This is a local neighborhood joint that has great tasting pizza! The staff is always happy and smiling. They seem to have a lot of repeat customers. While I was waiting on my order, a few of the people who came into pickup the staff already knew them and was handing over their orders without asking names. Love a place like this!. You know if they keep coming back (when there are many choices in the area) they clearly are doing something right. This is the authentic American Italian pizza I grew up eating in North Jersey. Thin, chewy crust with good char; simple, salty tomato sauce; REAL whole milk cheese (that means greasy, people). Canned mushrooms and roasted peppers, which I see complaints about, are traditional and delicious. If you want raw veg, dry, hard cheese, and over-seasoned sauce, stick with chains. This is real-deal American Italian. You don't eat here for the ambiance or the owners kissing your **; you come for the food. And it's darn good. read more

You can easily drop $30.00 on two lunch specials here. Near $11.00 for a dry meatball sub where you always have to ask for extra sauce, and we have been charged for the sauce in a miniscule plastic cup on the side. Pizza sits out if you want only a slice. Looks as if it sits for hours and a full price for greasy cardboard will be billed to you. I had their gnocchi which was ok but sauce is bitter. Since moving here from the NY area, they just cannot do marinara well in Baltimore County. Tastes like supermarket jar sauce. They will nickel and dime you on everything here including 60 cents for a miniature child size roll if you desire extra bread. In takeouts they won't give you butter unless requested and when they do, barely two of them with the seals you pull off. Want dressing on the side of your salad? If so, they will charge you for the tiny plastic container with the lid. Expensive place to say the least. Zero atmosphere. It's like a mall walk in pizza joint with dinners. Only one of TWO restaurants exist in Sparks which is sad. This and the outrageously priced Milton Inn. Such a lacking and limited community in terms of dining choices with tons of traffic and plenty of law breaking speeders on a dangerous, dangerous street for this location, Rt 45 York Rd. Good luck turning in to find it set up on a hill. read more

Not sure why all the high marks. Went here for a quick lunch as was craving pizza. 12:45 on a Thursday. Ordered thin slice of cheese and a slice of cheese Sicilian. Order taken quickly, put the slices in the oven to warm and got them in the to go box. Drove back to the office (less than 5 minutes). Was excited and opened the box and the thin slice was a grease trap...oozing. I laid a napkin on to soak up and went to eat the Sicilian slice... Picked it up and the cheese slid off...all of it...had no structure and no crisp. The thin slice, picked up and it tore at the crust...all in all it looked like pizza but wasn't pizza. I decided to give this place another chance. This is the pizza joint nearest my house, the most convenient, and (??) the highest-reviewed around. Plus, you know, I was really jonesing for a pie. I repent my decision. The salad was ... lettucey. If I were a fan of chopped iceberg I'd be I'm heaven, but no. The vegetable pizza (yeah, I know what you're gonna say, but I'm hopeful to someday find a good one) was bland. And wet. The crust and sauce, like I said before, isn't as good as frozen pizza at home. And SO wet. MUST READ - It's extremely rare that I submit a review but couldn't let this one go! I've not had issues years ago here but it's not the same place. My girlfriend and I went for pizza. Ordered pizza with mushrooms and onions...was told $22. I questioned why it was over $4 more than the veggie pizza with half the toppings. I was told I get 2 "full toppings"not just a "sprinkling". Begrudgingly paid the $22 For the pizza. OMG!!!!! cut the 1st piece and everything slide off the pizza. Watery sauce ran out on the pan. Center of pizza was wet and soggy. REALIZATION...they are watering down there sauce to cut costs. Couldn't figure out why the center was soggy but realized that dough will not cook properly with watery sauce. I know COVID's been hard on businesses but hopefully they read this review and realize they'll have no return customers operating like this. read more

