I found out about Illusions on IG and have been trying to visit for a while. I finally got a chance when my cousin decided to have brunch here for her birthday. Illusions is definitely pretty inside. Each wall gave an opportunity for a pretty backdrop for photos. While they do have a la carte small bite options, we opted for the $55 bottomless Sunday brunch buffet option which included made to order dishes. I tried a little bit of almost everything. I really enjoyed the cornmeal crusted catfish, Bourbon glazed brioche French toast, salmon, pasta salad, collard greens, Bourbon me chicken thighs, breakfast potatoes, and cornbread. The mac and cheese wasn't bad but I wasn't crazy about it. The grits were very bland and not very creamy. For drinks, some in our party opted for the $20 Unlimited mimosas and some of us ordered cocktails. I ordered a Peach on the Beach. While it was good, it wasn't much liquor in it. I had 2 and felt completely sober after. Overall, I did enjoy my time at brunch. The good food, the great DJ, and attentive service were the highlights.

This is a nice spot for Sunday Brunch. They have a lot of rules that will be texted to you. After you leave your credit card info for the $20 deposit. Which if you no-show. They keep but if you arrive. It will go towards your bill. They don't split bills. They don't accept cash unless you're paying for your complete party with cash with no return change. They automatically add the 18% gratuity. So you don't have to worry about that. I booked this because I heard they had a jamming DJ. Which I find out he doesn't start on Sundays until 1:30. We arrived at 11am. Someone was celebrating their birthday so he said he would go ahead and play earlier. He was good but they didn't make that clear of his start time when I called. They just said yes he will be there. You have a two hour slot time. One good thing is they offer free shots on Sunday. The buffet is $55.00 some things on the buffet menu was good. While others was overly salted. Now I loved the crusted catfish. The salmon was good. The salad, was it worth it to me. No I would stick to the small bites next time and book my time when the DJ is guaranteed to be playing. Nice that they have a dance floor. We did get up there for awhile but keep in mind your time is limited there for two hours so eat as much as you can beforehand. There's plenty of parking available.

A time was had. From the drinks, to the shots and jello shots. A live DJ, contests and good entertainment, you will truly enjoy yourself. Great for large parties, birthdays, Girl's Night Out and Brunch. You have a two hour time limit but you have a blast while you are there. Enjoy.

Omggg what an incredible Brunch spot! I was taken here for my birthday and I had an amazing time! The food was flavorful , the atmosphere and ambiance was breathtaking and the DJ kept the music playing! Everything on the menu was delicious!!!! They offer an unlimited Mimosas with their brunch. The prices are fair. On Sundays there is an all you can eat brunch! I can't wait to come back again!

I've been following Illusions Restaurant & Bar on Instagram for a while and was excited to finally check it out for Sunday brunch. This Black-owned spot in Anne Arundel County definitely caught my attention. I made my reservation via ig DM, which they confirmed through Toast Tab, choosing the 11 AM-1 PM seating. Our server, Jasmine?, was attentive, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was amazing. The DJ brought all the energy, and the ambiance was stunning, from the green wall to the LED lights. It's definitely a beautiful spot to celebrate and vibe out. The brunch is $55 per person, with bottomless mimosas for an additional $25. For two of us, the total came to about $250, which included a few specialty cocktails. I ordered the Mango Mimosa, and my fiancé had the Pineapple Mimosa. We also tried specialty cocktails--the Peach on the Beach for him (he found it a bit weak) and the Hennything Goes for me. Although they were out of Hennessy, the bartender improvised with Woodford Reserve, and my drink turned out strong and flavorful. Brunch features a buffet with a variety of options, but I found the food to be on the cooler side and felt it could have been spread out more for easier access. There was a long line at times. However, you can also order items made to order through your server, which adds a nice touch. The cornbread and biscuits brought to the table were warm and delicious, and a highlight was the complimentary round of shots offered to the entire restaurant--a fun and generous gesture. They are very strict about their seating times, and by 12:45 PM, the lights came on to prepare for the next seating. Parking is free, which is always a plus. Overall, I'd give Illusions a solid 7.5/10. It's a great place for celebrations, good vibes, and gorgeous decor, but there's room for improvement in the food's presentation and temperature. I'd definitely return for the ambiance and experience!

I went to Illusions for my friend's birthday lunch. It was super cute. They had karaoke and a DJ which made for a nice day party vibe. I had wings and a mocktail. Both were tasty. Our server was quick and efficient as well.

When I heard that this restaurant stays booked, I had to give it a try. The decor is beautiful and many took advantage of the back drops for selfies and group photos. Though we came for, there was a DJ and dim lighting. The staff was efficient. The food was fine, however the atmosphere was the highlight!

