I was really craving their hash browns and pancakes. We waited patiently for our order to be taken. We put in our drink order and our drinks were at our table pretty soon after. The food took a while to come out and I'm a pretty patient person. The place seemed like it was really understaffed. I had asked for some hot sauce but never received it. The staff could be heard calling out missing items for tables and calling at each other for help "wiping this area down." Came to IHOP today because Starbucks was shut down and I didn't know where to get some local coffee except for the fact that I saw a long time ago IHOP had a barista station so I decided to be extremely ambitious today and say screw it. Let's try it. Let me say my ambition has not done me wrong. The beautiful woman behind the counter with the braces and the beautifully braided hair hair made my caramel iced espresso today I told her I was a little bit nervous because I'm terrified of changing my coffee, but I'm willing to try something new she proceeded to make my coffee and I tried it. It was absolutely phenomenal. I have to say if you're tired of Starbucks or you just wanna switch up the coffee routine maybe come on over to IHOP and give it a try. Maybe we might have a new little coffee shop in our area. These girls are out here busting their ass and serving with a smile and honestly that brought my day more than Starbucks ever. Could my heart always belongs to Starbucks and it always will be a Starbucks fan, but the fact that I was able to go into IHOP this morning I was greeted with nothing but a beautiful smile and beautiful faces. The gravy was tasteless and bland. The hash browns weren't much better. The only reason for 2 stars is the milk was cold. They are overpriced as well. Around 11 am on 4/19, we came in as a party of 7 and put our name (Sarah) on the waitlist, and when we were called, the lady said "Tarah for 7" and we went up because she probably heard the party name wrong. She denied wanting to sit us and said she'll ask her manager. She starts walking to the table w/ menus so we followed and the table was clearly open but she starts being rude and giving attitude that she needs to ask her manager and we had to walk back to the front. I'm saying 5 stars today. They seemed short staffed for being the only real sit down breakfast restaurant for miles. We were having a girls weekend out in the desert and came here for lunch/extra breakfast for next morning. The choices in Landers are slim so I highly recommend stopping at the grocery store before you head down Old lady road . once on that road there is one chance for gas or grocery mom/pop and good luck risking if it's open. there were 17 miles of nothing in between so make sure you Gas up here too. We were caught by fire trying to get on 62 so we took a parallel road so we weren't stuck in the log jam of traffic for hours. TIP make sure you always have a full tank of gas and lots of water if you are heading out this way. We've been caught on the 10 several times for fires or dust storms and are always prepared. Back to Ihop: the ladies were swamped at one time and i only saw one cook in the kitchen. The restaurant was moderately busy but there was only thr day manager and our server but there were a couple larger groups of 4-8 ppl. I get those tables are demanding even though we were famished we waited patiently . I orders a burger with side of pancakes vs fries (tomorrow take home breakfast) and ihope gives pancakes as a side .. because it's IHOP! So it took a little while for my burger and my friends fruity salad , then my burger came out with mayo & lettuce so we sent back . Our server was so sweet and she actually came back and owned the mistake saying it was her fault not the cook. Never has this ever happened in my life so we doubled her tip. Seriously no server ever admits to a mistake and 5 stars for making it right and even getting a kudos for honesty. The burger was juicy and correct the second time. My friend loved her salad . My pancakes were awesome light fluffy and the next day they were still delicious . Try this ihop. have a little patience knowing that this isn't the city so people run here at a different pace . Our girls had the standard pancake, bacon and egg (scrambled) and my wife had eggs, hash browns and sausage. Everything was just ok. I made the mistake of ordering crepes. Why did I do that? I should have known better and kept it basic. The crepes were just bad. My wife ordered an iced coffee, Why did she do that? Not very good. We learned our lesson. I wish I could give more than two stars but I cannot. Starting off it was a little odd making our way to the entrance but once inside we were greeted and sat right away. We order two coffees and an apple juice for our sprout. Both of the coffee cups came with lipstick on the rims (lipstick is typically hard for the Hobart to remove but running them through twice does the trick). With our replaced mugs we poured our coffee and took our sips.. The coffee not only tasted burnt but also stale. Each brew machine has a timer light for 30 mins (when coffee is no longer fresh) and clearly the timer had just been reset rather than a new pot being brewed. It took about 15 minutes for our server to come back for our order and it truly set that pace of how our visit was going to be. We ordered two omelette and some funny face pancakes. One of the omelettes was modified for egg white substitutes and pepper jack cheese. When this omelette arrived it was raw from the edges and got substantially worse the further you went in. The internal texture was similar to grits and the substitute request for the cheese had not been made. In short it was grotesque. During our visit our server was mostly absent however there was one particular server who was assisting all of our server's tables. Unfortunately I wasn't able to catch her name but I did notice her beautiful accent (Aussie?) and that her name begins with an "M". I'm not sure if she is one of the managers but she definitely deserves to be. She was the person who sat us and greeted us right away, she is the one who addressed my concerns with my omelette and she also went by and did drink refills for us. The care that we received from her was the same level everyone around us received it. She was ensuring that people didn't need refills, checks or anything. So while I would say that this was a negative experience she has an individual is who deserves the stars that I'm providing not IHOP and if I could label this five stars solely for her, I would. read more

A restaurant on the rebound. It was a location known to avoid by locals and seemed doomed when competitors opened next door. But I tell you it has really taken a turn towards improvement you just feel walking up. The new manager has done a great job of building a team that all want to be successful while at work. and it seems like a whole new staff in the kitchen is really giving much needed fresh blood to the old building. The food was hot, made to order and the portions were the perfect size to be filling but not so much you had to take some home. I am glad I have them another chance. I will be back.