Whether you're eating in or taking out, this is a great place for hungry folks looking to dine well within a budget of $10. Serpico is within a reasonable distance from my place of work but even if it weren't I would be a frequent guest here. One of my favorite go-to meals here is the Serpico salad: warmed, pepper-garlic seasoned grilled chicken, feta cheese, black olives (watch for pits!), chopped red onions all on a bed of crisp spinach and spring mix. I absolutely love their sauce, garlic bread, and their generous amounts of cheese!! A couple quick tips I might offer to the new Serpico customer might be to always tip (for faster, more courteous service) and to come as hungry as you can ... this place will fill you faster than you can finish your plate... My friend and I thought we were so sneaky, getting away from Hunt Valley and heading into the "country side" to Sparks for lunch. It turns out, lots of people do this, as this place was packed! The line went all the way to the door, but it was well worth the wait! You order at the counter and then sit. We both had pasta dishes from the specials menu. Both were served with a huge salad, bread and the pasta dish. The food took awhile, but was so so good! The portions were so big that we both took home our leftovers for dinner. This review is only for their pizza, especially the cheese pies. Every time we go, regardless of what we plan to get, we order pizza. It is far and away the best crust, best sauce and most reasonable amount of cheese anywhere north of Baltimore. My wife is originally from Queens and this is the only place she's found that she loves and doesn't have to special order to get right. Eat in or take out, it's the best every time. (8/3/2016) My SIL has been raving about the Spaghetti Pizza for about 3 years now, finally took her to Serpico for her birthday (that's what she wanted instead of a cake). It was pretty quiet late on a weeknight, but looks like they do a brisk carryout business. The place is tucked away, off the beaten path around the Hunt Valley Town Centre. If you can make it over the valley and through the woods, you come upon a weird cluster of industrial office buildings, burgeoning white ghetto townhome communities, and strip malls, and Serpico is in one of them off Fila Way (yes, Fila, the sportswear company). What do you think of when you hear "Serpico?" Gritty underground crime? Police corruption? Al Pacino? This place is, as far as I can tell, none of those things (and no relation to the Maryland Al Pacino pizza places). It's a friendly, reasonably priced, all-around pizza place serving some very tasty food. Although we looked like we were keeping people from going home (the only party dining-in at the time), we were warmly greeted. They have a carryout counter for ordering with a display case of the a la carte and pizza-by-the-slice items. Salads were freshly made, I had the Greek Salad, had tons of crumbled feta cheese, black kalamata olives (with pit), halved cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, cucumber, diced red onion, and banana pepper rings, very substantial, came with a light olive oil and white wine vinegar and dried oregano dressing. Pepperoni Rolls came 2 to an order with a side of marinara for dipping, great finger food and a starter pizza to your pizza. Can't go wrong, it was a hand-held friendly portion of many slices of large diameter pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning, rolled up in pizza crust and baked. Taco Pizza (fresh looking with plentiful toppings) and Meat Stromboli (very nice thin, crust, almost flaky) were enjoyed. The crowning glory was the Spaghetti Pizza. Be forewarned, it (only comes in 16" and takes about 30 minutes or more to prepare). It's more of a pie, rather than a pizza, like you think. The crust is thin and chewy and there's a filling of spaghetti, marinara, and ricotta cheese topped with a lattice crust, it's a ridiculous carb on carb creation and it's a beautiful thing. Definitely recommend coming here if you like Italian food. Serpico Pizza & Pasta is tucked away in the Sparks Village shopping center. If you're going north of York Road, you can't turn directly into Fila Way, so you're going to have to make a left on Sparks Valley Road, which twirls around to Fila Way. This is the same village where Dunkin' Donuts and Ojas Wellness Center currently resides. I went here a little after 5 pm on the weekday, where business seemed to be stagnant. Around the restaurant are nice-sized booths for the use of enjoying a delicious meal. If you're ordering out, sitting down in these pleasant seats makes the wait that less painful. When I came up to the counter to order, I had a couple of different foods I wanted to get, but in the end I got the Shrimp Alfredo ($15.95) to go. If I had to get Shrimp Alfredo from anywhere in the Baltimore area, I will most likely get it from Serpico. The meal came with reasonably-sized Shrimp (the photo doesn't do enough justice), cooked-to-tenderness fettuccine, and savory sauce. The dinner roll that came with the Shrimp Alfredo put the finishing touches on a pleasing meal that made my stomach satiated. That one serving was more than enough. If I'm in the area, I will definitely make another trip here. Good food, good service = happy customer and stomach. read more

