    Raw bacon

I had not been into an IHOP in years. I saw an ad for a $7.00 breakfast value menu special. You can find the 4 specials at the bottom of the menu page on their website. On the physical menu you will find the specials buried in the dinner section and not on the breakfast pages. Most visitors would never know the value menu existed. I went in and ordered the ham and cheese omelet. Cheesy, rich and very filling. I was going to leave a 5 star review for that visit. However... ...I went back a couple of weeks later and ordered the House Scramble with bacon. My original vision was to smother it with breakfast gravy. To me breakfast gravy is thick and has sausage in it. When the food arrived the gravy was thin and was in no way a typical breakfast gravy. It was more like a dinner gravy you would expect on mashed potatoes. It sucked and the flavor was horrible. I had already poured it over my eggs and the hash browns. It ruined the breakfast. I asked the server about the gravy and it was explained to me they only serve vegan gravy. LOL. Secondly, the bacon was half raw, mostly with the fat on the ends. Raw bacon is a crime and you can get very sick from it. This second visit was a 1 star, if that experience.

A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.

If you like smash burgers, then, this is the place for you!…read moreFriendly service. Really enjoyed visiting with them. Ordered the Oklahoma. Not just greasy, extremely greasy, if you like that. Tasty, but, over-the-top on the greasiness. And, I now know smash burgers aren't my thing. For the price, seems like a few fries or tots should come with it. For the burger & basket of tots (which was a generous amount), was over $21 without drinks. We had water. Only two bad things: 1) I walk with a cane & it slipped on the greasy floor by the cash register where you order. Maybe throw another rug down there? 2) There was no hand soap in the bathroom. One of the staff said they hadn't gotten their supply order in & they were out. a) What are you using to wash your hands in the kitchen? Dish soap maybe? Hopefully, something other than the hand sanitizer that was being offered to customers. b) THERE'S LITERALLY A YOKE'S ACROSS THE PARKING LOT!!!! Finally, it was very busy (glad to see that!), especially on the patio. I love supporting local businesses, but, this just isn't for me.

Every single table was dirty and trash all around on the ground. We had to go in and ask the gal for a wet rag to wipe our own table off, and she was not concerned about the mess at all. She didn't offer to come wipe it off and was pretty flat overall with her hospitality. Arrived at 6:30 for dinner and the place was empty with two kids behind the counter... probably will never go back. Food was mediocre at best.
