Lester's is the classic American Diner. Great food, decent prices and super amazing staff. We needed sustenance after a night out and craved diner food. Consulted my trusted Yelp app and to Lester's we went! Their Sunrise location has been around for years with such great reviews and I definitely saw why. First and foremost, the staff here was amazing. Welcoming, friendly and patient. There was no wait time for service. We probably waited 10-15 minutes for our food. Eggs were a perfect over medium. Loved their soft and buttery biscuits as well. Filling and generously portioned, this breakfast was exactly what we needed. Lester's Diner is a chain and this location is right off of the sunrise exit by the stadium. We have been here before, but this visit was extremely disappointing. We visited the Sunrise location on a Wednesday around 1:00 pm. My father ordered the diner skillet with no hash browns and requested scrambled eggs. When his meal arrived, it was not hot. The vegetables were undercooked, and the eggs were thin, layered, and also cold. My father politely asked if they could simply scramble the ingredients together in the skillet and heat it up a little. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, the manager responded that he "should not have ordered that." He refused to take the meal back and told my father to order something else. The interaction was unnecessarily rude and very embarrassing. My father and his friend both commented that they had never been treated that way in a restaurant before. When we asked for the manager's name, he refused to provide it. Everyone can have an off day, and mistakes happen in restaurants. What matters is how they are handled. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism and unwillingness to correct a simple issue turned what could have been a minor problem into a very unpleasant experience. Came back to a Lester's after a 25 year separation and we really missed everything about it!!! The looks, the service, the food the atmosphere we dreamed about it but the reality of returning was SO MUCH BETTER!!!! The new diner look is clean and inviting the menu has so much to offer!!! My son had eggs with 2 types of sausage and bacon and the pancakes were absolutely delicious!! Nothing remained on the plate. My husband listened to the waitress and had chopped sirloin and sweet potato and salad and cucumber salad. He must of mmmmm with every bite. Highly unusual for him but he truly loved his dinner. Twenty years since we last visited this location. Use to bring the family for breakfast or dinner. We did read that the place was remodeled a few years ago. Decided to "ROLL THE DICE" and go for late breakfast. I must say that upon pulling into the parking lot the memories started coming back. Good sign that the lot was pretty full. Pretty much the same as we remembered it inside. Our waitress, Drew, was very courteous and polite. I ordered the 2-2-2 breakfast with fluffy pancakes, two eggs, and two sausages that our waitress recommended. She was right! Not your small links, two nice size grilled sausages that were very tasty. My wife had the SPARTAN omelette which consisted of gyro meat and veggies with tzatziki sauce that was the best we've had in a longtime. Side of grits, ok, and rye toast. Lester's Diner is well known in South Florida, and you'll see why when you visit one of their locations. My go too is the location in Sunrise, located just minutes away from Sawgrass Mills Mall. Recently this location under went renovations, and its newly improve. The decor, the new booths and tables and chairs are beautiful. The staff here are all wonderful and very welcoming. The menu is large, and breakfast and lunch is served all day long. I've been coming to Lester's occasionally for 3 years now and have never had a bad meal. We enjoyed breakfast at Lester's Diner. We arrived before a large breakfast crowd began to form (around 10:30 a.m.). With six people in our party, we were seated in a roomy booth. Service was great except our server had to keep going back for replacements or corrections that could have been done before she came out. The food was delicious. We were seated right away, and our waitress promptly brought coffee while I ordered the Lester's Big Deal with a side of cheese grits. I was going to have a breakfast with my friend who was out of town. This place is big and clean. The server was very attentive, and the coffee was filled before even we asked for it. We walked in around 9 am and the place was half full. By the time we were leaving around 10 am, this place was packed and people were lined up outside. Everything was great until the bill came. My love ordered an omelet a veggie omelet but wanted spinach as well included. When the check came the way the server rang it in was under a custom omelet with all the ingredients added at 1.50$ per item. When we were under the impression of a veggie omelet but add spinach, it wasn't rang that way. When I approached the front desk all they said is we can't add spinach to a veggie omelet. Which seems weird especially since the system they use is TOAST a very common system for many restaurants that makes features for this exact reason. Unfortunately we weren't informed that the difference in price was about 5-6$ more than what we expected. Bad business I must say. As a server it's your responsibility to make sure the guests know any adjustments they want are made correctly including knowing the difference in PRICE when making simple food service requests. They have a huge menu so you can always find something, and I've never been disappointed by a menu item. I've been to other diners, and I feel like Lester's food is better quality than most. I cam here with a small group of 15 women and we had a place in the back to sit. The waitress was very helpful and very friendly. Unfortunately, because we had to speak to the whole group, we asked them to turn down the music, which they didn't. So we had to talk loudly and focusing on the one speaker, was difficult. They did include the tip into the bill because there were more than 6 of us - so I tried telling everyone so that they didn't double tip. Ordered the 2-2-2 Pancakes were cold