Food: Egg whites were fluffy and bacon was crispy...sooo delicious. Fresh fruit, watermelon, strawberries, plum, nectarine were all delicious. Prime rib was tender especially with the glaze. Fruit tart was yummy. My husband ate all the seafood choices and had no complaints. No complaints on all the food options. Rose' wine, I was not a fan of but that's ok. Service was on point. Ambiance was beautiful. This is going to be our new once a month Sunday brunch spot.

This was definitely on the higher end of buffets, 54$ per person for a breakfast buffet. Although it is worth it for ppl with good appetite since all the items on the buffet were awesome. The restaurant has both indoor and out door dining with outdoor dining looking over to chapel at one end and the dolphin fountains on the other end. I have never seen nova lox being served in a buffet so definitely got that, they have nice puddings as well, I had the dragonfruit coconut chia seeds pudding which was actually very nice and I wouldn't have otherwise usually ordered it had it not been a buffet. We were staying in the hotel the grand Wailea but there are no discounts for hotel guests so we didn't come with much expectations.. the view and the food made it worthy for us to dine there once and if in the area I would love to come here again.

Complimentary Continental Breakfast for Hilton Gold and Diamond members

I dined here only for breakfast while staying at Waldorf Astoria Wailea Maui. They gave us options of free continental breakfast for Hilton Honors Diamond members and full breakfast buffet at $19 per person (regular price is like close to $40 I think). I was not really hungry during this trip so had just the free continental breakfast, which turned out more than enough food. You still get full waiter service, offer of coffee, tea, different types of juices. The view was certainly magnificent and the service was excellent. I cannot really speak for the food as my continental breakfast consisted of varieties of fruits, yogurt and bread. But I definitely had a positive experience.

Visited Ikena for the Rose Brunch today for the first time...wow! Our server Mharlin was awesome and the buffet was decadent. Attached are a few photos. Prime Rib and Ham carving station, Mahi Mahi, Korean chicken, Ahi Poke, crab legs, lobster claws, shrimp, oysters, lumpia, dumplings, French toast waffles, omelette station, dessert station and so much more, this buffet lacked nothing. Rose, Mimosa's and a Bloody Mary bar.... Mind blown. Can't wait to visit again!

First time going to the Rose brunch at 'Ikena and it was excellent. From the moment we got there, we were greeted by the hostess and got seated right away. We had a spectacular view of the ocean with an open air atmosphere. Food was amazing no doubt, crab claws, shrimp, prim rib, etc.,etc. Buffet set up was on point, very professional and clean. Friendly service with an outstanding crew.Highly recommend restaurant when your visiting the beautiful island of Maui located in the Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort. Definitely a 5 star experience

Selections from the breakfast buffet - papaya, house-smoked salmon, char siu manapua, shrimp siu mai, malasadas

We came here for breakfast and were immediately won over by the ocean views. This is quintessential Maui dining. We initially planned to order off the menu but there were only 6 items and none of them were particularly appealing. So we sprang for the buffet (ouch - at least the kid was free). As far as breakfast buffets go, this one was pretty good (at least compared to the Westin and the Hyatt). I was excited to see options like papaya, manapua, siu mai, malasadas, bread pudding, fried rice, and eggs benedict. The usual suspects like eggs, bacon, oatmeal, sausage, and more standard fruits were there as well. There were a lot of people waiting when we got there around 9 but the crowds cleared pretty quickly. Watch out for the birds. The scare-owls don't seem to be doing a sufficient job of frightening away the other birds.

the breakfast buffet was pricey ($56) but the offerings do not disappoint! the herb vegetables were flavorful and fresh, and the omelets are made fresh with options to build your own or select one of the 'specials'! there are many options that i didn't get, such as pancakes, waffles, bacon, etc. the service was good, and of course you're at the grand wailea so the setting is amazing. the only downside is the price is pretty hefty for a breakfast in my opinion.

We were hotel guests at the Grand Wailea and chose the Grand Dining Room for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Doors opened up at 7:00am, and we were one of the first few customers that were seated close to lanai with the spectacular view of the grand fountain. Our server was Edison and he was a pleasure. I was inclined to order from the breakfast menu, however he had convinced me that the $31 Breakfast Buffet was a better choice. My craving for Eggs Benedict was strong though, and I only saw an omelet station. So, I expressed my concern. He said he could put in a special order for Eggs Benedict to be included with the buffet price. And, he also included a small plate of Miso Salmon! While I waited for my "special order," I headed to the buffet line. The food selection is nicely displayed in four separate stations: hot foods, breads & pastries, fruit & salad bar, and the omelet station. Some of the unique options were malasadas, miso soup, yogurt parfait, fancy cheeses, lavosh, and the salsa bar. Just walking to the buffet section felt like I was royalty with marble floors and tall ceilings with large mural paintings. I returned to the table to find a cup of coffee and guava juice as I had requested earlier. Our server was quick and efficient! Both beverages were a great start to a beautiful day in Maui. The food: 5 STARS! Outstanding. Just excellent. So good. OMG! Totally worth the price. And guess what? If you're Kamaaina, there's a 20% discount!! What a deal. What a deal!! I finished everything on my plate, plus the special order items. It was delicious. To top it off, the view of the fountain courtyard was just amazing. Even though I had to walk up to the balcony to take a photo of it, it was really spectacular from our deck (4th floor). Be sure to check it out!

