So this is day one of phase 2 and I went with my son to the IHOP on North Division. Pretty much everyone knows about the bill of fare so I won't dwell on: they always have fluffy pancakes and do a decent job with eggs and omelettes. But they are dealing with all of the requirements of social distancing while providing table service. And I have to say I am impressed with the efforts they have made but I'm more impressed with the good nature of all the staff. Learning a whole new routine for serving meals is a challenge. The staff was up to the task. In spite of the disruption in routine, there were smiles and friendly greetings and attention to all our needs. Because I am one of those people who fits in the at risk category I wore my mask in to the restaurant while I was in the waiting area and again as I left the restaurant going past people who were waiting. Amazing experience, service, and food. The wait may not have been too fun, but it was OK. I ordered Chicken Florentine Crepes and they were amazing. They consisted of Chicken breast strips sauteed with fresh spinach, mushrooms and onions in light seasonings. Rolled inside two delicious crepes with Swiss Cheese and topped with rich hollandaise. Wow, I visit this location a lot and today we (my kids and I) had the worst service ever. 1. The hottest rolled her eyes when we said we wanted a booth. We were forced into a table. Because the server couldn't have anyone else in their section. 2. The girls bathroom had poop on the toilet seat. GROSS! The garbage and floor was full of garbage. 3. Some of the employees were eating and then serving customers. No gloves or eating of hands were happening in between eating and serving. Terrible service today. Sad! read more

I went to this IHOP today at about 10:30 am. The food was quite good, and very plentiful. But what I want to comment on is the fantastic waitress we had. I believe her name was Jensyn. While my friend and I were eating, an older man got in the waitresses face about something, and this during COVID-19. The waitress maintained professional poise, and I think the man was surprised at this, and her poise certainly de-escalated the situation. I did mention this to the manager, but I do want to commend this waitress, and the management for her excellent training. read more

Our waitress was kind and working hard. The issue was the manager and other staff. very rude and degrading to workers and the manager spoke poorly to every worker. The kitchen freaked out on our waitress because she asked for tartar and they didn't make any resulting in the manager ALSO yelling at her for asking. Then she brings us some form of Mayo mixed with chunks of pickles. I was planning on going to Burger King next to this place. The Burgerking lobby was closed so I got in line in the drive through and was waiting. I was trying to be courteous and not block traffic so I kept a opening for through traffic. I guess another patron thought this was their opportunity to cut in-line and they did. I could tell that the line cutter must have been starving so i begrudgingly let him in. At this time I decided to give Fatburger a try instead. I am happy that I did. The food was a better quality and was made quickly. In the future I'll skip burger King and go straight to Fatburger. read more

Food was great but service was terrible. Our server (with no name tag) came to our table multiple times to make sure our order was correct instead of writing it down. Food came out relatively quick and was good. But I waited at least 20 minutes for a glass of water and eventually had to ask another server for some. They only get 2 stars because everyone was so nice but what happened to IHOP the food is just terrible. Burnt toast. Too done on the hashbrowns it just wasn't good at all. From the second we opened the door, we were greeted by the host with a genuine smile, then we were welcomed by, what appeared to be, the manager. Within one minute we were greeted by our waitress and sat down. All this set the tone for what ended up being a great experience. Until now, I usually grit my teeth when my wife asks to go there. Now, I'm a fan. This is far better than either of the Valley IHOP locations. Casey was our server, and though she was very busy, she was prompt, courteous, and friendly. She got our order perfect, which was quickly on our table, spending no time in between the grill and our place setting. AWESOME!!! After first checking in on us, I lifted my Chicken Fried Steak to show Casey my disappointment of my hashbrown portion, but before I could say anything, she said she'll fix it, and seconds later was a more fair portion. Our experience was perfect and the restaurant and kitchen appeared very clean, let alone the fact that they were quite busy. We came here after our favorite breakfast place was closed for repairs and I'm so glad we did. Jessika was the nicest waitress, made us feel super welcome and didn't mind that she had to come back three times before we could give our order since there was so much on the menu. I had an Ultimate Bacon Omelet which was wonderful! My husband hand ligenberry pancakes with eggs and bacon which were cooked to perfection! Our daughter had pancakes with fruit topping, eggs and bacon. She special ordered the eggs and they nailed it! The restaurant was clean and small and our experience was fantastic! For this review, I'm not necessarily faulting the wait staff, but the scheduling. I called in at 5:45pm on a Wednesday desiring to place a To-Go order. The server answering the phone said that she'd need to put me on hold for 5 minutes before she could get to my order. She explained it nicely; there was quite a bit going on at the moment & all happening at once. I said I'd just place the order when I arrived, seeing as how I live only 5 minutes away. Upon arriving, I notice that there were only two servers in a restaurant with at least 8 full tables of hungry customers. I waited at the hostess station for an additional 6+ minutes before things calmed down enough to take my order. Luckily, I already knew what I wanted! The server (who I originally spoke to over the phone) was very courteous & apologetic regarding the delay. She even helped me save a couple bucks on the order. So if I was reviewing solely the wait staff, I'd go higher. However, as an overall rating for the restaurant itself, I cannot go higher than a single star. We eat here fairly often as they serve my sons' all time favorite pancakes, the blueberry stack and the cinnasation stack, both are basically sugar on sugar on sugar but they love them so we come :) the kids obviously love their sugar mountains while the adults usually eat the typical diner fare. From my pov the food is not good and not bad just typical, the same you'd get at Dennys or Sharis. My biggest problem with this restaurant is how small it is and how tightly they have packed the tables in there, if would be so much better if they reduced the amount of tables so that their patrons were not practically sitting on each others laps while they dined. The noise level makes it nearly impossible to hold a conversation so we don't usually hang around long, get the pancakes, get them in the kids and get out lol. read more

