We passed by before beginning our trek through that which is Ikea. I'm a big fan of salmon as well as lasagna so I obviously went with the salmon lasagna. I added on a side of macaroni. After I sat down I dug in. I have to say I was not impressed with the lasagna. Too little salmon, too much green stuff. To me it tasted almost like a vegetarian dish, not to knock those who get down like that but green veggie overload is just not my style!! I did enjoy the macaroni but I am a sucker for that style of mac n' cheese. Definitely a step above Publix and KFC mac but certainly made in the same vein. I was able to snag some meatballs from my girlfriends plate and those were enjoyable. If there's a next time I'm going with those and some macaroni. read more

This is like a high end tech company's cafeteria would be if europe had those. You can get a totally reasonable tray of food covering all the food groups and having nutritional balance. Then, reward yourself for your maturity with one of the giant slabs of desserts arrayed out on saucers. After all, you can't shop on an empty stomach. Those european crackers in the food store... it was my turn to replace the office snack. It had been cracker and pretzel mix, then it was long pretzel sticks, and now it was my turn. I thought I could find something european at ikea that would be truly awesome and not easily replaceable. I went with the crackers in the circular white and black packages. Europeans are probably used to adding things to their crackers because these are awfully bland. Also, too crunchy. They are so crunchy its hard to eat them and not choke on a cloud of cracker dust each bite. That can't be good for your lungs! These things remain in the office snack spot on top of the fridge, long after I've paid off my furniture cc charges. Nobody likes them or feels like replacing them. I love going to Ikea. I always find some inexpensive doodad that I needed. Best of all is a visit to their cafeteria style restaurant located on the second floor. On this occasion we came over after a visit to nearby Flamingo Gardens. My daughter and I both got the stuffed chicken breast with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes. The chicken was stuffed with a sweet cheese and cranberries. It was delicious. We also got a side of another favorite, the vegetable medallions. For desert we had the rich chocolate cake. Dinner for the two of us with drinks, extra sides, and a shared dessert was $24. A bargain to not have to cook dinner. In the past we have had the ribs and the stalwart staple, Swedish meatballs. I have never had anything I didn't like here. At certain times of the year they have a special smorgasbord for a fixed price. I have never made it to one because I live somewhat far from the store but they look delicious. Ikea family members get free coffee in the cafe. You can sign up at a kiosk downstairs. Also certain times during the year the store will have a special promotion where if you spend a certain amount in the store they give you a free meal in the cafe. Swedish meatballs are my go-to but everything has been good - salmon salads and wraps are yummy, chicken tenders and fries are faves for my little one. Usually I love the Ikea experience, but as of late in the Sunrise, Florida location I have been disappointed. We ordered their fabulous Swedish meatballs with the lingumberry sauce, however, to my dismay after traveling almost an hour from Miami, they didn't have the mashed potatoes! What are Swedish meatballs without the mash potatoes? It is like a vegetarian burger - no offense vegans. Furthermore, the Restaurant also looked unsanitary, food (to be specific french fries) on the floor and a very dull looking ambiance. What happen to Ikea? I think they need to retrain their employees Walmart style. Lastly, we went to the Ikea cafe toward the exit and ordered a coffee and a Cinnamon-bun. The Cinnamon-bun was hard probably left out for hours not fresh and the employees once again acting without care. We are very disappointed. We will be back only for the Swedish meatballs and the lingumberry juice as this is the only place to get them. Ikea please up your standards in service and in customer care. Note: Also you should stop checking customers receipts at the exits. They checked mine for a cinnamon bun and coffee. A word of business advise stop paying that employee wasted time checking for thievery as if you don't trust your customers and just take 15% off your accounting for common theft. We used to come here often because the food is good and the line is quick, even when busy. Then I have been here 3 times since the pandemic. There is not much different in terms of the way the run the operation but there seems to be very very few people behind the counters. It takes at least 30+ to get food even then they are not busy (3:30pm). They had a guy up front who directs people to go to one of two lines. Presumably, he would direct you to whichever line is shorter. Not until we got to our line we saw that the other one had half as many people. It is the dumbest direction. Then there is like one person behind the counter serving food which is EXTREMELY SLOW . I'm not sure how this set up would help IKEA as customers are wasting all this time at the restaurant rather than shopping in the store. So disappointing! read more

For the Price it was great food. I had the Swedish Meatballs which were as wonderful as everyone says. I'd skip the Mashed Potatoes though, they tasted like instant with chunks added. My children got the chicken fingers and fries and I tried a little of both. I must say they both were some of the best I have ever tried. If your shopping here or just in the area stop by for a decently priced quick meal. read more

Disappointed that the BBQ ribs were all gone so early in the evening. We settled for meatballs sans ligonberry sauce. The meal includes 15 of those little guys and they really fill you up. Be sure to save room for the corn bread, which is delicious-tastes almost like cake with a perfect texture (not over mixed) and buttery flavor. read more

Great way to split your visit at IKEA. Loud, average+ food, but a little bit of comfort.