We chose Ka'ana Kitchen for our final night to celebrate our niece's 15th birthday. Unfortunately, the way restaurant management handled a very simple wine issue completely derailed the evening. My father-in-law ordered a 2018 Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon, specifically as listed on the wine menu. The bottle brought to the table was a 2019. We noticed the discrepancy before it was opened and politely pointed it out. This should have taken 30 seconds to resolve: acknowledge the mistake, apologize, and offer an alternative. Instead, our server became defensive and tried to explain why the different vintage should not matter. Restaurant manager Matthew then became involved and continued focusing on why the 2019 was supposedly equivalent. But we were not asking for a discount or debating the quality of the wine. The restaurant listed a 2018 and presented a 2019. That was the entire issue. Matthew told us he had consulted the wine director, Vivi, so we asked to speak with her. That was when the situation became genuinely unacceptable. Rather than simply acknowledging an obvious and easily correctable mistake, Vivi was remarkably defensive, dismissive, and confrontational. She repeatedly told us that vintages "change all the time" and defended the restaurant's handling of the situation. When we pointed out that staff should verify the vintage being presented against what is actually listed on the wine menu, her response was essentially that she would "take that into consideration." The tone was astonishing. We have dined at excellent restaurants throughout the U.S. and internationally, and none of us could recall ever being spoken to by restaurant management that way over such a straightforward issue. Bringing the wrong vintage was a minor mistake. Refusing to own it and treating guests as though they were the problem for pointing it out was the serious failure. Before our entrees arrived, Matthew returned, apologized, and told us the wine would be comped. We appreciated the gesture, but the apology felt more like damage control than genuine ownership of what had happened. He then told us that he had checked the surname on our reservation, realized our family was Korean, and explained that he was Korean as well and that his mother would not have approved of how we had been treated. That was extraordinarily awkward. Why should learning that we were Korean have changed his assessment of whether we had been treated appropriately? Our ethnicity should have had absolutely nothing to do with recognizing that the situation had been mishandled. After that interaction, other staff members delivered our entrees and our server essentially disappeared. I had specifically asked before ordering the ahi whether the kitchen could provide a piece without the prominent tough white connective tissue and was assured the request would be communicated to the chef. The tuna arrived with exactly what I had asked to avoid, and our server never returned to check whether it was acceptable. My 15-year-old niece was also served an expensive steak with a knife so dull she struggled to cut it. Portions of my accompanying noodles were cooked until hard and crunchy. When our server finally returned near the end of the meal and I pointed out the noodles and asked that he show them to the chef, his response was simply, "That's how it's made." The restaurant ultimately comped the wine and took care of several desserts and drinks, which we appreciated. But removing items from a bill after an experience has gone badly is not the same as good service recovery. What began as a trivial wine-list discrepancy became a cascade of defensiveness, a remarkably unpleasant interaction with the wine director, an inappropriate and uncomfortable reference to our ethnicity from the restaurant manager, and then a noticeable breakdown in basic table service. That is especially disappointing because we genuinely love Andaz Maui and return regularly. We had spent a fantastic family vacation together in one of the resort's villas and deliberately chose Ka'ana Kitchen for a milestone birthday dinner on our final evening. Mistakes happen. Great restaurants own them. I sincerely hope Andaz leadership reviews what happened at our table, particularly the conduct of the restaurant manager and wine director. This was not simply an incorrect bottle of wine or a disappointing meal. It was a failure of hospitality and service recovery that warrants serious management attention. Eight members of our family left what should have been a wonderful birthday dinner talking about how badly Ka'ana Kitchen handled something that should have been effortless to correct. That should concern a resort of Andaz Maui's caliber.

