This IHOP has changed the landscape of Phillipsburg and is by far an easy access especially when I travel on I-78 for work. The quality of food is outstanding and the service is beyond words. Only drawback is that I wish this was 24 hours. Good social distancing practices but after waiting for 15 mins for a table we were seated. The place was not busy at 2:15 on this Sunday. We waited for 20 minutes and no server ever even approached to offer water of coffee let alone take our order. So we left. Guess they really don't need/want business. read more

Yesterday Mar 2021 was our first time patronizing the IHOP #3654 in Phillipsburg NJ...and the last. If I could give it ZERO STARS I would. From the receptionist gentleman who was rude and unattentive, to some of the wait staff that just didn't care, this place was horrible. Once seated it took 20 minutes before I had to ask a waitress to help us. Abigail (5 STARS) wasn't even assigned to our area but cheerfully took care of us anyway. We watched a few patrons seated after us, not only get their food, but able to eat their meals before we even got to order ours. It took 40 minutes to get our food AFTER we ordered. Clearly the management is to blame...just a total lack of customer care all the way around. Lastly...the food was marginal at best. Like I said, we won't go back. read more

Had breakfast there today. Our server was very friendly. We enjoyed our breakfast. Good with COVID guidelines with putting all condiments in packets. Things we didn't like were the tiny side plates they put the pancakes in. It's a little silly. And the busboy was working with his pants falling below his buttocks and showing his underwear was not very professional. read more

Friday night was slow had 10 crews chatting in front desk while we waited 20 min to get served no one came and we saw other tables waiting for their food so long. Help-this place needs a new manager! This is the new IHOP that is so disorganized. They have a gigantic waiting area that should be used for seating. They also should be using a microphone to call peoples names like the other IHOP's. The wait was so long to get a seat and then the wait was so long to get a waitress and then the wait was so long to get the food and then the wait was so long to get the bill. Breakfast-OMG I have been ordering the sweet cream cheese crepes for over 10 years-They are supposed to be 2-at least 3 inches wide crepes filled with delicious sweet cream cheese and topped with fruit-when the order came out-I was in shock and couldn't comprehend what I was seeing 2 sharpie sized rolls with a tiny bit of cream cheese inside on a huge plate. I just stared at it and could not speak-once I came about I called the manager over and showed her what they're supposed to look like on the menu and what I got and she said I'll have them remade but she went to take my plate and thank goodness I said no I'm eating these for now because by the time my remade came out, my husband was finished eating his breakfast-so I had to take it to go. This place has to get itself in order and make everything the way it looks on the menu! I will not be going back until they get their act together! AND Even though this place has been renovated the place is not clean there was tape on the windows and the floor drain in the bathroom is disgusting. Why is no one cleaning the floor!? read more

I got there before 8:30 ( only me not that it matters the number), a family of 4 was seated right next to me about 3 minutes later, got their entire order taken and yet I wasn't even greeted by a waitress. The neon "open" sign was on, and the website said they were open until 10, but I was given a curt "we're closed" when I walked through the door. It was 8:30. There was a special today, but I saw no signage that the hours were changed. Maybe they didn't like the look of me? Older solo diners aren't the most sought after customers, I guess, but they won't have to worry about that because I will certainly never return. If I could give this place less I would! I've been on three occasions to be sure it wasn't just a fluke. When they first opened it was very good.....good food good service. The second time we went, the service was terrible and the food was OK. Last night, everything was terrible. We were literally the only table except for two young girls drinking coffee. We waited for almost thirty minutes for food and then when our friends daughter looked at her burger, it appeared they had re-cycled a burger as it appeared to have a bite out of the side of the patty that had been neatly hidden with some melted cheese and and over sized bun. Sent it back and asked for new one. My order was to have pancakes and they never came......ITS FREAKIN IHOP HOW TO DO MESS UP PANCAKES????? This morning my 9 year old asked me to make a pact that we never go back to Phillipsburg IHOP.....I willingly agreed....avoid this place at all cost!!! read more

Very disappointed in this location. Both orders were not good-strawberry crepes so rubbery that you needed a knife to cut them. Florentine crepes were very salty, greasy & rubbery. Have always ordered them at other NJ IHOPs, but these were awful. Server was very nice - won't be returning. read more

