I visited IHOP in San Leandro and it was the first time in many years. I thought the dining area was good a good size with lots of elbow room to enjoy your meal. The only knock and I don't necessarily blame IHOP because they have little control of the surrounding area but a lot of undesirables from the area come inside the restaurant to beg and bother the customers while eating which can be an unpleasant situation. But the staff are great and provide friendly and efficient customer service. I really liked my waitress, Glendy, she was awesome. The food: Overall I thought the food was passable. It's not great but a solid C+. The Bacon Avocado Burger was a little dry and the bun they use was not very good. The omelette and hash brown were solid. The pancakes were ok. While nothing was terrible, nothing was great. Would I eat here again? Maybe. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come again. read more

The pancakes were cold, the eggs over easy were not fully cooked the way they should be, and the bacon was boring at best. My husband ordered the ham and cheese omelet with two pancakes, with a side of hash browns and he was much happier with his meal, so at least that worked out. A cup of coffee is $4.79 and it is a never-ending pot, so that part is a decent value. Parking is ample, but the service was less than adequate. We went on a Friday mid-morning around 10:30. It was relatively crowded, but the service still felt slow and lackluster. All in all, the food matched the price. Yum! Chicken fajita omelet. Wife got the blueberry pancakes.... Mid morning, just a few people in the restaurant. Was seated fast and orders taken quickly and friendly. Lots of blueberries in the pancakes. Omelet was tasty and I doused it with Tabasco for more heat. Great atmosphere, our waitress refilled the coffee thermos and brought more flavored creamers. I came here in the morning around 10am and there weren't a lot of people inside. It didn't even look like the place was half full. I was seated right away and was I told I could sit anywhere I wanted. My order was quick to come out. I got the ham & cheese omelette from their value menu. The eggs were nicely cooked and the little ham pieces were tender. The cheese sauce and melted cheese were so good and made the omelette taste creamy. It also came with 2 buttermilk pancakes which were really fluffy. Service was better than I expected. I'm not sure if it was because I came during their slower morning hours. They did have like 4 or 5 servers on the floor helping guests. I didn't get my servers name but he was very nice and friendly. He made multiple rounds to make sure I had water and if I needed anything else. The inside of the restaurant was clean. I thought the men's restroom was clean too. I love the location of this iHop. There isn't much parking because the lot is shared with other businesses. This location also closes at 8pm, which is early compared to other locations. Unfortunately this ihop is inconsistent. In the beginning it was spot on. Now they mess up orders and burn food. Some days the food comes out beautifully. Other days it's plated in a hurried fashion. Some days it's an extra long wait time for your food. Other days it's average. read more

I try and try over and over but today was just a challenge. The restaurant is clean and neat, the servers are helpful and attentive with the food being sufficient but if you are thirsty be prepared to request refills. The restaurant's practice is ice, ice and ice. Out of four glasses of soda, I may have gotten 8 oz of soda the rest was ice. I understand stretching product for a higher yield but wow!!! I will continue eating there, as I enjoy their food, but I plan to get as many free refills as needed to quench my thirst. read more

The eggs were cooked as ordered. We didn't care for the taste of the pork sausage but I think it was just our taste buds. Service: Jesus our server was very helpful, patient, and professional! This place gets super busy. Came here about 9:30 and it was packed with about 10 people waiting for seating and 10 waiting for pickup orders. It's nice inside, fairly new, but not very big. There's only about 6 seats in the waiting area, so everyone was on top of each other in the waiting area. I placed an online order and thought it would be quick, as the app gave an estimated time the order would be ready in about 20 mins. I arrived on time and waited 35 more minutes to get my pickup order, despite using the app and sending the "I'm on my way" and "I'm here" updates. So it took them over 55 minutes to prepare my small pickup order, which is ridiculous. They definitely prioritize the dine-in people, as I saw some seated and leave while I was waiting. I don't recommend coming here for any pickup orders. They need to fix their online system so it at least shows accurate time. Be prepared to wait a very long time for seating, and even longer for pickup if it's around breakfast time. I definitely won't be coming back. The quality of food has gone down, but prices have gone up. It was bland, flavorless, and overly sweet. All the food was cold except for one dish. We ordered a the lemon ricotta blueberry French toast and the tres leches pancakes. They both came plain with condiment container toppings (but no syrup) on the side, and they were leaking all over. The French toast had no flavor, just sweet, and came with about 10 blueberries. I guess the small lemon wedge was why they could call it lemon. The pancakes were ok, but again just tasted like sugar. My husband had an Omelette, nothing memorable. The prices were pretty ridiculous, like $5.79 for a 3" square of hash browns. For the prices we paid, I would have much rather gone to a nicer, non-chain breakfast spot and the food would have been a lot better. read more

We decided to take our granddaughter to ihop for breakfast. We got there close to 7 when they opened. There was only one other guest. The hostess was polite. Our order was taken quickly. We got our beverages right away but it took about 20 minutes to get our food. Our granddaughter got the cupcake pancake, 2 strips of bacon and eggs. She enjoyed the bacon but the pancake was too sweet for her and the eggs were cold. My husband got a stack of 3 pancakes and a side of sausage. The pancakes were good but could have had more butter. The sausage was cold. I had the lemon curd and blueberry French toast. I enjoyed it but it did need syrup. Our breakfast totaled $55. read more

My Bestie and I had planned to go to Harry's Hofbrau for Thanksgiving dinner. The line was LITTERALLY around the corner with people waiting to get in. After taking a trip back to Oakland and back to Harry's, only to see that the line was still very long, we "ended up" at I HOP. I have to say that it was the best thing that could have happened to us! The restaurant was clean and the service was great! We didn't have the Thanksgiving dinner we planned; but ordered breakfast. It was delicious! The portion was very satisfying, and our server, SHANE, was delightful and professional! The manager on duty, whose name I don't remember, was also very kind and professional. Came here on a Wednesday evening. Three customers including us. The waiter was polite and attentive so I have no complaints with the service. I was disappointed in my dish. Everyone else was happy so that's is a plus. I ordered eggs benedict and specifically mentioned runny eggs please. Anyone who enjoys a good eggs benedict knows runny eggs is key. With how this review is going... how do you think my eggs were cooked? Both yolks were well done. My wife told me to return it to the kitchen but I'm always scared the returned dish will come with extra topping if you get my drift. If it was a choice between Denny's and here. Came here on a Monday around 7:30am. It was clean, quiet and pretty empty. Gaby seated us right away and was really friendly. We got coffee immediately lol and ordered the Colorado Omelette & one of the breakfast combos ( 2 eggs, 2 bacons, hash brown & pancakes). Food came out fast and everything tasted as it should be- in a good way. Like how Burger King's onion ring has a specific taste, IHOP's pancake is a specific way and it was exactly as should be.