We've eaten here a few times and I got to try everything, so I think I have a good take on the place. My initial quest was to try every buffet in Maui island, specifically to find a made-to-order buffet here in Maui (post-transplant patients have to stay away from buffets due to cross contamination, germs, etc). I've eaten here pre and post op and it's good, decent! It's not comprehensive, as it's a small, tiny buffet, but for what it offers, I like it. From a year or two ago, it was $22, then late last year it jumped to $25, and when we went today (6/2023) it is now $30. Still cheap considering you can easily spend that, for 2 people (especially at a hotel buffet). You check in with the person at the podium adjacent to the buffet nook to pay first and put in your initial order. The menu of the made-to-order items are on an upright menu and consist of: loco moco, avocado toast, egg tarts (leek, spinach and cheese, and Swiss), egg scramble on toast, oatmeal, Belgian waffles, etc). You can also order lattes and cappuccinos here, but they're trash because they come from one of those kureig things. Very watery. In the actual DIY area of the buffet they have: charcuterie board, hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, muffins, croissants, fresh cut fruit like blueberries, melons and strawberries, cereals like cheerios and granola, cartons of milk, carafes of juice like OJ, apple, pineapple, water and iced coffee. A breakfast yogurt with chia seeds, and oatmeal toppings like brown sugar, dried cranberries, etc. All your condiments like ketchup, Tobasco, sugar, and utensils are in the buffet area as well. I deducted a star because seating is weird and kind of sparse, and the coffee is bad. Again, their selection is smaller than conventional buffets, especially for hotels, but I've always left content and happy. If you like having many options to try for a meal that buffets offer but in a made-to-order format, come here. Along with the always friendly hostess/server, I'll come back.

I saw the Sunday Brunch deal on my Facebook with a Free Pool Pass for the month of June! We couldn't pass that up. Because we went on the very last Sunday in June, it was real busy with visitors staying at the hotel and locals alike taking advantage of this Summer deal so we expected it. We got maybe 2-3 plates each. My cousin took advantage of the proteins first. He went straight to get the Ko Rosemary Crusted Prime Rib with the Horseradish and Au Jus which was delicious and our top favorite. He wasn't a big fan of the Mochiko Chicken, he said it was a bit dry. I started off with the selection of appetizers like the Ulu & Potato Mac Salad, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Waipoli Baby Greens with Papaya Seed Dressing and Poi! I loved it all. I was pretty naive and put the scrambled eggs and Braised Short Ribs on my plate but didn't realize it was a Loco Moco station lol! That was a fail but the Braised Short Ribs was so tender and is a must if you go. Make sure you make yourself a Loco Moco lol! Other favorites was the Lavender Honey Crispy Shrimp (because there was so many people I got the bottom of the bowl but they refilled it right after), Pork Shumai with Mustard Sauce, and Longanisa (Filipino Sausage with Garlic and Vinegar) with Onions. My coworker told me his stomach got upset from the Ahi a few months ago so I kinda stayed away from the Seared Ahi station (and I love ahi) except for the Vegetable and California Rolls and the Shumai. I took one Kimchee Shrimp just to try but the shrimp didn't taste the best sadly. I was also looking forward to the Pancakes station since I read there's Banana Pancakes and Chantilly Sauce! I do love me some Chantilly but it was mini Regular Pancakes with Strawberry, Lilikoi (Passion Fruit) Butter, and Syrup. I was a bit disappointed but the desserts didn't disappoint and was a hit. Our favorites were the Guava Chiffon Cake which was light and creamy, Hokkaido Cheese Tart, Calamansi Tartelettes and also the Paniolo Banana Rum Cake. I love small desserts-less waste and definitely leaving you satisfied when done right! Overall it was delicious- some hits and a few misses but we both understood it was the last Brunch deal day and had a relaxing Pool day afterwards. We both work in Customer Service/Hospitality and we appreciated the Staff working hard and being so welcoming and friendly, full of aloha.

The made‑to‑order omelets were excellent--we ordered ours with everything (veggies and meat), and it was perfect. The avocado toast bar was another highlight, and the selection of fresh fruit was impressive. A couple of notes: alcohol isn't served until after 8 a.m., and if you sit on the outdoor patio, be prepared for very active birds--they're constantly swooping around. The view is beautiful, though, so it's still worth it.

Humble Market Kitchen feels like a restaurant that knows it has a captive audience and has stopped trying very hard. The food was uninspired, generic, and significantly overpriced for what was delivered. Nothing was particularly bad, but almost nothing was memorable either. Breakfast was especially underwhelming. Skip the buffet. The eggs were watery and soupy, and the "Hawaiian sausage" turned out to be little more than sliced hot dogs. For a resort of this caliber in a destination known for incredible food, it felt surprisingly low effort. Service was probably the strongest part of the experience, but even that was average at best. I'd call it a 6 out of 10. Friendly enough, but not the level of hospitality you'd expect given the prices and setting. The disconnect is especially noticeable because the Wailea Beach Resort itself is fantastic. We genuinely loved our stay and would absolutely return to the property. That's what makes the restaurant so disappointing. It feels like a business operating inside a great resort rather than an extension of the resort experience. If you're staying at the Wailea Beach Resort, do yourself a favor and explore the many excellent dining options around Wailea instead. Maui has too many great restaurants to spend your vacation settling for this one.
