each bite was bursting with flavor and energy. My partner also loved the potato soup. Our mains were equally impressive- my fennel rice in particular knocked my socks off. I have never tasted rice so decadent and aromatic in my life. The salmon was of course great but certainly not the star of the show. Finally, the bread pudding at the end was the cherry on top of the culinary bliss we had just experienced. I would drive 10 hours back to Hot Springs just for this restaurant. So sad it has to be so far. Do not miss your opportunity to come here if you happen to be in town!!

Cafe 1217 - A Fresh Break from the Road Trip Diet…read more What a relief to stumble into Cafe 1217 after days of heading southwest on a steady rotation of BBQ, grits, and beans. Delicious, yes... but the body eventually starts asking for a vegetable and a reset. The space itself matches that feeling. Simply decorated, with bright murals, clean lines, and a cheerful, easygoing vibe that feels light the moment you walk in. My husband gave me full ordering authority, which is always a bold move. I went straight into tapas mode because everything on the menu looked too good to choose just one. We ended up with a spread: chicken pot pie (which quickly abandoned any "small plate" intentions), field greens and baby spinach, a shrimp and crawfish cake, and one of each of Rosy's authentic hand-rolled tamales. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying without that heavy, road-trip food fatigue. The mint lemonade was refreshing and delicious, a little on the sweet side, but it worked. Service, while perfectly fine, could benefit from a warmer welcome and a bit more guidance, especially for first-timers trying to navigate such an inviting menu. A little extra friendliness up front would go a long way here. Our only real regret? Not saving room for dessert. They looked very tempting, and we'll be thinking about that missed opportunity. If you're on the road and craving something lighter without sacrificing flavor, this spot is a welcome pause.
