And somehow, even after a 4-hour drive, it still tastes just as amazing! It's one of the best options if you're trying to stay lower carb (okay... lower-ish carbs), no sugar, and especially if you deal with hypoglycemia. This dish just gets it. Now about the building--if you've been around for a while, you probably remember when it was Heidi Haus on Court Street. I went in there many times, and it was such a sweet, charming place. Honestly, it feels like the perfect spot for Magill's now. The character of the building really adds to the whole experience. The only thing I'd love to see improved is the service. The ladies who work there clearly have a lot of experience, but sometimes the interaction can feel a bit routine or lacking warmth. A little more friendliness and engagement would really take the experience to the next level and match how great the food is. And I mean... my poor mom ordered an orange juice and it showed up not even cold. That's one of those small details that really shouldn't be missed. We sat at the bar to escape it, and somehow, of course, they ended up right behind us again. At that point, even the staff were giving each other that look like, "yeah ... we smell it too." Our server stepped in like a hero and quietly moved us to a corner booth, no fuss, no awkwardness, just excellent problem-solving so we could actually enjoy our meal. And that right there is part of why I've always loved this place. The service and food are consistently great, and they handle things with a kind of care you don't see everywhere. Ambiance The ambiance is definitely a unique one and one that I don't see very often. It does have its own charm. It is a smaller establishment with lots of tables, so one may find it a bit cramped on the inside. Other Notes With this restaurant, you do get a bill that you have to pay at the front (like Denny's) and their restroom is a bit weirdly located. I went to view the African American experience with the Hanford work site and beyond. In the 40s through the 60s east Pasco became a vibrant town filled with homes and businesses in spite of the racism that redlined housing and business opportunities for people of color. I found the exhibit enlightening and engaging. I loved the small collection of photos, especially the one of the baseball players. I'm looking forward to seeing the map recreation that will pinpoint the locations of houses and businesses during this time and before leveling of them in the name of "urban revitalization". I am 80 years old and the more I know about our history the more I have come to understand that we have never been a kind and generous culture to most people. We can be shortly after a tragedy strikes but then our fears of "other" takes hold of us and we regress: Sadly so. I will return to this lovely, warm and welcoming place.
