My mother loves deep dish pizza/thick crust. She and I have enjoyed Il Basilico's pizza on every visit. The thick pizza is surprisingly and delightfully light. The pizza is hot, fresh, and delicious. When it comes to pizza, I am picky. I am normally not a fan of thick crust pizza, but at Il Basilico it is delicious! I take my mom to The Hallmark Store, then to Il Basilico several times a year for a sweet mother-daughter outing. The service at Il Basilico is usually pretty good but at times has been inconsistent. Occasionally, we have had an inattentive server; you know the type--inexperienced, obliviously playing with her phone or gazing into space, incapable of noticing customers' social cues. You have to ask her to wipe the table or top off your water and you end up feeling like you're rearing someone's child that wasn't socialized during lockdown. She wasn't there during our most recent visit. Overall the service is prompt, attentive, and courteous. It would be untruthful to say the service is always seamless. I have experienced extremely long wait times once in a while but on most occasions the service has been fine. Just keep in mind the service can be a gamble if you are in a hurry or dining with a senior citizen who wants to eat immediately. The wait staff always bring you delicious hot bread and this is a treat, especially if you are dining with hungry cranky kids or senior parents. Went here several months (pre-covid) ago on a busy Friday night (around 7pm) and was told we couldn't be seated at all after I asked how long the wait was. No explanation, just that they wouldn't seat us. I walked out surprised, and confused. I did not want to make a scene due to my three children who were in tow. Called tonight to give it another shot. I asked a question, the "new" staff member didn't know the answer nor did she try to figure it out. Again, felt like I was an inconvenience. The woman at pick up was not pleasant, probably the same woman who took my order. Dropped the receipt in the food box and walked off not saying a thing after I paid and thanked her. I remember coming to this place and enjoying it a few years ago. Came this evening with my wife and niece and nephew. Place was busy but not crowded. Service was slow and food mediocre. Good food, but if you do take out they assume you have a massive empty front car seat to transport their florist style box that they pack their stuff in which is ridiculous and don't even ask on the phone if you prefer bag and box. And it's a long box like you see in a florist that stores long stem roses. They will place a pasta dish, a sandwich, and salad in this type box thinking Grandma can hold it in the car on the ride home. Visited the restaurant with the kids and some friends. The pizza was excellent but I had to write this review because my meal (the Chilean seabass special) really irritated me and left me really thinking about ever sitting down for another dinner plate at this restaurant. The owners should be ashamed to charge $27 for what I estimated to be a ridiculously small 2 to 3 ounce portion of seabass. It looked like the piece of fish fell apart and only half the portion made it to the plate (see picture). I understand times are tough, but there's no excuse to be charging $27 for this plate. Suggestion for the owner - if you want to charge $27 and seabass is too expensive to serve a decent sized 6 ounce portion, then supplement the dish with a couple of shrimp or some clams. Think about this - your frutti di mare (shrimp, scallops and crab over pasta) is $27. It'd say the portion of sea bass you served me was equivalent to 3 shrimp and the frutti di mare would have had at least 3 times the amount of high-end protein. I will say that the dish was actually tasty but I just felt like I was being taken advantage of by the restaurant. Two stars because the pizza and the server were good. read more

Im gonna lead off that this place is not for me. For me, this restaurant seems a little over priced for the quality of food you receive. Do I recommend this place? Not sure, but I do suggest coming here to get pizzas for your child's sleepovers. I'm not quite sure how this place gets as much business as it does. Been here multiple times and I would say that the best item here is the French fries. The wings were surprisingly large and meat was tender. Beyond that, nothing here is really special. The Meatballs were bland and possibly frozen. The pizza was again just ok - other local places make better pizzas. Bottom line. I've been to worse places and I've been to better. This is the worst dining experiance I've had in a looong time. First we purchased the all you can eat pasta for 2 groupon. When we got there I advised the waitress we wanted to know the specifics of the promotion so we could decide if we wanted to use the groupon or not. She handed us a peice of paper with very limited choices but never the less we decided go with the groupon deal. The waitress was delayed in coming over to the table to get our drink order. We were with a 4 year old child and although we noticed crayons and coloring pages she never offered. Then when we inquired she stated she would bring them over. One set was given out to a table with another child. 10 minutes later my husband got up to grab another set of crayons to find out the second basket was empty. 5 minutes later our waitress came over to tell us there wer no more crayons. Finally our food arrived. Our daughers food would not arrive for another 5 minutes. When her food came it was so hot she couldn't eat it. So she had to wait. When she was finally able to eat ... her comes the waitress with crayons and a coloring page. When the basket of crayons arrived there were at least 10 crayons in there. I'm wondering why our waitress could not ask for a few crayons out of the other basket. So now that my daugher can eat all she wants to do is color. So, one pasta dish down. My husband and I wanted to try another pasta dish for the all you can eat pasta for 2 groupon deal. When we placed our next order we were then informed "You can only order the same dish" Really, its pasta. It cost you next to nothing. If I was told this in the beginning I would have never used the Groupon deal for this meal. How much baked ziti can one eat. Over all bad experiance topped off by bad service. The deal misleading and the waitress did nothing to clarify making it even worse. read more

