Went there at 10 am and nobody was there. Sign said open at 10am but there was not anyone in the restaurant.

Very good submarine sandwiches from this small mom and pop shop. The best one is the Italian sub. When I was a child, my mother would take me to shop at out local K-Mart in Texas, and in that store they had a mini deli shop that sold submarine sandwiches. These remind me of old time sandwiches made with love and care with quality, not quantity, in mind. I just love that. I will continue to support this shop for the quality sandwiches they put out. read more

For the Italian sub, literally one layer of lunchable salami and garbage cheese (no pepperoni no ham no Italian seasoning and pepper or olive oil and vinegar, ya know like an actual ITALIAN). The kicker is you get one choice of topping so I got lettuce. Somehow it was the most dehydrated lettuce on earth. Save yourself the time, go to your fridge, eat the deli slices you have in the bottom drawer, easily more rewarding experience. Holy heck, can a dude get some ham? Or maybe a menu with ingredients? Went in for lunch today. Even as a paying customer, I was denied access to use the restrooms. Baffling. Also, arch them make your sandwich. Asked for no mustard on an Italian sub. Only to find out they didn't listen and smothered it with mustard. I absolutely hate mustard and was ready to throw up. The bread was good tho. The people behind the counter suck. read more

My usual go to when I'm trying a new sandwich shop is the BLT, so my first time I had the BLT. There was nothing wrong with the sandwich, but there was also really nothing right with it either. Upsides, the bread was fine and the veggies were fresh. Downsides the bacon was prepackaged and microwaved, also kind of pricey for the quality. $14 for a foot long sandwich with extra meat. read more

When I was a teenager, there was a Mr. Submarine in the plaza next to my high school. We ate there all the time. When they closed that location we were disappointed. My cousin in California mentioned Mr. Submarine recently in a Facebook post for someone to do a contactless delivery all the way from Arizona. Lol He loves it! The owners of this place have been feeding me THE GREATEST sandwiches since the mid/late 80's. I used to live at 24th and Highland in the 80's (when you could afford to) and Mr. Submarine was my go to place for a really good sub. 40 years later they still serve up some of the best good ol' BASIC sammiches in the Valley. I drive 30 minutes just to get our "Mr" fix. Todd R doesn't get it, never will, he pretty much likes sausage sandwiches...... I'm not much of a sandwich/sub person, it's not something a desperately crave, but I am a Mr. Submarine kind of person. Some of these reviews are right in saying that Mr. Sub isn't anything fancy and they are very simple subs. But guess what? There's other places that do fancy so if that's what you want then go elsewhere. I have been a fan of Mr. Submarine since 2010, I remember the year because one of my best friends took me here after school and her and her family have been regulars for years. Then I became a regular myself and now my sisters also goes here often. If you love to support local and family owned business with GREAT customer service then this is a spot you need to check out. Unfortunately I went to the "dark side" for a bit and started visiting a non-local sub shop, but I'm back and loving their new space.They may not be "fancy" but they're still good quality and it's a place where you can really get to know the people working there. read more

Checked out the new location for Mr Sub.... Great improvement on the seating and interior, excellent customer service, but I was hoping for an upgrade on the subs too... My husband told me he has been going to this place since 1987, when in high school. He lived in the area for 16 years and frequented. Married 5 years and live in North Phoenix, but my husband still stops occasionally as he is heading to the office in Chandler (they all work from home now). Today, I came with and even though is a small business, the subs were great. The bread is amazing. The owner is quick and very friendly. Over priced subs I ordered a 6 inch pizza sub and received a 4 inch cheese sandwich with tomato sauce no joke $7.49 with a 16oz water

Rudy and his family/staff are always super friendly and fast. Have been getting the club toasted, or the pastrami. My faves.