and hard after one bite asked the server to take them back. Following protocall she notified the mamager who came and questioned me and stated that the butter made the pancakes cold. I advised him to take them back and bring us the bill. he was not happy and was insinuating to me that it was our fault. I then out of fustration said bring the bill we will pay and go. Don't you know he did not take the order off of the bill after all. I asked him for his name and his response was none of my business. This is the manager? he is not very customer or buisness oriented and needs training. i will never go back after more than 30 years eating at Lesters. I haven't been to Lester's in probably 20 years and I the last few months I have been going about 2x a week. There is something for everyone and I have enjoyed everything I have ordered. After my visit last night I realized that I haven't written a review yet and I wanted to add my 2 cents. Although they do serve breakfast all day, breakfast is a smaller section later in the day. We have always enjoyed breakfast and honestly I was shocked that I enjoyed the nova platter more than I have at some bagel places. Yes, the bagels aren't the best I've ever had, but they weren't the worse either. The portion is perfect, even for my nova loving kid. Last night I had the grilled salmon sandwich. The salmon was cooked perfect and was delicious. It was bigger than the bread, and did I mention it was perfect? My daughter had the same thing and agreed. My husband had the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and quinoa. He said the chicken was a little tough, but had nice flavor and he enjoyed his sides and matzah ball soup. I have had the tuna (excellent), shrimp salad (excellent), eggs (yum), oatmeal (perfect), LEO (filled with lox). Stuffed mushrooms - Yum - and the left overs warmed up sooooo good! I had to deduct a star because I feel they nickel and dime a little. I ordered onion & lettuce (but no tomato) and there was $1 charge for the onion. My husband had gravy on his mashed potatoes and there was a $1 charge. The thing that bothers me is that we had no choice, because we weren't told about the charges. This is not a place I normally would go to, but our friends wanted to go here. I also ate here about three weeks ago. I had had a chance to write this review until now. So I started with a bowl of matzoball soup. It wasn't bad. Then I had the baked Cod with a side of cucumber salad and quinoa. The was I little bit over cooked, but was still good. My wife and I had brunch at Lester's Diner, Sunrise, FL, today (3/16/26). The bill was $43 before tax and tip. No free refills of coffee. We each had 2 cups, which cost us $14.76! This is very expensive compared to similar meals at other restaurants. The restaurant has been remodeled, but they didn't do any acoustical treatment of the surfaces. It is VERY loud. I'm not sure why this restaurant has only three stars, I've been here many times and have never had a bad meal or bad service. The omelettes are enough for two people or for two meals and my favorite is the spinach and feta omelette. You can get home fries, hash browns, tomato or grits and toast on the side with any of the omelettes. They also have a very good pastrami Rueben which cones with cole slaw (which I usually sub for their potato salad) on the side. My son loves their Monte Crisco sandwich and their pancakes. The only thing I'm not super crazy about are their desserts. We tried a couple and just weren't impressed even though they look so good in the case. The place is always spotless and as I said service is always friendly and efficient. It does tend to be a little cold in there so bring a sweater if you don't like really cold AC! read more

Well since I'm a regular I figured I should share This place is a typical diner in that it has tons of options and soups and sandwiches...but it's Greek selection including Dolmades and spinach pie as well as gyros are all excellent Breakfast is all day and a favorite is the Athena omelet which has feta cheese and spinach. Comes with choice of bread including bagel and potato choice. I opt for sliced tomato. All made in house including breads! Diners are always a great choice when you're not quite sure what you're in the mood for. They usually have plenty to choose from, they're relatively quick & you can't really beat the price point. Lester's nailed all of that & then some with a very good wait staff. It was my 1st time going here but I'm sure it won't be my last after the enjoyable meal I had. I visited on a late Sunday afternoon so there were plenty of tables available. I also noticed that the empty tables were all bussed down & there weren't any dirty dishes left out which is always great to see. My party was seated almost immediately after entering the restaurant & our waitress came over within a couple of minutes to get our drink order. She was very kind & didn't make us feel rushed at all throughout our meal. Their menu offers TONS of options, whether it's breakfast (which they serve all day), lunch, or dinner. You can get anything from deli sandwiches that're piled high with meat, to burgers, to skillets, to fluffy pancakes & the list goes on. It's almost impossible to pick just 1 thing which is why I will definitely be back to try more! I'm the type of person who loves breakfast at any time of the day so I went with the "Lester's 2-2-2." It comes with 2 eggs, 2 sausage links (or bacon if you prefer) & 2 pancakes. My over-easy eggs came out perfect, the sausage links were crispy on the outside but super juicy when you bit into them & the pancakes were amazing. The batter was a little sweet with a nice hint of vanilla & they were incredibly soft for how thick they were. You usually want to drown most pancakes in syrup but the flavor of these alone were so good that it wasn't necessary. My mom got the Rachel, which of course I had to take a bite of & it was another good choice. The pastrami was juicy/flavorful, the rye bread was toasted perfectly & it was loaded! No complaints whatsoever. To those who order pick-up meals & then complain about something being soggy or cold, my advice would be to avoid the trip back home & box.
