Not the usual experience at Waffle House. I waited a long time at the counter to place my order. My waitress thought the other waitress was going to take my order. I ordered the breakfast meal ($7.25) 2 eggs with toast and hash-browns, I wanted the hash-browns with onions $(.50). My waitress told me that they were out of onions. I ordered my eggs over medium, the yolks were broken. They said they would remake them and they never did. The toast was cold and the butter did not even start to melt. My waitress, Carmenrosa, was very nice and very apologetic, she even discounted my check. The restaurant was clean. I am not a big fan of plastic utensils for dine in (maybe for to-go orders). Waffle House is my favorite breakfast restaurant and I have been hundreds of times. This is my first time at this Waffle House and I think it's the most impressive one I've been too. Angie and her team had this place running like a well oiled machine and she even took time to stop by our table and make sure we were enjoying our meal. Our server Ricky was in training but was kind, quick and friendly! Our food came out super fast and was all cooked perfectly! The place was busy but the team handled it well and while everything was expedited, we didn't feel rushed. The building was clean and the gentleman working in the front was quick to clean new tables and get more people sat. No negative notes for this Waffle House. Hello, This Waffle House is great! We travel to Fort Lauderdale at least 4 times per year as we are in the process of relocating there within the next year. We located this Waffle House by doing a Google search. The service and food are top notch! When you walk into the restaurant, someone if not multiple employees greet you. We reside in the Midwest and overall customer service has declined, so it is very refreshing to see that it is alive and well here at the Southwest Ranches Waffle House. The music / Juke box is a very nice touch as well, as it has been playing on the majority of our visits. Finally, the food is excellent! The all star is the best way to go. Get some scrambled eggs with Tabasco and smothered/covered hash browns. Top that off with some crispy bacon and can't forget the toast with strawberry jelly. We have tried going there a couple of times after 10 and it's packed! So... if you want it fast make sure to get here by 8! Oh and it's cold inside! Lol bring a jacket or drink a lot of coffee. Not sure why my boyfriend likes this place. Every time he brings me I always see something wrong. Came here on New Year's Day. Slammed and dirty as hell with food, menus and trash scattered all over the dining area floor, but waited patiently. Tables were left Uncleaned for upwards of ten minutes and since there were 5 or so tables like this, I could feel the anxiety and rage slowly build up from the people waiting around me. The whispers turned to confused looks and pointing... When they finally came around to clean the tables the line moved quickly and my wife and I got a seat at the bar. Ive been going to Waffle House all over the south eastern United States for years and I have never, EVER, seen someone clean the ground until this day. Honestly I always wondered how and when they cleaned due to their model, but today I found out. I always assumed it was some type of wizardry that only allowed a certain amount of filth on the grounds. And it's always the same amount no matter what Waffle House you go to. Not today, I saw the floor for the very first time! We also had a late night out and we got a little aggressive ordering. We both had the waffles, eggs, grits, sausage,bacon, toast and hash browns. Purest definition of gluttony. But by god we finished 94% of it. The other 6% will have its place in the back of our refrigerator until we forget about and do a full clean out in a few weeks. As expected, everything was delicious. Like mana falling from the heavens. I don't know how they do it. I don't know there secrets. Do the cooks go to a fine culinary school prior to employment? When she heard that we were here on our honeymoon she and another waitress sang us a honeymoon song, the cook made us a hash brown heart and the manager comped us our waffles! When I did finally get my food, the young lady told me "Sorry about the wait" and I just told her it's okay. Once I got home the food was still nice and warm and tasted great so neither food nor service was an issue. I just feel that if a worker is responsible for a certain task, make it clear and give them grace! The guy before me ordered a whole family's worth of food which I'm sure was taking awhile, then my order, then someone else ordered after me. Meanwhile she's waiting on a table, and there's other people standing in the background not doing anything!! All for her manager to scold her and say to "speed it up" I believe they were calling her Sharlene, I forgot to check her name tag, but girl SHOUT OUT TO YOU. Where do I start? The positive first, our waiter was very nice and responsive. The scrambled eggs with cheese were delicious. That's about it, then we get to the steak, the steak was a little thicker than steak Ums. With bone and grizzle. The only potato option was hash browns? Came in on a Sunday 11/13 the manager was doing everything to avoid seating a table during a rush, she even sat down to play on her phone and eat some toast. All the time avoiding bussing a table so the rest of the staff could pick up her slack. Our waitress Shonda although being made to do all the work was excellent and did her best while not getting any support from the manager, she was turning tables all by herself. IWe love Waffle Houses. Have visited them in many states. This is closest to where we live and made me very sad. We always sit at the counter because we like to watch the efficiency with which food is ordered and cooked. Nobody was sitting at the counter when we arrived but the counter had not been wiped and had ring marks and was dirty. Did not receive the usual cheerful greeting we are used to. There were about five servers on duty -- two pleasant and cheerful and the rest grumpy and seemed to be wishing they were somewhere else. The area surrounding the waffle making machines was piled high with pieces of waffle dough and looked like they had not been tidied up for a long time. The cooking surfaces also needed some tending.