I've been to this location a hand full of times. One thing remains consistent, service is terrible. You will be seated and wait 15minutes for someone to walk over to you and offer to bring you a drink. My most recent experience our waiter visited our table a total of 3 times. Once to order the food, bring the food and then to give me the check. I was never asked if I needed a refill on drinks or coffee. (I was with two small kids) Never asked if everything was ok. Never came to clear off plates that were empty. Just couldn't really careless. It is disgusting to go out to eat because you don't really feel like cooking and cleaning up after everyone only to have to pay $60 for some eggs and pancakes WITH garbage service. I blame management. They aren't properly training their servers or they are hiring people who are not qualified. It takes certain personalities and someone with a bit of common sense to be a waiter/waitress! They lost me as a customer for good. Yes I did complain to the manager who I honestly doubt will implement any changes. Good luck if you choose to visit here. Also, bathrooms dirty. read more

This is our first visit to this newly opened ihop. Lots of staff to greet us upon arriving. We were seated quickly. However we have been waiting for 15 minutes for a server to greet us. Got to the point where we had to ask for a server and still are waiting. Finally we have a server and she blamed the other staff for not letting her know she had a table. While waiting for our order I have a chance to look around. The restaurant has been fully renovated so it is nice. There are a number of staff on duty and the place is not very busy. Someone should be walking around with a broom and dustpan to at least clean up the debris on the floor. The silverware was not very clean. Just watched a couple seated near us leave without paying their bill. Bus boy clean the table off and left the silverware for the next guest. The food has arrived and looks wonderful I have the strawberry and banana French toast and my guest got the 2x2x2. No banana. Said something to the server and she said it was my fault even though it says it on the receipt. Leaving feeling aggravated. I did not like the experience. I know they just opened so I will give them another chance down the road. The food was good. Came back for a second try and it was a completely different experience. Jeremiah was our server and was excellent. He is one of the best servers I've ever had. The food came quickly and was hot and delicious. Will definitely come back and ask for Jeremiah to be our server. read more

I've been to some pretty awesome IHOP's and I know this one just opened, but seriously.... please get it together. Coffee should be fresh but it wasn't. Our food came out luke warm, pancakes and French toast weren't even warm enough to melt the butter. One combo didn't get the French toast that was asked for instead of the pancakes. Extra eggs never came out until we said something. The one order of pancakes that a party member was only eating was cold and the server said they'd make a new one right away. That never came out so we had to wait for them to make it to go. The server was nice but seemed a bit flustered as did the rest of the staff. I witnessed somebody a few tables over get their food and it wasn't supposed to have bacon on it... they took the plate back and brought it right back out without the bacon. I have lots of experience in food handling and normally you would have to make a whole new plate. Not just take the bacon off. Probably won't be back to this establishment. I was very upset with the service I received yesterday first we had a server take our drink and order then another server came over and in front of us said this is my table and argued in front of us over the table. Next the new server came over and said he was the server now and we see the girl crying and leaving this was extremely unprofessional we got our food before we ever got the soup. we ate and was almost done still no soup so we ended up taking soup to go. Took 10 mins to bring refill of our drinks, asked for whip cream and never got it, and also we gave the server payment and it took along time to get our change which someone else brought our change not the server who never said thank you or goodbye to us. The server also tapped the ketchup bottle on our table as he talked to us which was rude no reason to bang the table with the bottle. I GWT that your a new establishment and I except so things to not go smoothly but this was uncalled for you dont argue over whos table it is in front of the guest he should of talked to her in private to tell her she made a mistake. read more

This is, without a doubt, the worst IHOP I've ever been to. The wait was quoted at 20-25 minutes, we waited all of that and maybe a bit longer. Sat, ordered drinks fairly quickly and placed breakfast order then it was all downhill from there. Our waitress disappeared, only to overhear her later say she took several tables on the other side of the restaurant. Took an hour to get our eggs then no toast. Had to flag someone down to go get the toast. Was told I got a side of hash browns or pancakes with my omelette - asked if I could get home fries instead of hash browns - the was charged $3.99 for them and had a $32 bill for two people eating breakfast. Service was awful and the food was luke warm. Not even one apology by waitress or management. For a newly renovated place, it was filthy and gross. Servers need to use trays as I witness 3 different food runners using their skin and clothing to keep bacon and pancakes o. The plates. Definitely NOT worth the wait - go down the street to the Key Diner or drive to the Clinton Cracker Barrel but steer clear of this place. Waaaaay overpriced, cold food and crappy service. 2 hours in any IHOP is too long!!! read more