An afternoon of tasting cider and beer will give you a pizza craving like no other, and we were thrilled to see a local restaurant just a couple of miles away. It was clean, well-lit and welcoming, though the menu on the wall was curiously incomplete (no prices and many items were missing.) I grabbed a takeout menu instead and we scrutinized it, then finally decided to test the kitchen's prowess with a plain cheese pizza and a Greek salad -- two simple dishes that are often lackluster but stand out at a truly great restaurant. They didn't stand out here, but they were decent. The pizza had a nice, thin crust, lightly charred and chewy on the outside, flavorful sauce and a pleasing cheese ratio. The salad had great toppings -- ripe tomatoes, crumbled feta, olives, cucumber -- but took a nosedive with iceberg lettuce and only partially recovered with the homemade oregano vinaigrette. The atmosphere inside is a little disjointed: beautiful handpainted murals on the walls, but cheap standard booths and no table service. Still, the price was right ($20 fed three people and we took pizza home) and the food was solid. If l lived nearby, it would probably be my go-to when I didn't feel like cooking! read more

Wow, what a hidden gem. We stopped here on a whim based on a recommendation from years ago. We didn't order much: a pizza, drinks and fries. But the pizza was great, and the fries were good. We sat at a booth during the lunch rush. Interestingly there was a sign about not bringing in outside food. I have no idea what what was about but it did not apply to us. Even though it's about 20 minutes away, we decided that we would definitely be back. It is hard to find a pizza place where you can sit at a booth and enjoy your meal. We were sure about tipping. You order your food and pay at the counter. And pizza is brought out to your booth. But we had to go up to the counter for drink refills, no one came to ask. We were unsure if we were supposed to clean our table like at a fast for restaurant or if a member of the staff came and cleaned it. If no one planned on coming back to the table, and it was like a fast food establishment, we would not tip. But if the person who delivered the pizza planned on cleaning the table, we would of course tip appropriately. It was confusing to us. read more

I walked into Serpico randomly one day at lunchtime since I wanted something different and I had only been in here once even though i don't live far from it. I planned to get chicken marsala, but when I got up to order the guy (a hunk of a guy might I add), convinced me to go with a lunch special they had...I forget the name of it, but it had crabmeat, shrimp, and scallops and delicious sauce with penne pasta. It was out of this world INCREDIBLE. I was so impressed with it. When I went in they had a list of lunch specials to pick from and I believe the guy said they always have lunch specials. Mine came with a yummy salad and a garlic roll. Serpico has anything you can think of when it comes to italian...subs, pizza, salads, etc. You order up front at the cash register and they bring your food out to you. This place was packed and seems to do a real business at lunchtime. I definitely need to come back and try more dishes. The 'za here is good, that's all I have ever had although the subs sound good. We've got pick-up a few times and the pizza is always hot and service is friendly. Place is always packed. The pizza has nice crust, charred and chewy on the outside. I'd give 'em 4 or 5 stars but the last time we ordered green pepper and mushroom as toppings and they cooked the green peppers before baking the pizza. Super soggy and really bitter. Who does that? The mushrooms were also definitely canned. Maybe the green peppers were too and that's why they were terrible. I hate when a pizza place can't do pretty standard toppings right. But I guess I should know better and just get cheese... but when Pizza Hut and Domino's can do it right... that's just disappointing. read more