Great location, with plenty of seats. Stopped by on a Wednesday, the DJ was spinning some great music. Our waitress was attentive and service was fast. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and my friend got the Rasta Pasta. The shrimp had a great flavor but the grits were too loose, almost soupy which actually took away from the experience. My friend enjoyed her meal. I'm hoping it was an off day with grits. I'll try them out again in the future.

This is a great place to experience a turned up brunch! I suggest making reservations. There's plenty of parking. The DJ was on point! Karaoke at breakfast, why not! There's also a hype woman who keeps things rolling and entertaining. Don't sleep on the food and drinks either. We enjoyed everything we ordered and we even had complementary shots!

I visited Illusions Restaurant and Bar in Glen Burnie, MD for their brunch session, which requires a reservation and deposit in advance. They were very accommodating when we had to push our session time back due to car trouble. When we arrived, the vibe was great--the DJ was on point, people were on stage dancing, and the energy in the room was lively and fun. However, when we were seated, we were given a choice of two less-than-ideal locations. We chose the better of the two, but it was disappointing considering the restaurant wasn't crowded and there seemed to be better tables available. The food was a definite highlight. We ordered the fried jumbo shrimp appetizer and the seafood pizza--both were delicious. We also ordered burgers but unfortunately didn't get a chance to eat them. For drinks, we tried the Henny flights. Two out of the three drinks were great, but the third was a big miss. The waitress offered to replace the bad one, but it never happened. Another small downside: my deposit wasn't applied to my bill as expected. Overall, Illusions is a fun brunch spot with great food, lively energy, and a good vibe. There are just a few service and seating details that could be improved to make the experience even better.

I went to brunch at the second location. We got there late but they were able to accommodate us. Once we got in, the atmosphere was great and they had Porkchop as the Dj. However, the food and service were not good at all. The options on actual buffet were mostly cold or over cooked. There are certain items that are made to order on the brunch menu but it was hard to order them. Our server didn't really come to the table so we had to keep flagging her down. $265 for 4 people (plus a $20 deposit) just wasn't worth it. I might try the actual restaurant for happy hour.

Soooooooo good! The food at illusions is absolutely delicious! Perfectly seasoned, hot, and fresh! I can't wait to go back, but it's so far from me! The staff is very friendly and their recommendations are on point! The ambiance is cute and they had a dj when I was there.

Baybee!!! People having been buzzing about Illusions Restaurant and Bar since they opened their doors and I can see why!! My friend celebrated her 40th bday here this past Friday and let me say this, it was definitely a night she will remember forever!! A time was had! The restaurant is located in Glen Burnie, which is epic for this area. As a proud Anne Arundel county girl, we would normally have to travel to Baltimore or D.C. for this vibe! The location is very convenient, safe, with plenty of free parking. The decor is what you would expect from a lounge- type restaurant. Trendy and a bit typical, but it was clean which is what's most important. The cleanliness extended to the bathroom as well. The dining room is nice and open, with plenty of space between the tables. There are also TVs throughout the restaurant and on this particular Friday, there was a DJ. I'm not sure if that's normal for a weekend night, but he definitely did what needed to be done. Our server, Cody, was the absolute best! He was very personable and attentive. We were not sitting for hours waiting for him to take our order and our food came out in a timely fashion. He also made sure we had plenty of water and that our drinks were constantly refreshed. I ordered three of their blueberry drinks with gin, I am kicking myself for not remembering the name of the drink. The drinks were nice and strong, just like I like them! They were also offering five dollar green tea shots, so we ordered a few of those. As for my meal, I had the angel eggs and the catfish with grits. Both dishes were super flavorful. I had some leftover catfish and grits and it was just as good the next day. Ten of us dined during our visit. Now, I will warn you, they do not spilt checks, which I personally don't mind. But if you have any of those "who ordered the gratuity" type friends, this may not work for you. We opted to split the check nine ways, minus is the birthday girl and were able to pay using multiple cards. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Illusions Restaurant and Bar! I definitely will be back to try their Sunday brunch! Wishing much success to this establish, we need more places like this to patronize!!

There is a huge bar with maybe 12-15 seats and a few 4 top tables. After about 7pm it got packed and was mostly standing room. The cocktail menu was a good size with lots of fun and experimental flavor combos. I appreciate the creativity! We each got 2 cocktails. One of mine had an edible flower in it and it was delish. My fiancé got the espresso martini as did just about every other customer! One suggestion for the team is to put photos of the drink menu pinned on Instagram! Keep in mind these are all custom made by your bartender for each drink so please be patient, it is worth the wait. The food menu is small but everything we had was tasty and filling. All the food is like snacky Indian food - with lots of masala spices. We got the sampler and a chicken tikka pizza. I'd recommend both! The wings were the best part for us. That menu is on their insta. It's definitely not a full fancy meal but with the cocktails, for me it was plenty. They had a few TVs and played some music, it wasn't too loud and they had some cute string lights. Both bartenders were friendly and attentive. I hope they keep making new drinks and perhaps rotate the menu occasionally! This is a great addition to Locust Point, definitely a killer date spot, come support a great local spot!!