We had a TERRIBLE time here. We waited forever for our food, and when it finally arrived it was cold and disgusting. The cutlery, mugs and plates were dirty and grimy, and our waitress (a young blonde girl named Kambria) never checked on us once to ask if we needed anything. The restaurant was practically empty but we watched her saunter slowly past our food waiting under the heat lamps at least 4 times. She had a bored, haughty "I can't be bothered, I'm too good to work at IHOP" sort of attitude. We had been (struggling) to force down our lukewarm, coagulated food for only about 5 minutes when she walked over and threw our receipt down, as if she wanted us out of the diner. That was the only time she came over to our table. My boyfriend wanted a napkin and patiently waited for her to come over until he couldn't take it anymore and took the napkins off another table. He also asked her if they had a menu item he'd eaten a lot in the past, and she responded with a short, curt "No." and walked away. (Also the coffee was the worst, weakest coffee i'd ever had the displeasure of tasting, even at a generic fast food chain diner such as this. I've had black teas stronger than this brown water they were trying to pass off as coffee.) Went to Ihop for lunch, paid our bill with a prepaid gift card. When we looked at our receipt it stated that only $19 was left on a $50.00 card. We had two small meals. When we told the manager, the over weight one, that our bill and the balance on the card were not right he stated he would look into it. He called the waitress over to where he was and they talked and laughed. Then the manager came and asked if it was a tip! We stated that the tip wasn't put in yet. The money didn't add up. The manager was not helpful, but rather rude. We have gone to Ihop for years and I was shocked. The waitress never came back to our table. She stood and kept looking over then laughing. My Dad and I were in the mood for breakfast at about 9pm (hey, when you want pancakes, get some pancakes!). So we decided to stop by IHOP. While the decor of the place was admittedly outdated, the place was clean and our server (James) was friendly, fast, and attentive. He happily accommodated my request for extra whip cream on my coco and pancakes, my Dad's coffee pot never went empty, and the food was delicious and piping hot when it came to our table. So if you're ever in the mood for late night pancakes (I recommend the Cinna-a-Stack) don't pass this place by, and say HI to James, he's one hell of a server. read more

Went here two days in a row. First I'll say that the food both times was awesome. With that said the first day our server was joe. Absolutely one of the best waitstaff I've come across and I'm a chef. Kudos to hiring him, don't let that one go. This IHOP location was nice, it was clean and the staff were friendly. Our server, Corbin, was also really nice. He did a good job making sure we were happy and had everything we needed. The food was good, and the helpings were a little bigger than I expected. One thing that was interesting was that OJ refills were 3.29, which is expensive. Corbin told me that though instead of just bringing me another one and charging me which I appreciated. Overall it is decent restaurant with it's perks being the staff who all seemed to enjoy being there. Even the cooks could be heard having a good time. Food was decent and pricing was iffy.