So My Hubby and I were out and about last night to REI. We have been there a few times over the last few weeks and kept seeing things NOW OPEn sign above this little place called Pasta Blitz. So we drove by and peered in and figured lets try it. The place is very cute. It reminds me a of a Pizzeria but with a bit more class. The decor is very nice and warm with a wonderful orange color and red accents. THey say they are brining their customers authentic Italian dishes just like the ones their mom used to prepare back in Naples, Italy with both the decor and authentic Italian cuisine. The website is very friendly and has a complete list of daily lunch specials (which there are at least 4 every day), their menu and much more. The food... They start you with bread and an olive oil/balsamic vinegar mix with seasoning We started with the MOZZARELLA STICKS 7) Served with a side of tomato sauce 5.95. They were the best I have ever had (not sure if they were but they tasted homemade) I had PENNE ALLA CARBORANA Penne pasta sauteed with olive oil, pancetta and egg yolk in a light cream wine sauce, finished with romano cheese & fresh blck pepper 10.95- It was yummy. The sauce was different from any carborana that I have ever had (not as think and some different tastes) but was very good. My Hubby had CHICKEN PARMIGIANA Tender chicken breast, lightybreaded & pain fried. Topped with melted mozzarella cheese. Served with spaghetti in our tomato sauce 10.95 It was HUGE! Everybody was very friendly and plenty of people check in on us. There were about 5 other tables while we were there but they set up 2 different tables for 9 and placed reserved markers on them. We made reservations for 7 people on a Saturday night, and only ended up with 4 people. It was not a problem for them. While we were there, the dining room filled up, then emptied out about half way, and then filled up again. Our stay there was at least 90 minutes. This is a BYOB restaurant, and we brought 4 bottles of wine (OK, we only drank 2 1/2..) The bus boy was extremely friendly and offered to open our wine (one had a cork). He gave us our water promptly. A while later, he asked if we had gotten our bread - we said no, but he never returned with any. It seemed like a half hour before we were waited on. (In fact, we had to ask to be waited on.) Ultimately, our order taking went fine. And we got our bread and olive oil-balsamic vinegar dip - the bread has an awesome crunchy crust, and is dense and delicious. Two of us had the Anna's Veggie Lasagna. It was not what I expected, but it was very tasty, green with spinach. One had the gnocchi - can't say what preparation, but the taste of it I had was good. One had the Rigatoni "al frutti del mare" - bits of seafood mixed in to the marinara sauce. There were a couple of scallops and shrimp in that dish, but mostly chopped clams. None of us had any complaints about our meals. Their desserts (at least what we had: tiramisu and the chocolate tartufo) were excellent. Our bill came to a bit over $120, including the meals, salads, and desserts. When the dining room is full, it can be very noisy - I wish they had a little more sound insulation. On both of my visits, the staff seemed friendly, some even convivial. The food is good, if a bit pricey. My only complaint that night was that our meal order was neglected until we grabbed a waiter cleaning another table. They did not charge a corking or glass fee for the wine. We would have maybe liked a bit more vinegar in the dressing, but it wasn't bad at all as it was. My carbonara was rich, fattening, creamy and intensely satisfying. Lots of pancetta bits; they sure didn't skimp on the meat portion. The rigatoni dish was tasty, but had a bit too much tomato sauce for my boyfriend's liking; still, overall it was delish. We were too full to have dessert, which is always a good sign. The bill came to about 25 dollars, with drinks; pretty reasonable, considering the size of the portions (I can't even imagine what the dinner portions are like here - probably the size of a small island). Generously sized, it was more than enough for a good lunch and we probably could have taken some home if we'd really wanted to. The food and ambiance gets a high rating from me. Unlike other Pasta Blitz locations this place pulls itself off than more than just a walk in joint. There is great waiter service, lots of seating, and really sets the mood a restaurant should. Prices are slightly steep, but for the serving sizes well worth it. My friend got a huge calzone, It was the size of a football. I got the Gamberi pasta. GIANT Gulf shrimp, lots and lots of amazing tasting pasta with a white wine sauce. I was full on this dish alone plus the free bread with olive oil they give you. (which they refill) The menu is vast, lots to choose from, something for everyone. This is a rare find, an excellent Italian restaurant tucked away in the strip mall. Great Italian wedding soup, pasta dishes, salad and crunchy bread, although I could do without the vinegar in the bread dip. Stick to just olive oil. They also serve whole wheat pasta which I really love even though one time I had it, it was a bit undercooked. The service I have to give mixed reviews. The Italian waiters are charming and attentive. The last time we went we had an American waiter who obviously did not like his job as he was surly and inattentive, and we found a worker cleaning the walls with cleaning spray at 7 in the evening- a bit unnerving. So...we stumbled into this amazing place coming home from Aruba on St. Patrick's Day. Everything was closed because of COVID. My husband misses the turn for another restaurant and we see the sign on the table outside of Il Basilica. We order the grilled salmon with spinach and tomatoes. And WOW! Stopped in for a quick lunch here today and I was pleasantly pleased. We were greeted when we walked in and and told to sit anywhere we liked. We ordered the lunch special with the chicken and broccoli and a slice of cheese pizza. They brought the pizza just a few moments later and we shared that while waiting for our pasta. We've order a lot of food during Covid from IBT. The food has been consistently fresh and. Good. Overall I would give them 4 stars. Unfortunately, as things seem to be opening up and they get busier we have found the quality to have decreased considerably. Both of the sub rolls that we had last night were stale. The meat and cheese on my Italian cold cut just tasted off. I threw the other half away. My wife's cheese steak was off as well. I tasted it. Whether it was the provolone or something else I don't know. She tossed the rest of her sub also. I hope that IBT can handle the increase in business as it occurs. We will try it one more time.