If you've been to Ikea Broward you're aware there's a restaurant on the 2nd floor. But, If you've NEVER been to Ikea.... well, you should go but also, there's a restaurant on the 2nd floor. It's not fancy but serves some decent items and if you have kids, it's a deal. The menu and specials are seasonal and change daily and some of the specials are really good. Last fall they offered a chicken breast stuffed with red & green apples and smoked gouda and it was so good I found a recipe to make it at home. In addition theres many items that are offered everyday such as Caesar Salads with Chicken, a Wedge Salad with crumbled bacon, cherry tomatoes and Bleu Cheese Dressing (Neumann's Own Organic), cold salad plates with either chicken, tuna, egg salad, or fresh smoked Salmon (with or without a bagel & cream cheese) daily made Chicken or Veggie Tortilla Wrap Sandwiches and a few of the hot dishes available everyday are Swedish Meatballs served with (real) mashed potatoes, the vegetable of the day and lingonberries which are similar to cranberries, Chicken Tenders served with french fries, and their Macaroni & Cheese which, I happen to love. They also always offer a small mixed green salad, a daily soup and some type of bread or roll that is determined by the soup. For adults it's not cheap. For 2 adults with a regular full meal including drinks and a single dessert to share it averages $18-$22. They offer a child's plate with a scoop of macaroni & cheese and the vegetable of the day for $3.99 and the children's plates are available to everyone. More often than not (because It's my favorite) that's what I'll order along with a small green salad or soup. That works for me because then I'm not too full to spend 3 hours looking at furniture, home decor & accessories I either already own, don't need, or am convinced I need but probably don't! Also, as an FYI Ikea doesn't offer or use any type of disposable utensils or containers in the restaurant. So, this means if you purchase a beverage you receive a glass or ceramic coffee cup which can not be taken out of the dining area. Not only does that prevent people from having food/beverages in the shopping area but It also plays to Ikea's commitment to the environment! Hats off to you Ikea for that! Also, although Ikea's restaurants now offer Pepsi products in bottles and cans their fountain drinks they offer are Ikea's brand of cola and flavored waters which are all either low in sugar or completely sugar free and are all very good in my opinion. Something else I really like is that the dining rooms all have toasters and microwaves for public use in case you'd like to toast your bagel or make your food a little hotter. So hopefully the next time you go you can now decide if you want to grab a quick bite before entering the maze of home goods or just make an effort to steer clear! read more

Shopping makes everyone hungry, that's why most malls have food courts right? Well, this is Ikea's version of a food court. It is a nice place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea (Which is free if you are an Ikea member, which is also free to join) before you start shopping or to enjoy a lunch spread mid-shopping trip. The space itself can be crowded and a tad bit difficult at times to maneuver but it's not horrible. The dining area has some couches at the front for the people who just want to sit for a few minutes and maybe have a cup of tea. The rest of it has chairs and tables of various sizes. The food area is kind of set up like a cafeteria. You get a tray and then pick a dessert if you want one, which of course you do, so then you take it out of the display case and then move on to the cold entree options which you can skip if you want to go straight to the hot entree options which are served to you by mostly nice kitchen staff members. On your way to the cashier, you can stop and get soup, corn bread or rolls at the self-serve station. At the cashier, you pick up your cup which you fill up after paying. After paying, you go fill up your cup with your liquid of choice and silverware and go sit and enjoy your meal. Overall, the food is good for the price and is a good step above fast food. The only down side is the crowd and sometimes long lines but that is given when you go to a place like Ikea, and especially go on a weekend. Next time you are at Ikea, plan to enjoy to a meal at their restaurant. read more

This is a totally biased review because I freaking love IKEA, but this cafe is awesome. Good, cheap food served by friendly people in the middle of my favorite furniture store. It does not get much better than that! The meatballs and cinnamon rolls are must-haves and their breakfasts are pretty good, too. If you sign up for the IKEA family card you get free coffee and the IKEA mailing list will let you know when they have special events like their crawfish boil or all you can eat rib night. read more

IKEA is the best place for breakfast with the family! It's super cheap and affordable. The Swedish pancakes aren't my favorite but the heart shaped waffles with the strawberry jam is awesome!!! The eggs are okay but could be made better. Sausage and potatoes are tasty and fill you up quick! All their sparkling drinks are delicious as well! Had a quick on the go breakfast here. The eggs were in a word, gross. Looked and tasted like rubber and were overcooked. The only item that was good was the bacon, that was cooked just right and was crispy and tasty. I'm a huge foodie when it comes to sweets. I was quite surprised how delicious their cinnamon rolls are. I would have to say they are by far the best ones I've had. They super soft with the right combination of cinnamon to bread and there not dry and the best part is they serve them warm! Which makes them ever better, and there a Dollar!!!!! read more

One of the servers called Yalera might have worked for a prison before and the other one (did not check name) the same. Very bad management. I have eaten at the IKEA deli/buffets at several locations all around the East and West Coast, and this one in Ft. Lauderdale is as good as any. What always amazes me about their service and food is what you get for your dollar. You simply can't beat the breakfast value at $1.99. You get eggs, potatoes, bread, and bacon/sausage. Add coffee as well. You can't find that anywhere else that I know of around the USA. IKEA knows how to roll out the welcome mat to it's customers and site visitors. Thanks IKEA. read more

The Ikea restaurant is quite busy all the time but the food is good and the prices are great! IKEA is a Swedish company that is expanding all over the world. The restuarants are clean and the staff is friendly at the ikea in sunrise! It's a great place to eat if you want to do some shopping and eat while you're at it. great prices and delicious food & they sometimes have a big sale... if you plan on buying $100 or more of furnisher and than you eat at the restaurant and get your receipt and then you go downstair to purchase the stuff and they take want you spent at the restaurant and dedicate it from your bill and so you get a 10 - 70 discount +- depending on how much you eat and what you buy...i love IKEA. its easy, fun & affordable . oh and sometimes when i love something so much that i eat in the restaurant i go downstairs to the ikea food market and purchase it so i can eat more with my family at home... i love that. read more