I did pay attention to his behavior while the woman was seated next to me and his drink mixing wasn't as aggressive. I had to go to the bathroom during my visit and told him I would pay before going to the bathroom so he wouldn't make any assumptions about me. I asked him to keep my drink behind the bar because the woman was still seated next to me. I came back and the woman eventually left. When I went, $15 got us a flight of every spirit they produce - and they don't skimp! I thought it would be a little 1/2 oz tasting, but this was just shy of a full shot each, so I ended up sharing with my companions. Speaking of flights, they also offer flights by style. For example, if you are more of a rum person, they have a flight of their rums as well as some from other local distilleries. Ditto for the whiskeys. A nice touch promoting competitors in the spirit of... well, spirits! The cocktails were great. I got a daiquiri - a proper daiquiri with lime and rum. Not to hate on a spiked strawberry smoothie, but this is the OG daiquiri (and the better one, IMHO). I also split the Liberty Risk, made with their Navy Strength cask rum, with my companions. I had heard about a seafood place in Severna Park, but I wasn't in the mood for seafood. That's when I came across Betty Lou's. As soon as I looked at the food photos, I knew that's where we were headed. It was about a 20 minute ride from Annapolis not bad at all. Betty Lou's is located in a shopping center. There were a few cars in the lot when we pulled up, but I wasn't sure if they were there for the restaurant or other businesses nearby. When we walked in, there was one person sitting at the bar. We asked if we could sit there, and the bartender (don't remember her name) was very pleasant and welcoming. She thanked us for coming in, and when I mentioned I found the place on Yelp, she explained that everything is made fresh to order. They have an excellent selection of craft drinks on the menu, the assortment of cocktails and wines that look very good. My wife ordered an iced tea, and I had the Jimmy Red Old Fashioned. The drink looked fantastic, and she took her time carefully measuring each ingredient. That's how cocktails are supposed to be made balanced and flavorful, not just tasting like straight liquor. If I wanted that, I'd just order bourbon neat. For lunch, my wife ordered the meatloaf with collard greens and roasted potatoes. I had already decided on the chicken pot pie after seeing it online. I did find it a little strange they don't offer mashed potatoes as a side with meatloaf, that would've made it a home run in my opinion. When the food arrived, everything looked excellent. The pot pie was larger than I expected compared to the pictures, and the meatloaf was a generous portion as well. After the first bite, I can honestly say it was one of the best chicken pot pies I've had loaded with tender chicken, carrots, onions, celery, and a rich, flavorful gravy. And the pastry crust? The BEST I've ever had. It was big enough that I had leftovers for dinner. My wife's meatloaf was tender and flavorful, and the collard greens were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The roasted potatoes were just okay again, mashed would've put it over the top but that's just personal preference. She also had plenty leftovers for dinner. The food was great, the décor was nicely done, and the service was excellent. If this place were closer to home, it would definitely be a regular spot for us. We need something like this down in Calvert County. Overall, if you're looking for a great meal and well-crafted drinks, Betty Lou's is absolutely worth the drive even if you live a little ways away.

We were sat pretty quickly & our waitress was great. But half way through she handed us over to the bartender, who just seemed inconvenienced that we were there. My husband had just finished a beer when she took over (which was in a can, not a tap beer), she asked if he wanted another, he said yes, and brought some draught beer that definitely wasn't what he was drinking. We are very easy going, so that wasn't even the end of the world. But she wasn't very friendly so we just went with it. The food. We ordered rockfish bites for an app, chicken pot pie, bacon wrapped shrimp & Mac & cheese. I will say, everything came out quickly. Rockfish bites: Not only were they bland & salt-less, but not all of them were cooked all the way through. The bacon-wrapped shrimp were ok, but cold in spots. The chicken pot pie: This is the reason I came. Certainly you can't mess this up, seeing how my favorite pot pie is from KFC. My standards aren't that high. I wish I could add a photo to a low review. I've never seen the inside of a pot pie that was dark gray. It didn't look appetizing at all, but it's a pot pie so I'm not basing anything on appearance. Once I took a bite I realized that it was gray because there was SO MUCH ground thyme in it. Like they dumped a whole jar in there. It wasn't even edible. The Mac & cheese was really good, I wish I had just ordered that. Before you reply that we should have said something, we already felt like we were an inconvenience to the bartender & she didn't even care enough to serve the same beer that was originally ordered. We didn't even want to deal with her. So we chalked it up as a loss. Of over $100. This place is so cute, we really loved the ambiance & wanted to love the food. We definitely won't be back, but I don't think it's going to be around much longer anyway.
